Happiness is.... Lifestyle Forward to friends

Hello, I am new to this site (as of yesterday) and was looking around the forums. I found it interesting that there was a dedicated category listing to happiness. So I decided to post some thoughts on the subject...

    Happiness is...

long walks, wherever they might be.

stopping long enough to observe the orange, pink and blue of an amazing sunset.

the sound of good humored laughter around the dinner table.

the crackling of a warm fire on a cold winter night.

the smell of delicious food or drink permeating the air.

getting lost in your favorite song for just those few seconds.

the thrill of a roller coaster ride, a frightening movie or a haunting novel.

a smile greeting you as your eyes open to meet the new day.

not wanting to be anywhere other than where you are in that moment.

Those are but a few I can think of... can you add to them?

You appear to be a sweet, honest and warm younglady, just wanted to clue you in on at least one guy, Merlin2003, used to be Hardeen. He mentions all of these lovely things in his profile. Only problem is he is engaged to the woman he has been living with for 4 years, beware of the magician looking for his incandescent soul mate. He'll charm you with all the right stuff, but it's all a pack of lies.

To all the ladies. Well done. A great thread!

Happiness DOES start with YOU. As we know someone else can not make you truly happy. They can only add to the on going feeling.

Holding a new baby kitten and the softness of his furr.

talking to someone you care about and a smile is always there.

Having friends and knowing even when they are busy they will always be there.

The joy of getting to know a new man in
    your life.

The contentment of being "by yourself"

Waking up to a beautiful day.

Being content with life, with what I have, and most importantly with myself. Loving and accepting without expectation or attachment. Giving, serving and being grateful for the countless blessings is "Happiness" ...

Everything is energy. In reality, happiness is a level of vibration. When we feel the vibratory level of happiness it indicates the level we are vibrating at that moment. We tend to associate happiness and other human emotion with external events, when in fact the level at which energy calibrates within us is our choice. We can choose from a range of low or high vibration. It is significant that the level of human consciousness now calibrates over 200, meaning anything less than integrity is no longer sustainable.

Happiness is a choice not a destination.

I do understand what you are trying to say. I totally believe that perception is reality. That very much sounds like owning happiness to me. :)

Thank you for your response, I've enjoyed reading the postings.

Thank you for the welcome, I've enjoyed reading some posts so far. Those are all wonderful and it's amazing to think of how the little things bring so much joy to our lives.

We only have to stop long enough to think about them. All too often we are too busy or sidetracked to notice.

    Thank you for your reply.

I am new to this site and just had to respond to this topic. For me being happy is how I choose to live my life. Happiness for me starts from within. Life is hard and we have all lived through out fair share of hard times, I am sure, but for me, happiness is something that I own. I am not sure if this is making any sense it's hard to put into words. All I can say is that happiness is hard to find if I am looking on the outside therefore I have found that if I take good care of myself, do things for myself that bring me joy and go out of my way to be kind to others, I stay in a "happy zone"!!

    Amaiya Hi,
A very warm welcome to MM, I hope you enjoy the forum and have a lot of fun meeting all the wonderful people here.I'd love to add a few 'Happiness is 'to your list..

The sound of waves crashing on the seashore.

The sound of Seagulls near the ocean.

To see the dew on a spiders web finely woven amongst leaves..in autumn when the berries are red.

To have my face cupped in the hands of the one I love.

When a baby closes it's hand around your finger.

The sound of children laughing whilst playing.

To see your dog come bounding towards you when you've been away for a while..or to run back to you when you call it's name.

To see your child do the same.

To climb into a bed with fresh lovely scented clean linen on it mmmmm.

To share uncontrollable laughter with the one you love.

The smell of baking / food cooking.

Being kissed on the back of my neck and shoulders..

    Kindness from a stranger.

The list is endless.. looking back at my list so far I just realised that most of the things that make me happy cost absolutely NOTHING..
