How I have dreamed of what true love may be! I have never known true heart ache. I have never known what is to loose one that I have really loved. Other than my family, I am not sure I have ever really been in love. I have searched myself for the reasons. Is it me? Maybe. I am a very emotional person, so why is it that I have never felt true loss upon the ending of a relationship. Am I lucky and blessed with thoughtlessness when it comes to the loss of a lover, or have I never been truly in love? I guess it is hard to believe that I have never been in love, but this may be the case. What is worse, losing something you truly love or never knowing what it is to truly love or be in love? "It is better to have loved and lost than to have never loved at all"??? I think so. I know I have everything I should ever ask for; health, wonderful friends and family, great career, free time, sunshine, and a big heart. With all this, is asking for more, asking too much? I am ready and willing for it to happen. Maybe too ready and will I be strong enough to except the reality if love goes wrong? Yes? I hope so, but I am willing to face it regardless. Has anyone else faced this with an open heart and open eyes and truly said to themselves, I have never been in love? I hope there is enough hope, happiness, and love to go around. I am awaiting my turn. Any and every resonse would be appreciated. Gary

"Our culture creates a lot crazy women who are not capable of long term healthy relationships" Excuse me? And it doesnt create just as many men? A more appropriate comment would have been "our culture creates a lot of crazy PEOPLE who arent capable of healthy relationships". Chauvinist!

Hello Oilman Seems you have a flair for the pen and how wonderfully put the thoughts of the heart. You are young and have so much of life left. My only advice is not to settle. It is actually sadder than not finding love. Go places where you want to find someone. For example, if you are interested in someone who exercises regularly, then join a popular gym...see?? and so on. She is out there...and the ladies are correct, if you arelooking for a heartbreak, MM is the place...but truly I hope you find HER before the heart break. Much better. Best wishes A

Thank you Sepelo, I hope you are able to find that again for yourself. Hearing that type of story makes me glad that I have held out and not settled for less.

Gary Fascinating subject. My best friend is 30 and shes never been 'in love". I am shocked by this. To me its like being a virgin or something. To answer your question, yes it is MUCH better to have loved and lost. I have been in love 3 times, but only once was it a perfect amazing love. The kind movies are made of. When that relationship ended, I could honestly say that I could go the rest of my life without ever knowing another love. Because what we had was so fulfilling. . .the memory of that love could last me the rest of my life. Thankfully, the story doesnt end there. He and I have remained very close friends and confidants. He is now with a wonderful woman (more age appropriate!) and I'm very happy for him. Gary I hope one day you will experience the same love. It truly is worth everything! And hopefully your story will end with you spending the rest of your life with that woman! Good luck

I appreciate the comments, but all I have seen are comments that refer to the title and not whether anyone has experinenced this or knows the feeling. I understand that you don't just go out and find love, it is just something that happens. That was not the point of this.

Agree with CD. If we knew the answer to your question, oilman, we sure wouldn't be here!

If there was any method to the madness, MM would have gone bankrupt along with all the other sites.
