So, I met this woman at Starbucks. We'd been chatting for a week or two and decided to have coffee. I was there first. She showed and looked pretty good. But, as soon as she saw I was a little cuddly she made excuses and left. Even though her profile, and the vibes she sent online and on the phone said she wasn't looking for Mr Athletic. I'm not fat by a long score. But it's been a while (20 years) since I had a six pack. How many women want Mr Perfect? Do you picture yourself on an island with the guy in the picture above? And to the guys. Do you feel intimidated when you see a discription on a profile saying Athletic?

I agree with cateyes71, maybe it wasn't your physical shape that caused the reaction.

LOL..i'm with a few of you, i prefer a man with some physical 'flaws' cause i have them as well. I tend to stay away from the ones who are 'super hot, super athletic'--hey, i enjoy my lazy lifetime movie days on the couch, what can i say!! *grins*

I am sorry that you had a unpleasant experience, but don't be so quick to judge. I had talked with someone and had some very lovely conversation, but upon meeting and going out with this person found that I was simply not attracted to them. However if she did not tell you why she should have. We all need some closure as to why one does not want to be left in the dark. Good luck next time.

I guess you guys could be right. We had chatted for a while. Exchanged pictures. Maybe there really was no chemistry. Oh my! There really is a woman who thinks I have faults! No harm. I'll survive.

How do you know she made excuses and left as soon as she saw you were "a little cuddly"? I, too, am twenty years removed from stud status, and every once in awhile I feel a little insecure about my body. (Although this past weekend, I had my twenty-year high school reunion, and in comparison to all the former jocks, I still am a stud!) Is it possible that maybe you're just a bit insecure about the shape you're in, so you're just attributing her hasty retreat to your stature?

flyrr did she see more than the one picture of you? I mean you look like you have a few extra lbs in the pic but its so grainy hard to tell. If she didnt request more pics then its her own fault. And if she did and she didnt like what she saw I would gather it wasnt so much the weight but more of a simple no chemistry thing. You look cute but not everyone is going to feel that attraction even if you look good. get what i'm saying?

Personally, I prefer men who don't have a 'perfect' body....That's just not important to me....

Just out of curiosity, what makes you think she was ducking out because of your size?

Sorry fyrr, at least you are one cup of coffee ahead of me! Any of us that admit to aging, have to admit that our bodies change with age. What zipped thru us in our 20s, lingers with us now. Perhaps we don't admit a few extra pounds because we really plan to get rid of them, some how, some day, hopefully before we meet for coffee, lol Any woman that still thinks there is a PERFECT MAN probably thinks there are Millionaires on this site. No, we don't want MR PERFECT.....he is vain, boring and endlessly cruising. We want the real McCoy in all his glory.
