The talking heads said that Obama won the election by using a mathematical approach in the swing states. Pretty savy I'd say! What do you all think about it....mathematical approaches and all? I wish my mind could think that way.

Quoting easymantolove:

Our founding fathers created the electoral college for two reasons:

The first purpose was to create a buffer between population and the selection of a President because the founding fathers were afraid of direct election to the Presidency. They feared a tyrant could manipulate public opinion and come to power.

The second as part of the structure of the government that gave extra power to the smaller states.

Each state is given one electoral vote for each member of congress and each member of congress is set by census/population numbers and of course the congressional districts which are a constant source of political/legal fighting.

The electoral college is "used" by understanding pockets and trends.  Some states are historically party specific/centric and vary little from election to election while other states can go either way.  If you look at my state (Florida), Romney carried the vast geographical portion of the state however he failed to carry the population centers (mostly the hispanic vote) and because the electoral votes go to the majority, he lost Florida.

What politicians do is focus their efforts on states they can "flip" by concentrating on the areas they can flip within that state.  Look at the Ohio map (again, Romney carried most of the rural areas while Obama carried the populated areas).

Battleground states exist because they can flip/vote either way.

You've got it right.  Your explanation was well written and understandable.  That'a exactly what Obama did. He concentrated on the most populated areas in the swing states.

People have proved by eye witnesses that fraud happened and nothing is being done about it. The military didn't get their ballots thanks for Panetta. How can this f$$king election even be called for the evil one? Romney had to not only compete with o's ads and bad mouthing him but he had the lame stream media doing his bidding. Til obama is done with our country we are not going to recognize her. He said in his first campaign he was going to fundamentally change America and I'll be damned he's kept his word! I hate him and this administration. I do pray sometimes for him and that he'll make the right decision for our country but he's doing more harm than good. He sides with the muslim brotherhood and he said he'd side with the muslims every time. I can't believe the stupidity of people. The strings that are attached to all the goodies and freebies he's given them are not visible yet. He's already said he'd not stand with the gays his second term...got their votes now screw ya. He cut food stamps to people in Ohio by $50 a month per family...got their votes now screw ya. obama is about obama...he love the power, the perks and the planes. He is not a smart man...he sounds like he is when he reads from his best friend the Telly Prompter the words that someone else has written. He hates our military and will eventually, in my humble opinion, will do away with them. Ok I'll shut up now.

The most important note here is that OBAMA SIDES WITH MUSLIMS.  He said this in his autobiography; I seem to recall he's said it in at least one interview since then, but I'm not sure.

He did indeed say that if push comes to shove, he will side with Muslims.

And now he is saying simply:  Israel has a right to defend herself. But has he said we will help Israel?  Has he indicated in any way that we areon Israel's side?

NO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  Israel, I'm afraid, is now on her own.  Thank God this tiny country has Netanyahu as her leader.  If I could wish for anything politically, I would wish that Netanyahu could be the President of the USA tomorrow--today.  If he were, this country would turn around so quickly and so drastically--toward what all Constitutionalists are hoping and praying for--that it would make liberals heads spin so drastically they would not be able to do so much as drink a simple glass of water for a couple of weeks for how nauseated it make them all feel.

Hmm... Let's see if I can follow the logic here...

Obama = bad at math hence deficit.

Romney = business man hence good at math.

Victory = Obama (bad at math) > Romney (good at math)  ∴ Romney = bad at math AND Obama = good at math.

That about sum it up?

Not really.  There's a heck of a lot of machinations going on besides this one.

The problem is that there are a lot of fraud votes and illegal voters.  Apparently this time there were millions.  The electoral college could correct that problem if it became necessary.   And, no, every vote probably should not count. I am not happy about people being bussed in that can't speak English and can only utter one word, Obama,  and then someone helps them vote.  Not happy at all. Apparently this happened in Cleveland, Ohio, as witnessed by a friend of mine.

btw, you can now expect a economic collapse, for sure.

Let me clarify. Every vote that is legal and with a photo ID showed should be counted as one..in my opinion. I do agree that there is  a lot of voter fraud that has happened in various ways and of course, I am not happy about it.

I have to wonder if the president is elected or selected.

I think the electoral college needs to go! Every vote should count as one. The whole system needs to change. Third parties should get their time as well as anyone else in a debate.etc.  The RNC changed rules at the last minute which led to robbing Ron Paul of the nomination.

I was surprised the way they have us vote now. They had me just scan who I voted for which seemed odd to me.
