How to keep your fellow bloggers from all rising up and hating on you.  Here are a few guidelines beyond MM rules.

  1. Don’t bend MM rules too far.  This saves you from being booted.

  2. Have interesting topics.  If one or two bomb now and then so be it.

  3. No more than one blog per day.

  4. No more than three blogs a week.

  5. Be succinct.  If the blog is too long it won’t be read.  You have to be a master story teller to warrant long blogs.  Few of us are and even those who are know better than to do it all the time.

  6. Respond to comments.  It makes it fun to blog with you.

  7. Join the fray on other blogs.  This too makes it fun to blog with you.

  8. Occasional violation of these rules is tolerated.  Note the word tolerated.  Not the same as encouraged.

All of the above my opinion.  I welcome differences of opinion,  corrections, and additions.

Hope,

I have been trying to tell the ladies that for years.  Have not gotten away with it since my college days.  Back then I could fool a few of them.

Sounds like utopia.  Everyone should be comfortable and welcome doing whatever they please as long as their behavior does not get too shi##y as decided by some benevolent management.

Actually not too far from what we have.  No ones blogs are rejected by MM for being dumb, uninteresting, too long, poorly written, bad grammar, or being one of too many on a given day.  The kicker here is the MM blogging community is free to accept or not such behavior.  .

One is free to comment as you will on anyone’s blogs.  No matter if it is relevant, irreverent, not pertinent, dumb, or poorly written.  Now here the op (blog originator) can delete it if they choose, or even block that person from their blog.  However here comes the kicker.  It is considered really poor form by MM’s blogging community for the op to do those things.

So, presuming one wants to “happily” play on these blogs one needs to behave more or less per the “common law” rules as developed over time by the blogging community.  Tough, but there it is.

Here is some guidance from another site on creating a Safe Space for everyone.

A Safe Space is a place where anyone can relax and be able to fully express, without fear of being made to feel uncomfortable, unwelcome, or unsafe on account of biological sex, race/ethnicity, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, cultural background, religious affiliation, age, or physical or mental ability.

A place where the rules guard each person’s self-respect and dignity and strongly encourage everyone to respect others....

  1. We want this to be a Safer Space as possible, recognizing that no Space is entirely safe, and free from Oppression. If anything shitty needs to be called out to make it the safest possible space, then let it be known that this space is open to other’s idea’s, thoughts, beliefs and realities. These issues will be tackled as they arise.
  2. Ask Questions if you need clarification to anything.
  3. This is a confidential space. Anything personal shared, stays within these spaces.
  4. Offensive, Oppressive and Shitty Behaviour will not be tolerated. We have a three-strike system, to encourage  self re-educating on topics, however, we maintain the right to deal with each infringement case as we see fit, and give no warnings.
  5. Trigger Warnings can be requested at any time, from anyone.  If you have seen something that may have been missed while tagging, or mis-tagged, let us know

It's as if you are speaking form another planet? Oh, no..

Just TUMBLER SAFE SPACE..

I now see how stupid TUMLER is because #3 is IDIOCY.

This is THE INTERNET..

ANYTHING YOU SAY, CAN AND WLL BE HELD AGAINST YOU AT A LATER DATE.

Do NOT misunderstand this my friends..

Once it is sent to outer space... IT'S THERE...

YOU CANNOT RETIRIEVE..

****@G2BtheKing****

Excuse me to interrupt your arrays of view ...What should not be included in a blog ??

Are those mentioned above , multiple choice or the winner takes it all but to tell you most of it are not applicable for blogs because of its very private and personified meaning .. We don't have to open up here everything ...we are all strangers to each other and I respect very much our individual identities ...

All of the OP's points are great advice, but the level of vitriol and aggression shown against those who aren't following the rules is rather excessive.   The posts full of insults for a total stranger who you'll never meet in your life say more about the poster than they do about the person not following these blogging rules.

Actually, GOOD2BE...

"Vitriol" and "aggression" are poor words at best...

I will call it as I see it.. And being I AM "in the social media business" ....

I can call it best..

If you fail to see undertones and aggression on the "newbies" part.. that's your own comprehension issue...

I prefer people who "spit it out."

Now, barring my PERSONAL opinion...

Let's join my PROFESSIONAL opinion... as THE NUMBERS DON'T LIE.....

CYBER MONDAY sales are in and while Walmart shopping AT Walmart was down....

ONLINE shopping was UP...

BY a BILLION dollars..... (or is that BUY a billion dollars??)

FACT IS GOOD2B..

LEARNING how to "be social" in the media and online forums is VITAL...

And when one FAILS to play well with others in a social forum.. ESPECIALLY WHEN BRAGGING ABOUT BEING A MEDIA STAR.... AND TRYING TO CONSTANTLY SCHOOL OTHERS WITH THEIR EXCESSIVE BLOGS ON WHAT THEY NEED TO DO....

Well, they can expect some backlash..

And when they come back and try to "undercut" others..

They can expect more criticism.....

No one was harsh due to non conforming..

A couple of people "called it like it is."

I FIRMLY STAND BY MY CONVICTIONS...

Best pay attention sweetie..

You've missed 3/4 of the process...

I know it was a month in the making before I ever came back on. I haven't read every blog by the person in question...

But when someone tries to school others on "dating"and then claims in the next breath they have never been single... Well, that's just stupid...

Even KOBE BRYANT knows how to use "social media"...

He used it to announce he was retiring yesterday..

Isn't that right Clothesking?

OH! And further..

When women give other women POOR ADVICE that could get them RAPED or worse...

It is a wiser woman's DUTY to set the record straight..

Ladies--- NEVER contact ANYONE who blocks out information on their business card..

and NEVER ask a man to contact ANOTHER MAN to see if you are a "match" ...

At best, it's stupid advice..

at worst.. it will get you hurt..

I say it like it is...

Too bad if some are so PC they don't like it!

I suppose it is the succession of persons who posted blog after blog, day after day.  So, along comes a blog like this and it unleashes everyone’s frustrations.

****@HOPING****

There is still a hope and chance between the 2 of you ...common you are not living on the other side of the world just like me ...

If he make the distance as an excuse then he is not for you  ...just saying ...sorry

To tell you the truth , there are already 2 MM members who came to Munich to see me but was not repeated because I said no ...one made plans without me and one was quite arrogant and thought I will do everything what he wants ...not the life and partner Im seeking .. I prefer to stay solo and do my own thing ...

He lives quite a ways from me, works full-time and is leaving on vaction for Christmas.. so trust me..

It may be a future friendship, but it will be moving at a turtle pace.

That doesn't exactly fit the passion I seek.. But I had a good time.. ;-)
