She was the one, I loved first
gave me drink, when I thirst
taught eternal trust, in love
encouraged, never a shove

This woman so near and dear
opened eyes to have no fear
walked this path with a smile
traveled with me many a mile

Followed my dad with deep devotion
applauded and cheered each promotion
she and I, traveled in many a car
to drive from near, to there and far

Over the seas in ships and planes
to witness cultures of many veins
many a trip we chanced and took
saw much, exceeding, many a book

Today we sit, my father and I
and are missing, our apple's eye
she's gone now, and all too soon
awaiting on t'other side of the moon

keep em all laughing Mom
miss and love yah

Your poem for you mother is so beautiful !

I am really sorry for you but your mother is still and will be always with you. You just could not see her body anymore, but she's still there.

Just one of many fond memories

My folks traveled to all parts of the world and on one trip they went to Bethehem to visit the place where Christ was reportedly born

She had told me that she had been talking to a young child about baby Jesus. She told the child that she had been there where Christ was born.....the child looked at her with the inquisitive look of amazment and said.....gee mame, you dont look "THAT" old!!!!!!.

I thank you all for your expressions of condolences and friendship.

It brings home the point that we should live and love with every minute and moment. We dont get out of this trip alive, and the only thing we take with us are the feelings we leave behind. From stardust we come and from stardust we will return.

Don,

Please accept my deepest sympathies.  She must have been a truly wonderful woman and I know you are grieving the loss.  Time will heal all wounds and soon only fond and wonderful memories will exist.

Take care and know you are in my thoughts and prayers.

Britt

I am so sorry to hear of your loss, you are very fortunate to have had such a wonderful woman in your life for so long.  A lovely tribute.

What is love? Love is feeling comfortable and safe with someone but still getting weak knees when they walk into a room and smile at you. :)
