I'm a professor of law and spent 18 years in the trenches as a business litigator with major law firms. Based on my experience, several comments in this thread seem to me particularly useful: 1. Being a "millionaire" doesn't mean being a big spender or having a lot of money to spend. The big spenders don't remain big spenders for long unless they are exceedingly fortunate. So-called "millionaires" whose money is tied up in highly leveraged real estate have paper profits but little cash and often-punishing mortgage payments, and could be wiped out easily if the real estate "bubble" bursts. 2. "Millionaire" is not synonymous with "manners" or "mindfulness." Lots of crude, rude, and not particularly intelligent people become millionaires. One can be a millionaire due to inheritance, luck, or a good lawyer.
    3. Lots of millionaires behave like ordinary folks, dress in an ordinary fashion, and spend their money wisely. It is legendary that Sam Walton, founder of Wal-Mart, didn't even have an office, he occupied a cubicle like everyone else.
    4. A gentleman pays for the phone calls, the travel expenses, the dinners, and whatever other costs are involved in developing a relationship. Men on this site who claim to be millionaires but are unwilling to incur these expenses are not worthy of your attention. I realize this is a traditional attitude and is not "politically correct," but gentlemanliness is itself a traditional attitude, and there is value in tradition.

Touche! Arnie. Most of what you say is true. But not all millionaires have their monies completely tied up leaving themselves cash poor. Nor do they have all their money tied up all in one area, as you suggest...real estate...they tend to have a diversified portfolio...at least successful & intelligent millionaires! :-) Therefore, a crash in the real estate market would not wipe them out. But it is true for some people, just not the majority I don't think.

your right Professor. You have described the type of millionaire I am looking for....not necessarilly a millionaire in $$$'s but a millionaire in heart. Gold doesn't have to be a color and a material object but a shinning within a persons soul that radiates far more then any $$ can. My blinders are off and the $$'s are not the big attraction. There is a post on this forum where a few women have described what they love about a man - and i don't remember reading one that said anything about $$$'s. Thanks, again for being the gentleman you obviously are in putting wise words for us.

    There probably are some legitimate
'millionaires' on this site. May I suggest joining a country club. Frequently I receive offers, but personally, I would never join one.

In my opioion, this web site is rather cheesy for $100k+ income individuals and millionaires, don't you think? Compared to some of the major dating sites, MM needs an extreme makeover.

Krizia...yes there are, and some may not post their net income at all, or they may post it $100k.
Since I joined MM, I have noticed it is a developing dating site. The forums as they are today became that way in Jan. 2005 when posts took 24 hrs to showup, and in Feb. 2005 posts became instant.
If you know of a dating site for women that is better than MM with an excellent selection of successful, professional men, please feel free to share it with the rest of us. We'd love to know. :-)

I'm not sure. I've been on this site for a few months with out any luck. I check in once every 3 months or when a message arrives. Recently I responded to an older guy (58) in my area. He alleged to be a business owner 5 times, living in 3 states and seeking a life partner. He sent me a few emails loaded with poor writing skills. In his last email he wrote condum, instead of condo. He gave me several telephone numbers, all which appeared to be cell phone numbers. When I spoke to him over the telephone, he was bragging that so many women call him for sex. I hung up and blocked him. I refer to this type as 'time wasters', which I quickly eliminate.

I'm passing by and read your comment about the possible net-worth of someone on this site.
I believe that money doesn't care who owns it and money doesn't make a man a man. The ability to make money should asume nothing else, especially not perspective, stability or even plain old decency. A mechanic is always just a mechanic...Gerry

well, there are lots of millionaires out there, and all ages both male and female, and even some that are single, and have very little to do, (like myself). However just because someone has a million dollars, or they have been fortunate to be born into a family that has means, doesnt mean that they are interested in going out all the time. I spend my time at the gym or with my friends, or I am busy managing my family business. Why wouldnt I get online? The internet has been an incredible tool for me to expand my business, why not look for like minded folks like myself? I find the whole arguement to be of no consequence and immaterial anyway.

Come on...you have nothing to do? You don't look like a couch potatoe! lol

    Words of wisdom.

Well been some time since I joined a forum but here I go. There are those out there who are looking for the get rich concept by marring it. But on the other hand there are the ones that say they are a millionare that aren't that use it as bait. The wonders of the internet have brought forward all kinds. The trick is to find the good from the bad. And there are alot of sincere honest people on this site.
Most of us are here for one reason, to find the person of our dreams and live happily ever after in love. Whether they are a millionaire or not.

my opinion is that there are numerous dating sites, from bikers to rednecks.
MM does not mean that every woman on here is looking for a millionaire or that every man is for that case. It simply is a forum and meetng place where successful people can meet.
" MM makes it easy for the millionaires, whose busy lifestyle leaves little time to meet people conventionally, to find ideal partners online. i find that half the women on here are not gold diggers but are women who are financially independent and would like to simply find a partner that lives up to their standards, thier money is theirs, mine is mine. perhaps the word millionaire should be ommitted? and changed to busy successful people.. who knows.. are their millionaires on here? who cares.
i find that most people who are wealthy do not live a lifestyle of jets and such but are rather busy earning thier money and just because they have it does not mean because u suddenly appear looking great that u are entitled to it.
lots of talk of money, but mostly the newbies- seems everyone else is on here for fun.. now if u go back a year or 6months u may find some did not know each other- but alot do now and its not about money if u read 99% of the threads... so with that being said perhaps if u find him or her let it be the standards and morals that attracts u rather then the money..

    Well said NYChick...ditto!
