No dog, the black and white one lived 250 miles north of me. He was 16 [human years] before he went to chase balls in the sky [ that was his name Sky]. The family knew that I was within a 1/2 mile of the house whenever I went north. Sky would just go NUTS. He was my buddy, I miss him and his humans Really miss him. In the next life, if you come back as a dog, you'll want them to be your humans.

Plans for X-mas are as follows:  cook a Big pot of Moose Track Soup and hope somebody shows up to help me drink it. If I was roasting a Moose Hind Quarter I'd have no problem. [note to self: shoot the moose a day before the season if you have to, you do live out in the woods, DUH]

Cell phones and internet will keep me connected this year. Hope you have a chance to be with your family and Santa brings you that big bag of money   :-]

Chaga might help you to feeling better. Get those antioxidants in your system. Wormwood is another good one but chaga is best.

Now about my pipe and your pocket       :-]

Darlin, I am hurting from sitting and no exercise!!! I stay in literally the same position all day/night on the laptop. I broke down and moved to desk yesterday and forced myself towalk for an hour!!! I will look into Chaga.

I thought that dog was soooo cool!!! What a special little buddy!!! He went to puppy heaven? :(

I have plans with friends in area for Christmas.  Kids are too far away.. I'm determined 2016 is the best year yet! I will survive 2015..

Moose track soup? NO THANK YOU!!!

Now about my pocket?? ;-)

I guess the fancier the pipe, the more rich the look. It's like a man, 50, driving a Porche to draw the women into his lack of Bal*'s lifestyle. The divorce drained half of his assets, and thatCheck for the 3 kids he injected his Former Wife with is $1500.00/ month.. That Eye-Candy he dates drains him of a grand/Month, and those sales figures are not working nicely with his budget...My pipe cost me $29.95- An Italian Pipe. The Blend costs me a buck an ounce per blend; That suits me. I sometimes put a wee dram of 12Scotch in the blend...It burns well.

If you're looking for an expensive car, you might try a dealer in Dubai...Many owners abandon their high priced cars all over the city...Just can't make the payments...

...SOOOooo...Time to get back to Texas Hold-Em,and smoking my pipe...(:LV1:)

Hey LEON----

I'm not so  sure I consider 50 as old... I consider more a man in his 60's to be coming of an older age... Of course, I never thought that when I was 30.. LOL...

So you have an Italian pipe and play Texas Hold-em... I  worked at a bar in Florida where everyone played that. The closest I got to playing cards was getting drunk and dancing on the card table. Oh, my younger years.... *sigh... No, the owner was NOT pleased!

I have some tobacco that I could try, but I stopped smoking cigarettes and thinking of a pipe doesn't appeal to me. It seems so  masculine. (Of course, advertising for it, I don't say this, as there are many women who do not view smoking as I do.) I have even used a photo of Andy McDowell smoking a briar.. She looked hot!

Are you ready for Christmas? Do you celebrate Christmas?

HOPE ALL IS GOING WELL~~~~~~

You need the word some and that is a nice looking Pipe.

I don't care for the band around the stem, but even so that is a nice looking pipe.

RMAC---

HA! HA! You got me there!!!

That is, unless "some" need be only stated ONCE.. (as if "some" is a given for men as well... )

Obviously I am still single,  therefore perhaps I didn't need the "experience" with ANY men.. whether it be ONCE or 100!! HA!

English pipes are defintely more "sleek." But, for looks.. I prefer the Danish uniqueness. ;-)

As with any wood pipe, weather it be for tobacco or pot, if its getting hot stop smoking it or you'll burn the bowl, duh.

My pipe smoking days started in Army bootcamp 1976. Drill Sergeant [Maddog] Davis was good friends with our company commander who smoked a pipe and who's birthday was comming up. Come payday it was "suggested" how nice it would be if our whole platoon had a pipe in their mouth for morning inspection come the CO's birthday [it did not matter if you liked smoking or not] [remember "suggested"].

I don't know what ever happened to that cheep $2.00 pipe. Years later one of the hundred footers that I've fished on, the owner/captain was a very serious pipe smoker. Having a small warehouse of some high quality tabacco on board I was encouraged to buy myself a nice pipe and see which flavors that I liked. The Fisherman blend is light to the taste and pleasant to the nose. Some of his stuff was so thick it was like smoking tar, eww. I seldon puff my pipe these days, haven't bought any new tobacco in years now, humm, maybe I should get a few fresh ounces   :-]  I have 2 pipes that I like, both are small.

Hoping, puff gently. If your going to be outside on a windy day you need to firmly pace your bowl in layers. Each layer will burn down and light the layer underneath. If your bowl starts getting hot put your thumb over the hole until it cools, just the wind can keep your pipe burning and charcoal the bowl. The flat end on your silver thing is for packing your bowl, the other end is for digging out what is left.

I have a Danish pipe.  It looks about as wild as that one does.  Never smoked it much.  It won’t fit properly in any sort of pipe holder, perhaps the Danish make suitable pipe holders for them.

The English make the best pipes.   My opinion of course.  Most not exotic looking at all.  Just big bowled pipes.  Could also say, ”Just big bold pipes.”  Both would be accurate.

The English also blend the best pipe tobacco, again my opinion.  None of them, in my experience,  would be worth a darn for attracting the ladies though.

Smoked cigars for a few years after leaving academia.   Did not consciously quit, just did.  Don’t think pipes and cigars are anywhere near as addicting as cigarettes.

The Danish pipes are definitely more unique looking. The English pipes have a more sleek look and seem more efficient due to the bowl.. although there are some Danish that have larger bowls...

I do not know anything about tobacco, but I can tell you a girl should never decide to try "chewing tobacco"---

YEP! I sure did..

Picture it..

I was 17.. working at a BBQ/Hotel place in Port Aransas, Texas..

The cook was a gay dude that chewed.

Told me it was cool and I would catch a buzz...

HONEY, ALL I CAUGHT WAS DIZZY AND THROWING UP!!!

@ Hope – What is this old man pipes madness?  I smoked a pipe as a college student.  Also later on as a college professor.  Gave it up when I left those hallowed halls.  Still have all the good ones though.  Decoration now.  A really good pipe cost a lot of money.  Relatively of course.  What was a lot then does not sound like “a lot” now.  Have not been in a “high class” pipe shop in years.  Have no idea what a good one would cost now.

@ Fishy – My experience always was that the good smelling pipe tobacco tasted terrible and burned too hot.  I think Flying Dutchman was one of the good smelling brands.  Its only virtue was that the girls loved it -- worth having just for that.  It would burn down your pipe though.

RMAC @ FISHY---

I will email you guys my "pipe guy." I designed an online store for one of my clients. First online store I've ever created! I maintain and monitor it, post for him on social sites, make weekly flyers and a montly newsletter, etc.. That is what my business is. (Thus WHY I grow tired of being on the computer and come and go.) For a while it was so drab in here when I would pop in and read, but I had no energy to participate. Never thought I would say...

I'M SICK OF THE COMPUTER!!

Anyway, my client refurbishes "grandpa pipes" (using alcohol retort) .... he sells on consignment and owns pipes outright. He also cleans and mails pipes back to the customer. It's a huge task to properly clean a pipe. He has to do his cleaning outdoors and it takes a lot of precision and skill to make a pipe where it smells and looks as close to unsmoked as possible. I have found some pipes to be absolutely beautiful!

I favor the Danish pipes. I find the Ben Wade line to be a favorite. Unique.. That's what I like!

My client sent me a present in the mail a while back. I am NOW the proud owner of a DERBY PIGSKIN! ;-)

He put tobacco in the box, too. Smells like chocolate and raisins! I have the little silver thing.. (I had no idea what it was for?) But have since found it is for the tobacco to push it down the bowl. I have a little case to take it with me.. You know, so I can sit around with the old grandpa geezers and "burn!" HA!

I called him and asked if people smoked dope in pipes? FISHY, he explained to me thatt glass pipes are for dope cuz you would burn the bowl and it would get too hot in a briar. Guess you have ALL KINDS of pipes! LoL...

I may go to a pipe show with him and his wife in March. It's in Chicago.

I'm trying to learn about the bowl types, etc. I could see how people collect them, as I find some are quite pretty. My pipe isn't pretty or valuable, but it's my first one! I smoked a cigar before with a male friend while we were drinking wine, so who knows... Perhaps a pipe is in my future?

And FISHY-----

I told my client... Pipe? The last pipe I ever touched was a cobra.. I was 17 and it was called a bong! LOLOLOL...

MAC--- I could see you being a pipe smoking professor!  ;-)
