For everyone out there who thinks this Feb. 14th holiday is really, really, really important--and your life is almost over if you don't have a sweetheart to take you out to dinner on the 14th; send yourself a super duperly expensive bunch of 12 red roses and .....GET OVER IT!!!!!

Do something swell for yourself!!!!   Enjoy YOURSELF!!!!!   Have a fun time with yourself.  Pet your dog--or cat.  Take home the most expensive thing on the menu from your favorite Chinese restaurant.  Watch a great movie.  Try "Love Actually."  That one is always good for getting a good cry out of you while not making you feel like it's about yourself and your own condition that you're crying about...  Yup, go Celebrate yourself.

Remember....this is a made up holiday.  It belongs to Hallmark!!!!  That should get you out of worrying about yourself and your own lovelife....His sucked for sure...

Just trying to provide a service here....Just trying to be helpful.  Even though this message has wound up on a negative note....and [because] I might be mostly talking to myself.....

And yet another delver into the old blogs. I'm not sure which post you're referring to, Martinez; people being secretive, but it looks like you've enjoyed this blog, and that makes me happy.

Hiya, Hoping. I see you've browsing the "archives." I'd completely forgotten about this blog. And all in green, before one brave blogger confessed that green was very hard to read and would I mind switching in the future to the standard black, which I did. Anyway, glad you got a laugh out of it. Come Valentine's Day 2012 I'll have to remember my own advice! LOL

Quoting CDinCO

A friend of mine just posted this on my FB wall...  HAD to share!!!!  I'm sure Moldy will have a reply!!!!  lololol  It may be old, but it sure is funny!

No woman will ever be truly satisfied on Valentine's day because no man has a chocolate P#NI$ wrapped in money that ejaculates diamonds.

Courtney, you must have snuck into my office when I wasn't looking.  I've had this little ditty [minus "on Valentine's day"] taped on the wall above my desk for about 6 months!!!  Gives me a good chuckle every day.

Pat

Lol! I feel the same way, and never celebrated it, neither did my kids. I taught them the pagan implications and how the day has extremely pagan roots, and we never thought much about it. People really make a big deal of it and some of my friends are actually sad, because they don't have a lover on today. I couldn't relate. I'm extremely in love with ME! LOL!  Thanks for the post!

Hi, Everyone.  I don't think much about Valentine's Day either.  But so many people make a such big deal about it, I thought I'd say something....

Theo, I'm with you on the long lines at restaurants.  As for the roses....  Well, roses don't last very long, and they're definitely not my favorite flower, and at Valentine's Day they're usually so overpriced [What is it now for a dozen red ones, on average in a large USA suburb or big city?  $100 +?  I don't know], I'd much rather the money went to something more practical.  But that's just me.

Anyway, I hope everyone had a fine day no matter what you did or didn't do.

I don't really think of Valentine's Day. It's just there and if someone wants to take me out then OK but I am not dying to find someone else for me. But I won't go out with just anyone for fun, if I seriously want to be with him then I will go out.

Hey Pat......I'm one of those who never thinks about it. I hate the wait at restaurants, the roses (which I buy often) doubling in price and now it's extended to buying presents for grandchildren. I never did that as a kid and I never raised my boys with the thoughts of getting a present on Valentines Day. They didn't mind except they really wanted an Easter present because it seemed they were the only ones left out of that loop. They did, however get the traditional Easter Basket.......So I buy my youngest a cute little pottery rabbit with a candle on it's back and said "Happy Easter"..real proud of myself..I thought I was being funny, I don't recall him laughing about it....but I still have it and his wife laughs every time she looks at it. I think he should move it to his house, don't you? lol.....well I can see the meds I'm on are working. I've totally wandered from your post and what I wanted to say. Think I should stop now before you start scratching your head thinking, huh?
