This is soooo ridiculous. I went to CompUSA today to upgrade my laptop. I bought a new harddrive and new software to install on the harddrive. The software was already overly priced, but then they wanted to charge me $110 EXTRA to change the harddrive out and install the software!!! Is that nuts or what??? AND PEOPLE PAY THIS!!! Why do large companies feel the need to take advantage of people who can't do something of this nature for themselves?? The combined total of the products and service would have bought me a new laptop!! I felt a need to stand up for myself... I told them to take their service and shove it!! LoL... okay, not in those exact words. The kids that were working there looked at me like I was crazy!! I guess they didn't understand that it's excessive to pay someone as much as they were chaging to take out a few screws to replace the harddrive (which I had already done previously), and to stick a CDRom in the disk drive! The program loads itself!! You don't even have to be there!! In fact, I wasn't... I left and when I came home it was all ready for me!! Don't get me wrong... I understand that not all people are capable, but do they have to be penalized for it??

CD- In some manner I've boycotted gas prices as well... I make all of my friends drive me around!! But you're lucky you don't live here in CA... Flyrr- I personally watch a lot of do-it-yourself television!! I like to at least try to do something myself first and then, and only then, will I ask for help... if I can't figure it out. I like to think of myself as "self-sufficient." But I have very specific reasons as to why!

Last week one of the main big springs on my garage door broke. The garage door guy came over to replace the spring. Forty five minutes later I was given a bill for over $300. I had no choice but to pay it. But I know I was ripped off. My fault for not going to Home Depot, buying the spring, and then paying someone $100 to put it on. Beautifly, you go girl!

I agree. I keep thinking that when it comes to the oil companies. I mean, we're paying over $3 per gallon due to many reasons and yet the oil companies are PROFITING $26Million dollars? I stopped driving to and from work for that reason. Literally the day after that report came out. What a crock of cheese that is! I have a select few words for people like that.
