They have arrived. I love the National Parks. To me they are the most beautiful of the beautiful. I visit them whenever I can. I have already been to a slew of them all over the country including hiking the Grand Canyon twice; staying over night at the Phantom Ranch on the bottom. I was just up there a couple of weeks ago. As I pulled up to the entrance the park ranger told me it was $25 and I gave it to her. As I started to pull away, something made me ask if being over 62 did anything for me??? She checked my license; then gave back $15 and a card which she says will get me into any National Park in the country free for the rest of my life. Anyone over 62 planning on doing any road trips should take advantage. Aren't the Golden Years going to be great???....

Hi Everyone! Hey Bill, Yes, I enjoyed Alaska as well. I have been there four times over the past quarter century. People say I am crazy to like Alaska because it is too cold, too white, no beauty, and nothing to do. They have to be shallow minded, I found it enjoyable and fun to no end every time there. I have visited Juneau, Anchorage, Aleutian Islands, and Fairbanks so far. They are all fun places as far as I am concerned. Maybe people should open their eyes and minds a little more lol. So you want to do a "Community" well lol. What do we do for a septic system- a big community one emptying into the grand canyon JK! lol. See photo below for the design of community out house Ha-HA! Talk to you soon.

Howdy BL. Looks like we really are neighbors. My acreage is part of Woodridge Ranch. It's just into Apache County of the Concho Hway which runs east from Snowflake, AZ. Maybe we can do a well share together. lol. Good eye on El Tovar. You got that right. That was a fun trip. We did Sedona and the Canyon. It's an easy long weekend trip from Tucson. When I was traveling to AK. I did a blog called NORTH TO ALASKA which chronicled the adventure. A lot of people contributed and I never got lonely up there. You might try the same. Tell us about the cool places you go and the neat people you meet. Snap some pics and voila. You have a diary. If you spend a night in Seligman, AZ. you will have your first post. lol. I call it the "Village of the Damned.".....lol.... A little town which still prides itself on being located along Route 66. They still haven't figured out that all the vehicles they are hoping will stop there are now buzzing along I-40 and don't even slow down when they go by Seligman.

Hi Everyone! Hey Bill, Like you, I refuse to get old. I will age gracefully lol. And yes we do have property next door to each other near Flagstaff. Yup it is near Holbrook off the I-40. OMG- Small world lol. As for the pic of El Tovar, Is that Sharon (Sharp1) in foreground? And Darcy Sweetie, Yes you can be of assistance in helping me with RE too. We can discuss that soon. Want to join me in Texas and help remodel my ranch there?

billz - it looks as though you are thoroughly enjoying your Golden Years and making the most out of it. Love all the great pics you post. My Mom always says "whoever coined the term Golden Years should be shot!" lol!

What is love? Love is feeling comfortable and safe with someone but still getting weak knees when they walk into a room and smile at you. :)

My property is about 100 miles east of Flagstaff, just south of Holbrook in the White Mountains. It's open range which means any ones animals can graze there until you fence them out or plan a big Bar B Cue,,,lol...Izabel is my secret weapon when we visit. She don't like no "stinken" cows. lol. What movie was that line from???? OK where is your spread?? Careful not to buy any land on the Navajo reservation. Doubt if they would consider you a good neighbor. The Hopi's are even worse.

Hi Everyone! Hey Bill, I did not know you had property near Flagstaff, I shoot you an e-mail to your personal e-mail address so we can discuss it. Sorry to hear about the ER trip with sis's dog being bitten by yours, that can always be stressful to say the least, and a bit costly as well. As for me collecting property, when I took the Road Trip earlier this year, I kept running into these bargain basement fire sale prices or foreclosures I just could not pass up lol. You know how a woman is when it comes to shopping and discounts, I am that way with the stock market and other things like real estate lolol. Hey Bill got any discount coupons LMAO. Talk with you soon ol friend. Hi Shazbot, I was not aware you were into real estate. I am not, well only for investment purposes lol. We should talk. I have these R.E.'s that I seem to have collected, now not sure what to do with them. Hold them? Give them to my two boyzs? Sell them? Any ideas lol? Blondie :)

Yes, Bill. Our golden years will be the best! Love the photos of the views. Thank you for sharing! As you might know, I live on property that will be a preserve (a national park of sorts) and feel very, very lucky to be here. There is nothing like being in nature...(well, for some of us.) The view from my tent.

LOL. Lenny. If your AZ. land is near where I think it is we may be neighbors. I have a 40 acre ranchette up there a little NE of Snowflake which I got at a Trustee sale. Buying property in every state???? That's a trip.(I had a little different method of collecting momentos from every state when I was doing a lot of car trips. LOLOL) You will probably make money. My sister is cool. Just saw her over Labor Day weekend. Izabel bit her dog. A trip to the emergency room, a few stiches and $900 later we were out of there. Could have been worse. Izabel could have bitten someone elses dog. No more Doggie Parks for Izabel. PURA VIDA

Hi Everyone! Hey Bill, How is everything? I enjoyed your story about the over 62 age at the National Parks (The Golden Years). I just hit 50 so I have a few years until I am eligible lol. Recently I joined the AARP since it is for the 50 and older crowd. Now that I have semi retired, I have changed my life style too. Recently I went on a road trip and purchased properties in 7 states. I purchased a ranch not that far from you near Flagstaff, AZ. with a view of the painted mountains- Beautiful! We will have to get together sometime as neighbors lol. How is your sister doing, and is she still living in Long Beach, CA.? Talk to you soon. Blondie :)

Hi Shaz. Pull up El Tovar. Its right on the rim, built in the early 1900's. Teddy Roosevelt and several other presidents stayed there. It is rustic elegance at its best. I was there when the 1st Bush signed the Clean Air Act right out in front. As a guest we were allowed in but had to go through the kitchen like cock raoaches...lol

Hi BillZ: You will also get FREE admission to all beaches that are National Parks. Let me know if that includes beach camping. I think the age is younger than 62 and I'll check on that. My dad gets the AARP magazine which is full of valuable information and deals. _honey

Quoting avaredrose: yes... and so was being a child. i'm looking forward to it. it seems all your innocence years came back when you age. but i have to deal with the mid life crisis first... don't really know what that means at this point.

Interesting point of view. My 2nd Innocence cycle has not yet begun. Trust me on that......
