Not sure if you've heard of her, but she's a 47 year old woman from Scotland who performed on Britain's Got Talent.¿ She's sort of frumpy looking and the audience and the judges had judged the book by the cover, but when she began singing, her voice was nothing but astounding!¿

¿

¿

¿

She sings "I Dreamed a Dream" from Les Mis that was phenomenal, brings tears to your eyes, tears of pure joy listening to her beautiful voice.

¿

¿

¿

Her you tube video has already received more than 25 million views and climbing!¿ The looks on the faces of judges Simon and Piers were priceless.¿ This woman's life has changed overnight and what a gift she has!

¿

¿

¿

She's also got another video up "Cry Me a River" that is a sultry, sexy sound.¿

¿

¿

¿

Such an inspirational way to start the day!¿ Sure shows you the power of the internet!

Hi cewagoner!

¿

Welcome to the blogs!¿ It is a shame that most in today's society judge a person by their outward appearance, but it is how it is, especially in the realm of celebrity.¿ Susan's personality speaks volumes as does her amazing voice, she will fare well.

¿

Hi sandradee!

¿

It sure didn't take long for her slight makeover, I think the eyebrows are a huge improvement, the hair and clothing are small changes that probably make her feel a whole lot more confident so I think overall it's a good thing and none of it will change the core essence of who she is.

¿

She's now up to just about 44 million views!¿¿ You can't buy press like that, let's hope she cuts an album soon and can take advantage of all those views with a link to purchase her new CD!¿ lol!

¿

I saw this virtual makeover and loved the last picture on the right.

Why is it that people can be so cynical as to not accepting people with the natural beauty from the inside, but instead wanting them to change the outside. Boy, people can be so cruel. Like a pecan or a walnut; the best part is what is inside, not the shell. So why can't people just accept talent and heart instead of looking and trying to change the shell. There are a lot of people out there that might not look like a star but that have just as much talent, if not more. So, why not accept the person for who they are or for the talent alone instead of trying to change their looks to satisfy the people. Is it Susans' looks that impressed everyone. No, it was her talent! And, as for her looks, I see a beautiful and warm loving person there.

I also watched the video on 12 year old Shaheen Jafargholi from Wales, who the press is dubbing "Susan Boyle's competition".¿ He too performed on Britain's Got Talent, started out his song and was stopped by Simon who then told Shaheen he had chosen the wrong song.¿ The audience, judges, Shaheen's mother backstage were all aghast.

¿

¿

¿

Simon very gently asked Shaheen if he had another selection to sing and Shaheen said yes, he could sing "Who's Loving You" which was a much richer, gospel based song.¿ The young boy didn't seem flustered, started in and it too was an astonishing moment.¿ The audience went nuts and at the end, Simon had done exactly the right thing for this young boy and said this is a prime example of how important it is to choose the right song.

¿

¿

¿

I don't watch much reality TV either, but when you see 2 totally unknown talents like Shaheen and Susan have the opportunity showcasing on a show like Britain's Got Talent, and that it allows them to be seen by millions, I think it's most definitely a great thing!

Thanks for all your comments.¿ I just watched the video again today and she's gone from 25 million + views to over 30 million + views today.¿ Just imagine having over 5 million views in just one day!

¿

What I just love is that she's gone from being more or less undiscovered to being the talk of the town, she is currently unemployed living alone with her cats and now this door has opened for her and she's living her dream!¿ It's so appropriate she chose to sing " I Dreamed a Dream" and now her dream is coming true.¿ There's something that just stirs me so when I see someone as genuine and humble as Susan achieve greatness.

¿

I loved her little jig at the end when she got a resounding yes from all 3 judges and shot her arm up in the air in a gesture of victory, all very endearing and makes her the winner she is.¿ It thrills me to see someone like Susan be recognized for the champion she is.

¿

When Susan had finished singing, Amanda the female judge said she was thrilled for Susan because in the beginning, everyone being so cynical, they were all against her and to have such an outstanding performance in front of an audience and judges feeling that way, is nothing short of total inspiration.

¿

For me personally, it's a very clear message to never stop striving for your dreams, as Amanda¿ said "this serves as the biggest wake-up call ever"!

Quoting Tinkerbelle:

Ready, someone sent me a likk to that on u tube. I nearly fell off my chair.

You wait till they give her a makeover !  New hair, a bit of makeup and a few less pounds a bit of styling we will see a superstar there

Bravo Susan !!!!

Hello Tinkerbelle: I had the same thoughts about her getting a makeover. Suffice it to say, and this surprises me to death, Pierce reported on their Larry King interview the other evening that her looks should remain somewhat similar, to paraphrase his comment. He added that her appearance is part of what makes her so endearing to the people who love her. _Honey

I wish she would have sung more from Cats...and I did hear the Cry Me a River...the hair stood up on my arms...such an effortless presentation...she was wonderful! I do hope that we will hear more from her. What an unknown talent! I think we will be hearing more from her.

I was listening to the news the other morning and heard these AMAZING "pipes" and had to stop and run to the TV... I couldn't help but ROFLMAO when I saw the look on Simon's face. I don't follow, nor do I watch, "reality" anything but WOW... I will if they can keep it more real and worthwild like THIS!!! Thanks for sharing!
