Narcissists are the most meek people. They are ready to do everything to make you think, that they're smart and beautiful. In fact, all their internal resources they spend to be praised, to be noticed, to be loved and to be served. And nothing else they need from you. ;-)

HI DI... So sorry to hear of your ill parents... I hope your mother gets better soon.. Heart problems are very scary.. DI.. What I know of you from here.. I would say Florida is a good move should you choose so. We may not always agree on politics, but I know your focuses stem from your heart and I would venture to say if you are seriously contemplating the move and don't do it.. you may regret not acting on it when it is too late... Also, "when" one parent passes.... (sorry.. hate this topic) BUT... when one does pass... the other parent would be so blessed to have you there and already settled. Just fact the have been together so long is amazing in itself... The emptiness "Long Time Loves" must feel when one goes .. well I can't imagine... In fact, most can't.. Most relationships don't last long.. I have some things I must do.. but I have been "collecting mud" LOL and will get back to you on your political thoughts soon... I just wanted to take a minute regardless and say hello, wish your mother well and express my views on your contemplative move .. Don't know how familiar you are with Florida.. but it's all good if you like HEAT!! LOL Take care... and I'll be back!! (Goes to grab her bucket to fill with mud!! HaHa!!) :)))

Ahhh....Dear Hope. Thank you for the kind words. Yes, I've been very busy with work and sick parents. My mother was back in the hospital with heart problems again this weekend. I may in fact try to move to Florida in the near future in order to try to be closer to my parents. I'll have to watch out for the blue-hairs though! I have experienced a few of them already. lol I certainly acknowledge anyone's right to their opinions....they are just not entitled to make up their own facts. The photo had nothing to do with the Pledge of Allegiance and the circulated email was false. I just wish you would use more fundamental criteria to judge leadership skills. But I do grant you this…President Bush may appear to be like a little boy in a candy store. He indeed looks like something…just not very Presidential. *wink* Now, just for grins....what exactly does socialism mean to you? It seems to me that we already have a blended economy/country....part socialism and part capitalism. We have Medicare, Medicaide, Veterans Administration, the armed forces, Nasa that are 100% socialistic programs. Additionally, the fire department, police department, public schools, certain hospitals, public library, parks, roads, bridges, sidewalks, bike paths, subways, port authority, Electric Cooperatives, public transit that are also examples of socialism. We also have big agriculture being supported and new professional sports arenas being built with socialism. Please explain what your greatest fears are regarding socialism taking over this country. It seems like a terrifying concept to so many.....so I'm just seeking clarification of what exactly the fear is. "WE THE PEOPLE SHOULD BE MAKING OUR GOVERNMENT, NOT THE GOVERNMENT MAKE THE PEOPLE!" (I have no idea what this comment means) I hope you are doing well my Dear and very Warm wishes! :) ~D

~~ HI Our Lovely Lady DI~~ Hope things are going well for you! I know work keeps you busy.. But busy is usually good in my book! ;) As per your post... I would have to say I respectfully disagree and here is why.. 1) Although it is not "mandatory" to place hand over heart during our National Anthem.. I do believe that since MOST PEOPLE DO... It is prudent for a Presidential candidate or a President .. to do so.. HE IS TO BE OUR "LEADER".... 2) If Obama IS an American.. WHY NOT PRODUCE A TRUE BIRTH CERTIFICATE from the start when the American citizens HE WORKS FOR.. question him.. Seems it would have been an easy enough issue to address since we now have such stringent laws since 9-11 and I could not even get my licensed renewed without producing mine .. plus my divorce papers... I would think a President or any candidate would have it right on hand being as it is a MAJOR REQUIREMENT to be the President of the United States of America,,, 3) So far as the flag being turned wrong way? I imagine he was "fired up" and excited to be an AMERICAN... and was showing his patriotism...He looked PROUD and like a little kid HAPPY to be in the candy store!! Obama did not look "Proud" or "Happy" in the picture I posted.. But perhaps he was constipated?? I'm just glad Bush has such an awesome wife by his side to note him of his mistake! Most men would be blessed to have such a dedicated side kick! I have held signs up at football games upside down not realizing this! Easy enough thing to do I know from experience... Personally, I'd like to see Obama waving our flag period! Michele Obama rubbed me the wrong way initially when she said she was ashamed to be an American... during his political campaign... I am not happy with everything going on... BUT I AM NOT ASHAMED TO BE AN AMERICAN! However, if we turn to socialism.. I will be.. WE THE PEOPLE SHOULD BE MAKING OUR GOVERNMENT, NOT THE GOVERNMENT MAKE THE PEOPLE! 4) With Bush signing our "Symbol" for our country? WHO BETTER TO SIGN IT?? I do not consider this defiling our flag... I consider it "declaration" of the symbol the entire world uses to know who we are... I think any President has earned the "right" to do so.... In the same sense I would feel any "Miss AMERICA" has earned that right. I LOVE MY PINK AND BLACK... HOWEVER... VERY "PROUD" AND "HAPPY" TO BE AN AMERICAN GIRL and to wear RED, WHITE and BLUE!!!! ;)

My source:
PolitiFact, a non-partisian fact checking agency: The Truth-O-Meter Says: The STORY IS FALSE

Obama "refused to not only put his hand on his heart during the Pledge of Allegiance, but refused to say the pledge."
Chain e-mail on Thursday, November 8th, 2007 in an e-mail circulated by many people.
Photo was taken during anthem, not pledge

Share this story:
A chain e-mail says a photograph shows Barack Obama is unpatriotic because he "refused" to say the Pledge of Allegiance and did not put his hand over his heart.
In the photograph, Barack Obama is standing in front of an American flag with his hands clasped just below his waist. Beside him are Bill Richardson and Hillary Clinton, with their hands on their hearts.
The e-mail notes that Obama's middle name is "Hussein" and says he "REFUSED TO NOT ONLY PUT HIS HAND ON HIS HEART DURING THE PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE, BUT REFUSED TO SAY THE PLEDGE.....how in the hell can a man like this expect to be our next Commander-in-Chief????"
But the Time magazine photograph wasn't taken during the Pledge of Allegiance; it was taken during the singing of the Star-Spangled Banner.
The Obama photo was taken Sept. 16 in Indianola, Iowa, at the Harkin Steak Fry, an annual political event hosted by U.S. Sen. Tom Harkin. The caption on the Time photo says Obama and the others "stand during the national anthem."
Matt Paul, an organizer of the event, and a video from ABC News confirm that the photo was taken as someone sang the Star-Spangled Banner .
Oddly, the accurate caption from Time is included in the chain e-mail. But someone has added that "the article said" Obama refused to say the pledge and would not put his hand on his heart.
****There is no such article on the Time Web site, and searches of the Web and newspaper/magazine databases could only find blog postings that repeat the claim from the e-mail. So it's unclear where the allegation originated.****
Obama said the e-mail was false and that the picture was taken during the anthem.
"My grandfather taught me how to say the Pledge of Allegiance when I was 2," Obama said at campaign stop in Burlington, Iowa. "During the Pledge of Allegiance you put your hand over your heart. During the national anthem you sing."
He called the e-mail "irritating" and likened it to others that have falsely said he is a Muslim.
The photo has stirred up such a fuss that on Wednesday night the Obama campaign released a letter of support from retired military leaders.
"Senator Obama's attackers are peddling lies and smears because they disagree with his strong opposition to the war in Iraq and the rush to war in Iran," wrote Richard Danzig, secretary of the Navy under President Clinton, and retired Gens. Merrill "Tony" McPeak and J. Scott Gration. "We have served this nation for decades, and we know a true patriot when we see one. Barack Obama is a patriot."
The photo has also spawned a debate about whether Obama's conduct was proper for the national anthem.
Conservative bloggers have pointed out that the federal law for "patriotic and national observances" says that during the Star-Spangled Banner , "all present except those in uniform should stand at attention facing the flag with the right hand over the heart; men not in uniform should remove their headdress with their right hand and hold the headdress at the left shoulder, the hand being over the heart."
Experts on the national anthem say the law seems a bit out of date, given its reference to a man's "headdress." Yet it's still cited in several military manuals found on the Web.
Modern custom does not require a hand over the heart, said Anne Garside, director of communication for the Maryland Historical Society, home of the original manuscript of the Star-Spangled Banner . "I think the bottom line is that you show respect with your demeanor," she said. "Whether you put your hand over your heart, hold your hat at shoulder level or waist level, is really in this day and age irrelevant."
She pointed out that "the tune of the Star-Spangled Banner was originally a drinking song. If they can put the words to the tune of a rousing drinking song, to quibble over whether you put your hand over your heart is really ridiculous."

I'm sorry Hope~ You have been manipulated to form an opinion through deceit. How about this man? Does this gesture show an "utter DISREGARD for others feelings"???

MAYO CLINIC REPORTS: Narcissistic personality disorder is a mental disorder in which people have an inflated sense of their own importance and a deep need for admiration. Those with narcissistic personality disorder believe that they're superior to others and have little regard for other people's feelings. But behind this mask of ultra-confidence lies a fragile self-esteem, vulnerable to the slightest criticism. Narcissistic personality disorder is one of several types of personality disorders. Personality disorders are conditions in which people have traits that cause them to feel and behave in socially distressing ways, limiting their ability to function in relationships and in other areas of their life, such as work or school. Narcissistic personality disorder treatment is centered around psychotherapy. DEFINITION OF MEEK: (Merriam-Webster online) 1: enduring injury with patience and without resentment : mild 2: deficient in spirit and courage : submissive 3: not violent or strong : moderate My rational mind deduces a person CANNOT be BOTH.. True "NARCISSISM" is a severe "mental disorder"... in which one lives in a fantasy land believing they are above others in importance and value and therefore CANNOT be humble individuals. It is not possible for their brains to operate in that manner. They do NOT act with others feelings in mind. They are calculated individuals with no regard for others emotions or well being who readily take advantage of people. People with narcissistic personalities have difficulty keeping ongoing relationships and are often angered. MEEK individuals are NON-VIOLENT (anger is NOT in their personalities) and have patience and understanding, PAT.. I have heard Obama being referred many times as having a true narcissistic personality.. I don't know him personally and am not licensed to make a definitive judgment... HOWEVER, in definition by our OUTSTANDING MAYO CLINIC... My rationality concludes that any AMERICAN who feels they are "above" placing their hand over their heart during our "Pledge of Allegiance" or our beautiful "National Anthem"... Well... They just might be... Oh wait.. He isn't AMERICAN is he?? LOL I've no doubt this showed utter DISREGARD for others feelings, esp our awesome military who place their lives on the line for our country! Growing up through elementary when my little mind was being shaped and throughout Jr. High as it was molded.. I was FORCED to WALK OUTSIDE of the classroom ALONE... EVERY DAY while all my peers placed their hand over their heart and recited our Pledge to our country... All a child wants to do is "fit in".... Well, I took COMPLETE OFFENSE to Obama and never paid attention to anything he stated after. I do not care what affiliation he is politically, religiously, race, yada, yada... Had he been on the other team. I'd not voted for him either!! NO MAN OR WOMAN BELONGS BEING THE PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA IF THEY FEEL "ABOVE" PLACING THEIR HAND OVER THEIR HEART IN FRONT OF OUR FLAG!! NARCISSISTIC OR NOT!! JMHO... BUT I AM RIGHT ON THIS ONE!! LOL
