Shall be going to see that at the theatre tomorrow. It is one of my favourite musicals. Seems to have some pretty good reviews and the costumes look amazing! I do love going to the theatre when I can. Does anyone have any favourite shows? Sarah

Quoting Thurrock:

Mama Mia Miss Saigon Blood Brothers Les Miserables No sex Please Were British Pump Boys and the Dinette We Will Rock You South Pacific etc I love theatres versus cinemas.

Wow Thurrock, some great shows there! I love both the cinema and the theatre. Theatre is often a luxury when you look at some of the ticket prices. :-O Sarah

The King and I was spectacular. Really, really good. The people stayed true to the film and characters. The costumes, dances and stage sets were amazing. Has to be the best production I've ever seen. The guy who starred as the king Ramon Tikaram was like the carbon copy of Yul Brynne in his speech and mannerisms. Josefina Gabrielle played Anna and again carbon copy on the singing of Deborah Kerr. Actually one of my fav parts was the ballet of the story of Eliza. Really fascinating. Hopefully there are some video clips on the internet people can view. I've not been to see Greece but have heard that is a fantastic show. I also want to go to see the Phantom of the Opera. I've never got round to seeing that apart from on tv but that's not the same. Think it may be touring here towards the end of the year. Not sure. Sarah

Hi Sarah,Great seeing you again. I don't know very much about plays but remember Yul Brynner stayed on broadway just because of The King and I.He loved that play as a performer and I seem to remember had played the King for several years.Sounds like you made a good choice to me based on Jul's career.

MissMonteCarlo wonderful choice. It's a powerful theatrics and one of my favorites. I haven't seen it in the Theater in my town, but when it comes, I'll order my ticket before it sells. I don't think anyone can take Yul Brynner's place, and Deborah Kerr's place -- but the script is fabulous hence I don't think it matters. You ask what is your favorite show. By show I hope you mean Theater, not movies. I go to the Theater at least once a month, while to movies only once a year (if that) besides I watch streaming.. My favorite Theater production is "GREASE" I've seen it at least 5 times, and keep going back every time it comes to town. The music drives me into a dizzy. There are 23 songs in Grease plus its reprise -- and "Blue Moon" literally sucks my passion to a melting point. I just love the song so much. The movie, The King and I came out in 1956 and I was taken with powerful stature and the eyes of Yul, if your interested to see parts go to: http://www.google.com/url?sa=t&rct=j&q=movie%20the%20king%20and%20i%201956&source=web&cd=6&ved=0CFUQtwIwBQ&url=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.youtube.com%2Fwatch%3Fv%3DPdyqmN5cnRQ&ei=DCMIT-3_HcTSiAKU-6TQCQ&usg=AFQjCNFSjO-nXFOX_Rz1CBfp_5j8YeckUQ&cad=rja I wish I was going with you, I would love seeing it again. In a theater this time. When I saw it we went to the wrong place -- a Drive In -- and was distracted in the back seat. Speaking of it does bring back charming memories. Have 'phun' XX, enjoy, and let us know what you thought of it.
