This is a response to Shaz's blog, "STOP giving me your number."  In that blog I posted a comment that if I could find this 40 year old poem of mine, I would post it....and here it is....I hope everyone ENJOYS the pathos....and irony.  Neither of which are to be taken very seriously.

"Now that the darkness has passed,"
As Gilbert & Sullivan said,
I have cheerily found out at last
I've utterly nothing to dread.

For all the things I might do wrong
I did by yesterday,
And all the things I might do right
I can't do anyway.

And all the places I've wanted to be
I've found have never been.
And at all the places I've ever reached
They wouldn't let me in.

So from today and ever onward
I'll just sit on my barstool here,
Doing and saying nothing
And quietly drinking my beer.

This way I can't put my foot in my mouth,
Or worse, rip a hole in my pants.
Who cares if the boredom is endless?

........Won't someone please ask me to dance....??????

P.A. XXXXX  circa 1967/71

other than making me feel like vomitting,,,I had a great day. I could NOT believe the guy ! I plugged my ears and shut my eyes and told him to leave. The dune grasses hide his " package" from me so I didnt see it but I saw his arm moving up and down......i was shocked.

Well, at least you're out of THERE!!!!!!  Hope you don't have PTSD from this incident.  I'd be having nightmares for a good 6 or 7 or 8 weeks at least.

Darcy, dear.  Is working in this store with all the legal marijuana plants the scandal you promised us in your May30th post?

Shucks.  I thought it was going to be really juicy.  LOL

All kidding aside, while MJ ain't my thing, and despite my otherwise politically conservative stance, I've been leaning toward the idea that many currently illegal drugs ought to be made legal nationwide.  Just as repealing the Volstead Act put a big dent in crime by forcing the mob out of the illegal liquor business, legalizing MJ, etc., would, I think, put illegal drug dealers out of business, thereby reducing one heck of a lot of crime.  The gov't. would be able to tax drugs, set standards for it's production--all those things the gov't just loves to do to make sure they're taking care of us.

I'm not fully committed to this idea yet.  I haven't read enough data/info from experts, or so-called experts, about projections for an increase in drug use...would it spike for a while, then settle down...that kind of thing.

Anyway, Darcy, I hope you're enjoying your new job.  The store probably has the most easy-to-deal-with, mellow customers in the universe.  No irritated customers pushing and shoving, acting rude as hell, etc.

Oh, and by the way, if you can, please let me know that name of it.  Just for the heck of it, I'd like to Google it and check it out.  Back here in the east, in my neighborhood, at least, I just might be the first to know about it.  Since I'm usually the "last to know" about just about everything, it would be fun to be the disseminator of the news.

Happy  Summer Soltice to you, Darcy.  Longest Day of the year on the 21st.  Enjoy.

Pat

we do not sell any plants or any form of MJ. We are strictly a Hydroponic/ garden supply store. Its still retail and we do get some mean people..not me, cause I am great at customer service ( though I HATE retail....i didnt apply for the sales team...) The store has been featured on CNN, and a bunch of other shows and News casts. I will email you the web address. ....................... I spent the afternoon on the beach today. Met a very interesting man from Croatia. Let me tell you,,if he is any indication of the kind of men they raise there, I am NEVER going there. The guy came into the dunes where i was and after talking normally to me for awhile... decided he was SOOO turned on by me and my " fine JLo butt" ( as he put it ) that he proceeded to do his own little sex show.....the guy pulled it out and ..well...I could NOT believe what this nut job was doing !!!!! Talk about gross.YES AMD I AM telling the truth ! On a public beach, in broad daylight..about 5 feet from ME. I told him he couldnt do that here and he said ( and I quote) " it's ok , I am almost done " THEN I mentioned that the Police DO come down to the beach often and he needed to leave. Lots of weird people out on a great day like today.

Now I'm intrigued...

I'm working today, but it's same old, same old.  I could do with a good scandal about now.  Just as long as it doesn't involve any of US!!!  [LOL]

Pat

we are about to legalize the Mary Jane in California. I now work for one of the countries largest hydroponic stores. Think the Costco of MJ growing supplies. Its awesome.OF course,,you can grow ANY type of plant you want to with our methods and supplies. I never thought I would see the day when you could walk into a legitimate business and talk about, learn about, or understand HOW to grow. We have live plants on display...all in full compliance of State law. We had a festival at the store on Memorial Day. Many very happy, content and mellow people , all happily enjoying being medicated. But Man ,,,watch out for those edibles,,,,,they are WAY stronger than the doobie/blunt/spliff/method of ingestion.

Hello, Everyone.  I had a feeling you folks would all be here when I checked in this morning...thanks for your kind comments.

Sophia, actually, I was in my early twenties when I drank beer.  But only because there was a local wateringhole where a bunch of us used to hang out and beer by the pitcher was very, very cheap.  Had I been in my 40's back then, I'd be at least 80 by now [LOL]  Good heavens, I'm old enough as it is!!!!!

Let's go dancing!!!!

Pat
