I recently bought a wonderful hundred year old house. The minute I walked in this house I knew I was going to buy it, even though it was not grand or beautiful in an obvious way. The house exuded a welcoming warmth that was, to me, palpable; healing bands of promise and hope seemed to radiate throughout it. The house seemed to have been constructed by some greater power to PERFECTLY answer my needs and prayers at that moment in time. My instincts have proven right so far. The house has been magical for myself and my children as a place to rebuild and regroup on all levels. When strangers first enter the house, almost every time, they remark on how positive the house feels, how serene, and nurturing. My son, who has been filled with fears of every sort in the last year or so, has NEVER been afraid in this house, even for the several days we had to sleep in the stone-walled basement when our a/c was in disrepair. I truly believe the house is "possessed" by something POSITIVE whatever IT is. My experiences in this house set me thinking about spirits that haunt older houses and how REAL they might be. Have you encountered something unexplained in a home you have lived in? Did you believe that it might represent a spirit of sorts? Or do you believe that the notion of spirits (benign or ill) is just plain hooey?

Me too, its kinda intersting too that most of my friends that I talk to about this feel the spirits, whatever they are, are not a negative but a positive. Wow Varinia, 12 houses, I am very impressed!!!! I expect you are VERY handy around the house - you should have seen me trying to reattach the newel post on my stairs a few weeks ago. Was quite pathetic.

. . . and if you did experience something supernatural in your home . . . did it make you want to leave?
