Just finished listening to President Elect Barack Obama on Meet The Press. He emphesized his goal of a significant pullout in Iraq with a security force left behind of from 35 to 50,000 personnel. He acknowledged the fact that no country or group of people should be dominated by a foreign entity, however, he stated without reservation that regionally the radical minority had to be dealt with. This would signal a shift more twords Afganistan and Pakistan. Diplomatic solutions were paramount goals to a peaceful resolution to an endless chain of violence that clearly has the intent of destabilizing rational peace in the region. I blogged some time ago that Iraq should never have been the primary target. I see a military shift to Afganistan/Pakistan to further the resolve of the peaceful majority of the world to find a diplomatic solution, yet insure the potiential catastophic actions of fanatics will be minutely monitered, forcefully challenged, and pre-emptively acted upon so as to avoid another MUMBAI worldwide.

They should warn us not to go there. I already knew that as I went years ago when it was still called Bombay. One visit in a lifetime is quite sufficient....
