Hello dear reading fans,

March is the prelude to springtime, and the time for new beginnings. It's a perfect time to learn something new in your life.

What do you feel compelled to learn about this month?

What are you reading?

I just received two books in the mail that I ordered last week:

Today I Begin a New Life: Intentional Creation by Dave Blanchard, 2012

The Observer's Chair: The Miracle of Healing Self-Esteem by Dave Blanchard, 2012

Both are excellent books with a new approach to taking back control over your life. I love this author because he is a life coach and has done a lot of research on how we react to stress physically, mentally, and emotionally and how to not allow life's ups and downs to thwart our plans for the future. Those are subjects I've chosen to learn about for the month of March.

How about you?

What subject are you investigating this month?

What are you reading?

Thank-you Bewell :)  Our kids have it much different these days, that's for sure!!  Instant photos, editing, sharing, they are so lucky!

Thank-you for your kind message.  I have no clue yet where I'm moving, lol. I'm a procrastinator. I better start looking, I want to move before it gets too hot. The last time I moved it was 107 out, way too hot for physically working outside moving boxes, etc.

Have a nice weekend everyone!

I would have loved to have even one scrapbook page of my mother's, she never got to make one.  It would be one of the treasured items I could ever have.  I love the most personal ones with the handwritten note and explanation like the page that was posted. They are much more than photos, there is a personal story attached that can sometimes help you relive that special moment, or if there is no memory, you get to learn something. I don't know who's scrapbook page that is but the mother's love shines through, just perfect.

It nearly tears me apart that I really know so little about my mom's likes, etc. and have very few photos of my childhood.

Once I move, I think I am gonna step it up and start some new pages and finish the very few I've started.  I bought a really good photo printer recently but haven't used it yet.

* I'm still a little on topic, a scrapbook is a book :)

Jenkneee,

I too have very few photos from my childhood. Not everyone "back in the day" owned a camera. And no movies either as home movie cameras were rare.

My heart goes out to you that you knew too little about your mother. Good luck with the new home, new printer and the scrapbooks you're finishing and creating. I'm sure they will be beautiful........... BeWell

As You are aware .... " The Pen Is Mightier Than The Sword ".

In the same vein..... " The Power of Words come to Mind  ".

Question... Don't You Think A Journal or Photo Album would be nicer to keep track of the Grand-children, instead of a  " Scrapbook " which sounds kinda thrashy....or is it just me ?.

Ooh ! Dang, wish I had a " scrapbook " or the Journal and Photo Albums I had started many decades ago, but that's another Blog Topic ?.

Sincerely,

Hi SilverLion,

It's good to hear from you! We've missed you on the blogs!

The word "scrapbook" does sound kind of cheap and trashy. Not sure how the word was coined, but I agree, it should have a name more indicative of what it is--a creative photo collage of sweet memories.

Thanks for your insightfulness................. BeWell............;-D

Hello there BEWELL---

Wanted to share something I JUST saw on television..

I will be purchasing a book called "Until I say Good-Bye" by Susan Spencer-Wendel.

Wife of 21 years, mother of 3 and accomplished journalist gets ALS and writes this book on her IPhone with her one thumb she can move!! She writes about "Living her last year in Joy."

I'm a firm believer our Trials and Adversities are what define our character. It is women as Susan, my GF Jean, and even Valerie Harper, where I draw inspiration and anxiously remind myself how much I have to look forward to living life, regardless how difficult the circumstances may be at times.

This is definitely the next book on my list!!!

Now for the 50? I would never have bought or turned the pages to the 2nd or 3rd book. If my friend did not already have it on tapes, and challenge me on listening, I would not have considered it. The problem I see is... So many women ARE enjoying it and don't realize what poor writing it is, as well as not being realistic. The author does not have the basics in psycology or human emotion for certain! I saw one interview and a woman was saying how it spiced up her dull sex life with her husband and now she is pregnant! They are saying there is a new baby boom going on!

Your comment does make me wonder however,,,, How many are reading, or listening, not enjoying, but just watching the train wreck anyway? And what was WRONG with the 70's soaps! Didn't you love LUKE AND LAURA!! LOL...

Glad life is treating you well!! START THAT SCRAPBOOK! ;)

Hi Hoping,

Until I Say Goodbye sounds like a profound tear jerker. Yes, the strength of amazing people can be very inspiring. Thanks for sharing information with us about this new book.

About what's wrong with the 70s soaps... I wasn't talking about the soaps, but the reason why so many people were addicted to them, including myself. Was it because they were starving for emotional connections so they were living it out in the soaps? I don't know. Any psychologists here who could help us out with this question?

When I was in college during the 70s, there were tons of people addicted to the soaps-- cutting class and watching them on the TVs in the Student Union--men as well as women. And Yes, I did it too. Couldn't miss out on Luke and Laura. ;-D

And so go "the days of our lives"....;-D.............. BeWell

HI SILVER-

A "Journal" by definition is simply articles or writings.

A "Photo Album" encompasses photos.

A "SCRAPBOOK" is merely a newer word ones use for an extremely popular "hobby" of keeping ANYTHING. The difference is, the crafty individual gets to make each page distinct and it takes more thought than just placing a photo or article in an album.

There are actually scrapbooking contest, and groups that meet up, etc.. Kind of like stamps were popular long ago..

I think when she and I discussed this long ago right after she became a Grandma, I even mentioned getting something like a "treasure chest" to decorate and put keepsakes in..

Scrapbooks are very popular these days. I saw a court show where one "scrapper" sued another for throwing her out of the "club!" HA! The President of the club said her skills were lax and wanted her out! These people go crazy over it! They even make digital scrapbooks now!

Hope you are doing well!! ;)

HI BEWELL---

Couple of things...

I finished the second "50 SHADES" (DARKER) via disc... Bit better than the iniital "50"... But OH MY! Never would I waste time "reading" this MUTTERING MURMURS!! LOL...

So now my friend is giving me disc by disc of the FINAL of the trilogy.. About 100 more disc and I will be FREED!! HA!HA!!! ... ;)

I am reading MAX LUCADO -- "Traveling Light" and will be purchasing a book this evening to read between those 2 topics..

Hope you are doing well!! Have you seen the grandbaby lately? And have you started the scrapbook yet?

Hello Hoping,

I think in a few years there's going to be shrinks trying to analyze the 50 Shades viral phenomonon. What keeps women reading it even though they hate it? I can't figure it out. I guess it's kind of the same as the soap operas were in the 70s and 80s. Ha!

Thanks for catching us up on what you've been reading. I'm reading 2 books for work right now, and won't be able to get back to my regular reading until I've finished them.

Thank you for asking about me and my grandbaby. No I haven't started that scrapbook yet and that is a good idea.  I can't believe he will be a year old in April. I am doing fine and my health is good. Can't wait for warm weather!............ BeWell

Hi Tinkerbelle,

Not sure what you meant. This is my regular blog that's been running for quite some time now. It has nothing to do with the library event of last month, if that's what you were talking about. This one is just about books.

Are you reading anything interesting right now?.............. BeWell
