What one characteristic would you say marks out the femininity of a woman and the manliness of a man. I do not mean physically but emotionally

Thanks for your comments and Long hair 'marks' refers to defines the characteristic.

For those lucky enough one that has been said to me as a good sign of manliness is being a good father I think being a good mothercould also define a feminine character I suppose in both I think the word nurturing comes to mind

this is an excellent thought provoking question. And I have no idea of a good answer.

Recently a close male friend evidenced a small degree of jealousy when I was teasing him about getting some new red high heels.
It was oddly stimulating.

I love a man who is confident without being arrogrant and who is humble without being self-effacing.

For myself , I feel especially feminine when I am dressed in lovely clothes , freshly bathed and coiffed ,a hint of an expensive exotic fragrance.
I get a lot of attention from men when I make the slightest effort to look like a girl.

I agree with tatiana, too.
and ones culture definitely comes into play.
