WOW... I can't decide! But being only 11, I guess it's OK?? Seriously, I think I can relate a little bit to all the "children" but probably my strongest connections would be to the spiritual and playful children. I hope my family and friends would agree. Erica, you always have the most thought provoking blogs! Please keep them coming... I've grown to love reading all the blogs even if I don't respond to all of them. I'm already missing JLogan and now Healey and I didn't even know them like you do! And Candieleigh too! ;-)

I see that we show that inner child thru our blogging and whatever we do...He/she shows up in our way of thinking ..how we react..and out behavior.....there is no denying that we all have one...the issue I see ..is that there are a lot of children out there who are damaged ..hurt...lonely....fearful...we need to address this issue within us ..before we can truly grow..and become all we can be...it seems to me that this child within us needs to be nurtured not to be ignored....

Well thanks for doing the math for me *winks* My inner child is 10.. hmm.. does that make me old or young? Now I can look at the inner child definitions and I can see two.. I can see the one that I was for many many years. Yes events that happen to us tend to leave scars and reflect upon our inner child. But I can look at those refrences and see where those events have helped me to grow and to heal. I can see where other's have helped me to grow and heal. And to especially heal that inner child. Though there are and perhaps might always be tiny pieces of the past inner child left to deal with and face, and heal. At one time I was very much the Abandoned child. How can a child who grew up with so many around be so alone or abandoned many might ask when looking at my past, but believe me it happened very often. I always remember feeling so very alone and not wanted. One of the hardest tasks I've had to face as an adult is my fear of being abandoned. Now I know and understand though that I'm never truly alone. When I feel like I'm being abandoned by someone the best cure I've found was to go out and make a new friend. Sometimes though the best friend I have in the world is truly myself, and I'll never abandone myself. Now I can say in all honesty that I'm more like the playful child. I've always been very playful. Creative to a fault. Spontaneous is my middle name. I've actually had some excellent teachers in this. Jumping into a car with a full tank of gas, money for a meal (and more gas if need be) and a map to get us home was a common thing with my mother and my sister when we were in our teens. We all took turn picking directions and had some incredible adventures. It's something my children expect in me and not uncommon to simply pack up a picnic and go drive around till we find a nice park somewhere to explore. The more you practice just doing it.. the easier it becomes. The greatest days can be had with next to no money spent. The quality time spent together outweighs all else truthfully. Communication is open. Who am I? I am a student of life.. forever growing and nurturing that inner child. Forever working to heal the hurts, challanging myself to change, forever trying to understand who I am and why I am here now. Forever wanting to help others on their journey. I am .. ME. Leigh
