the place where you live is a massive conflagration, all the household members have got to safety. You have a few moments to save just one of your possessions. What would you risk all for and be willing to risk the flames to save?

For me I have a box known as my Memory box and I would save that if I could not get that there is just one picture in it I would save of my two children in seperate beds fast asleep but holding hands across the gap.

"all the household members have got to safety"

I found it interesting that most who responded did not count their pets as household members. That was my first instinct when I read this phrase...

Therefore, my laptop - it already has all my pictures and music backed up, along with a bunch of important files.

The greatest treasure is a life saved...

Photo's.
I Know I should scan then and put them on a CD, but that would take days and days. Guess I am lazy.

Foot and Ula. Everything else is replaceable, given time. Even my laptop.

Also: renter's insurance. :)

But even without that, the girls would be my priority.

To be honest, i would just be thankful that my baby was safe and sound.
The material things could be replaced, and as for important photos of family members......the memories that i have of them in my mind will last alot longer than any photo could.

Great post by the way!

My first reaction was to say the Jaimster and Izabel in that order but they are not possessions. They are their own entities who love me as I love them which is why we spend so much quality time together.
Posessions. I have so many that it would hard to choose my favorite. They must have all been important at one time or I would not have acquired them. I am just not sure I have one favorite. It's all just STUFF when you come right down to it.....

My two photo albums of my family in the UK, so very precious to me.
In fact we are installing a fireproof safe in the concrete basement floor so that precious items can be kept safe, Ive copied all my treasured pics

My pets....(first and foremost), and I have all my important documents in order and copies elsewhere. I supposed I could do the same on the pictures now that we have the technology to save them online, on cd's and the old fashion way... hard copy!
