Lately, I've found myself so wrapped up with the everyday B.S. that I've lost focus on the real important things in life, that really matter!
With my cat getting killed by a wild animal yesterday, it made me realize that its the things that really matter in your life thats important, because you just don't know what tomorrow brings!
Maybe this was to wake me up, and rethink of what I should be focusing on such as family and friends, and to keep in touch with everyone more often, as we tend to take things for granted that tomorrow will be just like the day before.
I'm saddened by what happened to my cat, but what about the ones who lost loved ones to war, or sickness or accidents!
The ones who are now sick or injured, or need our help in some way!
I need to start showing what really matters and of whats really important in life, so sometimes it takes an incident such as my cat to realize what you've been neglecting as in showing the ones you love and care about how much you really do love them!

Thank you everyone for all your support with your kind comments and helping me to see things on a more positive note.

It has really helped me deal with all of this, as I'm now figuring about my other three cats, now on my back porch.

I've decided its probaly best at this time, to put two of my cats up for adoption, of where I adopted them a couple years ago at the animal hospital where I board my dog.

They are such wonderful cats, and I do know its best for them, as to find them good homes, with people to love them, and where they could be inside, because they are declawed.

I just don't want to have what happen to my other cat, happen to them, as they are now out on my screened in porch.

My cat, the one I'm choosing to keep is the one who ruined my couch, so I will be bringing her back in the house, and thought to keep her in my large dog cage at night, and let her out during the day, but to keep an eye on her, so I won't be having this problem with her again!

I'm just hoping I'm not making this decision too soon, as to affect me more emotionally along with the ordeal I have recently been coping with! It would be like losing two more cats!

But I would be doing this for them, and thats how I have to look at it, as its just probaly too much for me to keep them all at this time!

This will be emotional for me, as I know what I'm feeling inside now about all this, but the cat that I will keep, does have a bond with my dog, as she would always go hang out with him and sleep next to him.

So, this will be a big change for me, and to have a change such as this around the holidays can be over whelming!

So, I could, either just keep things how they are right now, and hope for the best, or bring them all inside and see what happens, as it would be much to keep after, especially if I have to work.
Or put the two up for adoption.

What ever I do, I sure hope its the right one!

Jan,

You say you might have saved him had you woke up earlier. But maybe it was he who was saving you. Had you woke up earlier, it may have been you that was attacked. After the animal attacked simba he left, but had he not attacked Simba, he may have still been there and have found you his prey.

So maybe Simba gave himself for you.

That probably isn't comforting, but it could be true. Pets have saved many human lives by taking on predetors for us.

Well said Jan.

Sorry your insightful reminder was delivered in such a painful message.

"Work like you don't need the money, love like you've never been hurt, and dance like no one is watching..."

Bottom line, remember, life is NOT a dress rehearsal.

I wish you comfort in recovering from your loss.

Thank you bloggers for all your comments and support.
As I'm waking up and having my morning coffee, and reading your comments, it put some tears in my eyes!
As this had happened early Saturday morning, when I woke up at 6:30 instead of 5:00 as I was planning.
I walked my dog, then just as I was approaching my house, I saw an animal on the side of my house.
Thought at first that it was a deer, being my cat was a big cat, I quickly realized it was Simba!
I ran over to him, to then realized he was half dead, and noticed his injuries!
He was attacked only moments ago, and thats what has me upset, that he could of been saved, if I knew to check on him moments earlier.
He was still warm, and dying, nothing I could do, his injuries were too severe.
But I think he was too far gone when I reached him, not sure if he heard me call his name as I hugged him tightly!
He was a cool cat, loved it outside, and had his cat buddies, the other neighbors cats.
I didn't think for a moment that this would ever happen to him!
As we do have some wild animals around here!
I have to tell my neighbors to be cautious of their cats, so this doesn't happen again!
I did call my Mom Sunday morning to see how she's doing, and one of my sisters as well.
It was good to hear they're doing well, as will try to keep in touch with everyone more often!
"I appreciate your comments"

Jan,

I am sorry to hear about your kitty. Losing a pet is always tough cause we bring them in like family.

I agree so much with what you say. I have lost both my brothers and a cousin. I am so happy to have let them know how much I loved them before they left. My oldest brother and I were best friends, and I would not give up one great moment between us for anything.

I have a co-worker who has his mom's voice messages saved on his cell phone. He said it is because you never know when it might be the last time you hear their voice.

My daughter and I say I love you dozens of times a day. We hug and kiss and play each day. She is my light and I want her to know that every minute of her life.

I too recently decided it was about time I started keeping in touch more. Now I write and call my friends more often and we feel close for it.

Tay

I'm really sorry about your cat funlovingjan, I remember when mine got stolen it was such a cute mix with a siamese look. My ex had given it to me so I don't know if that is why it was so devastating for me to loose it. But I hope your kitty makes it to kitty heaven and I hope you get well enough to get yourself a baby kitty and start all over again. Best wishes and God Bless you.
