So I was on a plane today, sitting next to a fairly young mother-late 20s-and her 2 yr old son. We chatted casually throughout the flight, she seemed nice enough. As we were getting off the plane, I noticed her diaper bag had little cartoon people all over it with word balloons coming out of there mouth. Each cartoon character had the same word "F*ck". My response: what the f*ck? I seriously want to know if a single one of you men and women out there think it is appropriate for a mother to be wearing or carrying items with swear words on them. When did it become acceptable for mothers to walk around with shirts with cuss words or sexual innuendos on them. I have noticed lately that its not just young teen mothers, I actually notice more mothers in their late 20s broadcasting their lack of class in front of their kids. Now those of you that have had the pleasure of speaking with me in IMs or on the phone know that I am NO saint! I love using the f word. But NEVER with children around! What is wrong with our society? No, nevermind dont answer that. Just tell me-seriously, do you think this is ok?

It was a good time genie-Is rare for me to go on a "bad" date you can always have a goodtime meeting someone new. Unfortunately this go around for me has surfaced a LOT of bad dates and I was beginning to wonder what was wrong with me. Thankfully had a much better/normal time the other day!

It's never okay, and as you say exhibits a lack of class. Pauline, as parents we can tell our kids not to wear revealing clothes that are a little too sexy for their age. But they won't listen, and it they get their backs up. I remember my daughter wearing a really short skirt to school after I told her it wasn't appropriate. She scoffed at me. After school I picked her up as I usually did. One of her good friends, a male acquaintance said bye to her, then told her not to wear that skirt again. Wow! My ears perked up, and wanting her to hear his answer, I turned and asked him "why?" His answer was, "Because all the guys want to look under her skirt!" I gave him a thumbs up and said "Thank you!" My daughter never wore that skirt again, and was more conscience of the style of clothes she wore and the message given off. She learned to dress very stylish, classy & elegantly sexy that's appropriate. Sometimes their friends can be the best medium for delivering a message.

You know this is off subject but I have a semi-funny story bout FCUK. I was looking for new perfume and well I saw FCUK and I said to my mom "Sweet mom it says F U C K I'm so buying it because its my fave cuss word." Well I get home and re-read it and it said FCUK and so I said well well F U C K it doesn't say F U C K but it is now my fave perfume.

GET OUT!! I read this ... and told my sister about it. She just couldn't believe it. We were so appalled! I was thinking of how MANY people had to think that was okay before it ever got filled with a bunch of diapers by a mom. Think of it.... A bunch of marketing people in a conference room. One says "I know, lets make a diaper bag with the F'word on it!" Then someone says "yeah, better yet lets make it with cartoon characters with talk bubbles spoutin' the F'nheimer!" ..."Yeah, great idea!!" Think of the number of people that had to approve the manufacturing and distribution of that bag. But "they" must know something we don't, because who in their RIGHT MIND would think a mother would want a diaper bag like that!? Apparently those of us with a right mind were unware of today's society. It actually made marketing sense....mothers are actually buying it. Sad thought. I agree with Erica Anne - cute new photo Sep!! ;-) Erica Anne, Congratulation that you have raised a son you can be proud of! That is quite an accomplishment. TP

havethetime-i have no response you've proven your total lack of class and respect for children by your reply silence-I was not mistaken. I am familiar with fcuk this was a cartoon character with the word BLEEPED out not spelled out. It was written exactly like this F*ck! NOT FCUK. Geezz I am not THAT stupid. Secondly, if i was wrong, which is an impossibility, I am still ranting about the onslaught of clothes that have slogans on them that are not children appropriate. Like your bf likes me or whatever those shirts say. Hell, we sell them at my store and frankly I think its offensive when the mothers allow their 8 yr old daughters to buy a shirt that says "Boys love blondes" or "Boys Boys Boys" COME ON! We dont need to be pushing sex and cuss words on children!

I'm sorry had to jump in on this one. Who are you to spout your moral beliefs on this site. If someone wants to carry that around who are you to say it is wrong. I didn't come on here to get preached to. Thought this was a dating site, not where someone shoves their belief system down my throat. Who are you the bearer of right and wrong. You have your beliefs I have mine, don't try to tell me mine are wrong. So when you asked who said it was okay, It was me. And my opinion counts every bit as much as your's. Oh wait, i see on other blogs where you think your opinion is more important than others.

I totally agree, we are killing our children's manners and their very souls by spoiling them rotten and making excuses for them when they are bad. Give the paddles back to the school teachers, I got paddled and it sure didn't kill me. When the parents come in complaining give them a paddling too, Just kidding, but we sure need to get control back. When my kids got in trouble at school they got in even more trouble at home, by the way they are both very good adults with great jobs and take care of their responsibilities. I don't even wear shirts that are bad dirty, maybe a little, but not with the F word for sure.

Sepelo, No, I don't think it's okay, but see/hear it all too often and still cringe everytime. I could overhear the previous upstairs neighbor, because he used to yell profanities at his one-year-old regularly. The kid would be crying, and the dad would be screaming, "Shut up! I said, 'Shut the f**k up!" Right, like that's really going to calm down a BABY. Once in a while, I'd hear something that sounded like the kid was being hit, but I didn't know if it was merely spanking, or something worse. In any case, every time I actually SAW the child, there weren't any marks and he was always smiling, but still. People like that make me wonder, "Would parental licensing and mandatory sterilization for certain people be such a bad thing?"

No of course it isn't OK..Our society is so screwed up...This is just the tip of the iceberg...look at all the things society accepts today...remember when girls got bad reputations in school if they fooled around...I remember..in high school when the rest of the cheerleaders found out I wouldn't go parking...that I didn't even know what they were talking about half of the time...they were stunned because I had not done it...things have flipped... I hear parents using foul language in front of their children all of the time....Its disgusting...Many of the mother's here are on drugs of one sort or another..they drift through their days on cloud nine...some are drinking as early as lunch time...they throw money at their children and just do not want to deal with them...Its sad...no wonder our children are growing up and are becoming addicts of one sort or another...and they are killing each other..killing their class mates their parents and themselves... A friend of mine said he is a policeman...he said they have no control anymore that the children are running things...that they know the laws better than the parents...the laws now are to protect the children...so now they can literally get away with murder without too much more than a slap on the wrist...and they know it so they use this power over the parents... they know if they get into trouble..mommy and daddy will get them out of it...sorry.. I had to go through this with my son..a few years ago..when he lost his grandfather....Thank Goodness he is all past it... he is one of the lucky one's..they have asked him several times to give speeches to the HS..he has done this..I am so very proud of him.... Sepelo..love that pic..you look so cute.. what have we done.... Erica Anne @}------------
