That new black panther radical threatened me and all white people? I don't know how far this organization reaches that is frightening.I'm less than 2 hours from Philadelphia where he's from. I'm serious. I realize too that this might not be posed. I'd like an opinion seriously.

Sass, Whenever I see that picture of you with Colin Powell how I wish he were still in the public eye. He deserves his retirement after his years of service to our country. He's a true American patriot and I definitely miss his calm demeanor and straight talk. More on point, I think these clowns are more sizzle than they are steak. Their rantings are all over You Tube and frankly they appear stupid. Huey Newton and Bobby Seale both condemned the group and despite the fact that they've been around for the past 20 years they really have had little impact on anything. Let's keep in mind that one of our founding principals is freedom of speech and these miscreants have as much right to spew their message of hatred as the KKK, White Supremacists and even David Duke. Hitler on the other hand was a monster with an Army and an entire nation behind him and Sadaam Hussein was not much better. They both got their just rewards. While I don't condone violence the best response I heard to these New Black Panthers came out of New England. A resident suggested they try that polling place nonsense up there and they'd probably end up in a wood chipper. I think the upside of this whole incident is what's coming out of the hearings regarding the DOJ and the allegations that some former attorneys working for Holder have to say. Did you see his testimony before Congress regarding the AZ Law... I almost fell off my chair when he had to admit that hadn't read the 17 page long law... wow. Let's see how this plays out.

Deke,

Thanks for your kind comments. What irked me about tukerp's comment, was that it implied that the White community was above behaving in a similar fashion as if NO White person ever publicy commented about ethnic groups in a harmful way. Or that there was some kind of double standard against Whites. Give me a break...I despise when people forget history. Bottom line, hate comes in every color and creed. There is no perfect person, period....

Yes Hitler had an army, but it took several years for others to step in and take action against this monster. That's what happens when you give propoganda and an insane leader too much power..We will hopefully not repeat this kind of monstrosity ever again...

Yes I heard about Holder's response and all I can say is that justice and decisions should be based on thouroughly reviewed facts and substrate. Looks like it didn't happen with him..

To DeK, LaN and Shaz I agree with La N that the reparations comment was uncalled for and I know you've apologized in the past when you mispoke. Sass may be sassy but, as her name implies, she's one classy lady. If Colin is one of her heroes then she's one of mine. He was one of the coolest minds to hit the political scene in quite some time and I he hope he makes his voice heard again. Unlike many who have voiced an opinion on the AZ law, I actually read it. It specifically outlaws "racial profiling" and is quite strong compared to the rules that the Federal Border Patrol uses in similar situations. When confronted with suspicion of illegal immigration they are directed to use their "powers of observation and situational awareness". Gov. Brewer realizes that there aren't enough law enforcement officers in Arizona to make a dent in the 650,000 illegals in AZ... but she certainly has directed headlights on the problem of not having secure borders. Can you imagine the cost of housing 1100 illegals in Maricopa County alone? They are murderers, rapists, drug smugglers and human traffickers who are selling young preteen and teenage Mexican girls into prostitution. I'm getting sick of the Fed filing law suits instead of just doing their job but I guess that's what you get when you put a bunch of lawyers in charge. I think Shakespeare got it right. Shaz... I think your mayor might have the solution.... outlaw sugary drinks and put a pot house on every corner.

Well ok.... Oakland is not where I live. BUT putting a pothouse on very corner is a damn good idea, for many reasons. Putting a huge dent in CA unemployment is one.I myself am now employed in the legitimate side of the industry. for those who are not aware and have never indulged, either as a medical patient or recreational... pot is a very mild " drug" it makes people calm down,,its not anything even remotely like alcohol. You do not loose your inhibitions, you do not get wild or crazy... you dont go out to cause trouble or get in fights... you do not get sick from it, you dont barf, you dont blackout ITS A mild Sedative that is relaxing. Medical MJ is a little different in that it is used for lots of conditions where pill type drugs have too many side effects and become toxic over time. It is great for pain relief and a miracle drug for insomnia. No groggy feeling, no sluggish hang over affect...the worst that can happen is you wake up hungry ! Sugary drinks...well sodas ARE Death in a can. Metabolic syndrome is rampant all over and caused largely by such products. Occasional use is ok,,but it was never meant to be consumed in the quantities that people do today. I HAVE an addiction to soda. So i rarely drink it anymore.I used to have breast cysts, stomach aches, diarrhea, irritable bowel syndrome.... ALL of which magically disappeared AFTER I stopped drinking soda daily. I drank diet so weight wasnt an issue but it DOES make you want to consume more sugar. ................................................................... There are far more types of girls sold into sexual slavery than just Mexicans. South east asians from every country ARE being trafficked here..maybe not so much on the West Coast,,but its rampant. ..................................................... Id like to see the country get over this damned infighting and F-ING WORK TOGETHER to FIX OUR country. No one can get anything done in the current climate. The whole mess is disgusting. ........................................................... I sure dont have the knowledge to say much about the inner workings of politics but one thing I do know.....If everyone is using their energy to fight with everyone else at every juncture....NOTHING WILL EVER CHANGE. WE have a duly elected leader. I think its OUR JOB as citizens to help that leader do his JOB. >>>>........................ THIS leave us vulnerable to outside influences and if our enemies are waiting for a good time to strike out..you can bet they will watch and wait until we TEAR OURSELVES TO SHREDS and THEN move in. ..............................................................

WOW.. reparations.. that was a tacky comment directed at Sass (who was polite and President Obama).

I understand your concern about  hate speech Dekan, it's wrong and really is just done for this type of effect:getting people to talk about them when they don't deserve it.

I visited your profile.  I'm confused.  A woman who is open to meeting Black men from an online site who took an obvious swipe at Black people.

I've lived in PA for many years and still have relatives in Harrisburg. There's an old joke about the state: you have Pittsburgh on one side, and Philadelphia on the other. Everything else is Alabama. Nice of Dek to remind us of that. Funny she never mentioned the KKK/neo-nazi rallies that occur regularly in New Hope, just outside Philadelphia. Or, is it simply hate not directed at her ethnic group is irrelevant? And if she has apologized previously for these types of remarks, should that lead us to believe she is in the habit making hateful comments, to the point where others are aware of this pattern of contrition? (Notice, LaN, your name was misspelled in her response.) As the saying goes: Alabama.

deke I'm sorry if I offend people with my opinions but I stick by what I say. I read the bill too and nowhere does it say profiling is ok. They need to be pulled over for another offense before they can asked for anything. When we're pulled over for one thing or another, what is the first thing they ask for? Some sort of ID!!! DING DING DING DING DING! It's all getting votes!!!!!

Hey shaz you are pretty much in the thick of things down there being so close to Oakland. This kind of thing should not go on in any neighborhood anywhere. The Dems run Philly. Hell our own governor is from there and he is always pumping money and anything else to that city. It's Philly and Pittsburgh that kept his sorry in the governor's mansion in Harrisburg for 8 years...gotta keep those people on welfare and food stamps making them beholding to the government. How is your work situation going girl? Hope things are a little better for you...we started out on a bad foot but luv ya hang in!

we evolved D,,,thats the way of the blogs. OAKLAND CAN be a not-so -happy place.Alameda is a much different AND an island so we are insulated here to a large degree. My work closed early the day of the Meserhele verdict,,but nothing happened. Ive heard that Philly is ANOTHER world entirely. One good thing about Ca is that we dont let nuts jobs loose to runamuck. Our citizens take a stand for justice..usually. Some slip through, of course. I REALLY WOULD CALL the cops or better, the News IF someone tried to pull that sort of crap around me.Yeah I know enough to BE cautious.... I once threatened to call the cops because my polling place was not providing privacy. The booths did not have any coverings and everyone could clearly see what was being cast. TRUST ME,, they fixed it while I was waiting ! lots of people on Food stamps in my area as there are very few jobs in ANY sector." beholding" isnt required though reams of paperwork are.

deke the thing about that law suit the DOJ has filed against AZ is the fact that it doesn't mention profiling. Wasn't that the whole point? Obama said he didn't want some dad going to get an ice cream with thier kids being pulled over and harassed? I think the feds are going to lose this one. 60% of the American people agree with AZ. It's all about votes in November. Dems are going to lose and they don't want that to happen or happen as badly as predicted.

sizzlin i think a whole lot is going to be disinfected when daylight hits it. This kind of behavior is not going to keep me from doing things either. God willing I'll be going to DC on August 28 to the Restoring Honor rally. The new black panthers said they'd be there as well. I hope and praying nothing bad will happen. People need to remember why they are there.

No one has forgotten about how horribly black people were treated. But you can blame a whole race for the actions of some...and those on the other side need to realize that too.

Hi Dekan, The black panthers aren't doing this because they suddenly want to intimidate white people, or to make a stand. They've been in the news for decades. So first thing I did was ask myself why would they want to generate so much attention in the media, and what's to gain by doing it? Their reputation speaks for itself. So it wouldn't be to establish themselves. They aren't going to use a public platform to announce their intentions (like killing crackers, or threatening to kill when people are voting etc) they would just do it and let that be their calling card. So what would drive them to openly threaten, and recruit others to kill people? M-O-N-E-Y A lot of it too. If one thing's for certain, it's that there is always more than meets the eye. Which political group, organization, special interest group, or similiar has something to gain by this? That list is long, and varied. The black panthers are a lot like the KKK. People react to them because of what they stand for. They exercise their right to come together and share their opinions, but fail to add that they're willing to kill in order to achieve it. So who better than the panthers to "hire" if you want to make waves? Money motivates like nothing else. Why not hire someone to do your dirty work and you can remain behind the scenes watching it unfold? It delivers your message, gives it a national spotlight on every news channel, and you dont face and scrutiny. Or I should say, "you dont face any scrutiny YET". These thug for hire schemes always fall apart exposing who's behind it. I bet the same happens here. The black panthers are simply stepping up to deliver a message that they were paid to deliver. If anything happens, and they make good on their threats, heads should roll from the panthers to the actual group or person who funded them to begin with. There's a big election coming in November and there is a lot at stake for some, and lots of reasons that something like this would suddenly being going on. As for feeling threatened or scared..... sorry but it's going to take more than that to keep me from voting, and going to town hall meetings. Regardless of how real the threat is, I'd rather die knowing I lived according to my choices rather than by intimidation.

I saw all this . And the the guy in the video saying kill white people . I can't believe the man was allowed to run his mouth like that in public and get away with it . If a white man had said these things about Blacks he would have the key thrown away on him . I'm sure there are whites that feel the same way . But sure could never say it in public . Well I don't know what to tell you about you living close to there . I'm in Texas . I guess you would have to put pressure on your Congress and State Government . And have them shut down . I do agree with the response that giving these people media time only furthers their cause . These types should be ignored.

Yeah I guess they rushed Hitler and David Duke right off to jail after their public comments about Blacks and other groups...Amazing the amount of historical amnesia these days...

You're correct. There are so many nut jobs out there now I don't know which end is up. The is the latest and it really upsets me. You cannot pick and choose who to prosecute based on skin color. If you brake a law you need to be held accountable. Voter intimidation is a federal law. I'd like to me get away with doing that. They'd haul my ass off in a heartbeat. You punish people when they break the law. DOJ is going to investigate what the San Fransico verdit was because they didn't like the jury's dished out. No one was killed in Philly...not yet but there is a lot of summer left and if that hatred against white people continue by the new black panthers people will be. Wrong is wrong Sass I know you agree with that. You have a great weekend too! Thank God it won't be 103 again!

Yes I agree with you Dekan! Those who violate the law should be held accountable. Unfortunately, our legal system is flawed and you see a lot of injustice when in theory the law system is supposed to protect people. I think no matter who you are, if you do something that blatantly and more importantly, illegally harms others, you need to pay in some way.

Quoting Dekan09

You'll get your reparations SassnClass that's a given with this president...just be patient.

Dekan, you know very well that I was not referring to reparations (nice dig)....

Last time I checked, hate speech and radical thinking unfortnately comes in every color and creed. At the very least I had hoped we held common ground on any person who wants to kill or harm someone beacuse of their ingnorance or intolerance of other cultures...If not, that's unfortunate.. I will hope for protected human rights for all against crazies like Samir and the other groups I previously mentioned.

Take care and have a lovely weekend.

Sass
