Sometime back you gave me the name of a book written on the subject of psychopaths or sociopaths. Said it was better than one I had mentioned. I read it, but now can not remember author or title.
This commentary was in one of wwww's blogs, I think. Can't find it there now either.
The book I had mentioned is, "The Psychopath Next Door," by Martha Stout, Ph.D.

"The Psychopath Test" by Jon Ronson is worth reading. Only about one third of the book is about the title subject. Still, he sees it from a deferent angle; overall the book is interesting.

Actually it was a current blog by "onedayinparis" named "think twice" that made me wonder. The book you (Curious) suggested back then was "Without Conscience" by Robert Hare. Thanks. I may read it again.
I think I have only experienced one perhaps two of them and then we only called them evil. Not my judgment on the first one. My parents plus some others in the community made that judgment. I was only six years old then.
So no, I am not under any threat that I know of.

Oooh. Very interesting, Oneday. I've never heard of Ron Jonson. I will have to check him out. Thanks so much for posting the information.
Quoting onedayinparis:
It´s the new book from Ron Jonson "the psychopath test".
In fact like curious2078 said there are many books concerning psychopaths. I just like this one new because Ron Jonson has done his research with Robert D Hare.
And Robert D Hare is my favourite writer concerning this pathology because he knows it very well.

Ah, thank you B. I was hoping you would chime in with titles. Your memory is so much better than mine is. That's why you're the engineer and I'm not.
No book report now, though. I think I actually gave a book report a while back. But I could be wrong. Maybe I only dreampt that I did. LOLOL.
Quoting wwww12345:
Pat read all three of the books. Maybe she will give us a book report.
Robert Hare is the name of the author who did the primary research. here are some references.
This Charming Psychopath: How to Spot Social Predators Before They Attack - by Robert Hare An excerpt from "Without Conscience", published by Psychology Today

Oh, boy. Off the top of my head I'm not sure. I do think Stout has two books, though. Not quite sure. Hang on. Let me do some Googling.
Ah. It was something by one Robert Hare, I think. Okay, the only one Hare book I have on my shelf is "Without Conscience." I think that might be the one you're thinking of.
Additionally, if you Google "Books on Psychopaths," you'll get a very long list of very interesting reading. If you then Google "Books on Sociopaths [and they are by most, or many, experts in the field considered to be the same creature], you'll get a more or less different list.
[Oh, and yes, the first two books I read were recommended by 5ws. Or is it 4ws. Whichever, we both know who we're talking about. The guy in the black leather jacket. LOL]
Many, many good books out there these days on the subject.
I just hope you haven't run into one recently that has forced your interest. Hope your interest is in the preventative measures category, Mac.
Be safe.
