I thought it would be interesting to see how many others like myself stray from the 'norm' in regard to pets. In addition to a cat, I also have a Colombian Red-Tailed Boa Constrictor named Samantha that is almost 8ft. long. I got her as a tiny baby and now she is 10 years old. My son has a Hermit Crab he named Jeffrey. (Although we are now on our third.....) :-) What pets round out the rest of your families??
I have had my current pet snake for 22 years!! Her name is Cricket and she is a common snake around here in southern California, she's a Rosy Boa. They only grow to about 3 and a half feet and have tiny teeth (not fangs) so she would make a pretty good pet for a kid with allergies who likes reptiles.
In addition to my 2 outside cats, my 2 inside cats, my great dane, my soon-to-arrive german shepherd puppy...
I have chickens as well! They make fabulous pets: they eat all your scraps, make compost for you, eat all your bugs, give you eggs, and if you can bring yourself to eat your pets (which I can't), you can have them for supper! Truly the all around pet!
Here's a photo of a mille fleur Leghorn I had a few years back - one of my very favorite chickens!
I have 7 degus, a Roborovski hamster and two cats. The picture shown is 5 of my baby degus when they were only a few weeks old. My babies are ten and half months old now.
I love all animals, but my ducks (this is Princess and her baby) have been extremely entertaining, I also had a chicken (Sammy) that would ride on my shoulder.I have 5 chinchilla's and 2 hamsters, 4 dogs and one cat.
I have a rabbit, Mister Carrot, and he goes on walks with me. I know it sounds ridiculous, but it is true LOL. He used to hop along side of me, but he is 8 years old now and is quite obese so I usually just carry him now. I also have a King snake, Sir Slithersworth. You can see him in the Christmas photo on my profile if you want to see him...I am holding him.

I think mostly because it's written form, because I am not that serious in real life. Just down right awful at conveying wit over the forum...you guys do well at it...I enjoy reading all your humour.
