A hard decision made. However, after seeing some of the profiles of the wonderful women here at MM I have to agree with them. Many have disabled their winks. It makes sense to them for if a man can not find the words to from his heart to catch your eye. Then why wink? So here I am disabling my own wink whether genius or folly maybe you can tell me. I think my blogs and my profile represent me well. Many of you have written wonderful replies, or we email back and forth. The thing is I am looking for my soul's great love. I have dreamed about her since I was a boy. Her courage and patience in finding me simply outshines my own perseverance. So I would hope that she would take the time to write to me either in replies to my blogs or email me if she is to be found here. For surely I have done the same. Though I do not know your name still I seek to find you. Never asking anything of you that I would not do myself. So tell me is this to bold? Or is it the course needed to aid my quest? ~One Knight in the Light~ LP

hey Ron, I do agree with you that a first look is always nice because chemistry is very important. Yet winks that are responded to but then ignored by the winker seem kind of rude. That is more of the issue I have with the whole wink system. As some sites use winks as a scam to make customers think another is interested in you. When in fact they are no longer a member themselves or they have know idea what you are talking about. Thanks for the input. LP

Hello Candyeye, I can understand from a woman's point of view a wink is something a woman would feel safer doing than giving her hole life story on an email. However, my view is that you don't have to give your life's story in one email. Just a few simple thoughts from the heart. Everything else should be a slow progression just for safety reasons alone. Peace to you, LP

Lady Taycott, I agree with you. I am smiling because I am following up with as many as I can who responded to this blog. For me it is just a matter of taking that extra step of giving conscious thought to the person I am interested in. Again, I can understand the winks from the non-members, but if I am willing to be here looking..... ;) LP

Vivachau, I am not sure you understood when I spoke of my dream. The dream is not based on what she looks likes. It is based on the soul within the woman I search for. I have seen her in many shapes, sizes, colors, and creeds. Yes, the great love everyone searches for will always be a surprise. (more so if your heart is truly open for it). I have dreamed this woman as if I have lived many life times. I have seen her as a Celtic, Moroccan, Chinese, Greek, and American. All of which look very different than each other. Yet that is a very different story for a different time. ;) Love from within the heart of the soul out, LP

Lady Tinkerbelle, I aggree with you 100%, but even if a person winks it would be nice to get a response from the winker if you take the time to write a response. Keep the candle bright, LP

Rhonda, I can understand the issues of non-member limitations. But I have been on two sites that used winks as gimmicks. Creative inspirations, Jerry

Shadowconn, That is another concern I have about winks. The whole gimick thing to get a memeber to stick around. Mystery winks that get no response when responded to. :) Always smiling, LP

Vicki, Those were my thoughts. I can understand a woman wanting the man to make the first move. I also, like the winks as a teaser to show I am thinking of you. Yet when a person sends a wink, unless they are non-members it would be nice to receive some kind of response after sending your own response to their wink. LOL! Thanks Lady Vicki, Jerry

I think that winks make alot of sense. Most people's first impressions are looks which make the wink process a valuable tool. You get to look at their photos and decide from there whether you want to pursue it. For most people a relationhip begins with the first look. You see that person and say I want to talk to that person. I thnk disabling it you are doing yourself a disservice.

I also prefer emails if a person is truly interested. I even put that on my profile. I can understand non members not being able to, but when a paying member does this it tells me a lot!I send winks as A way of being playful, aka the kiss one, or my especially designed ones;)I am not a wall flower so if I see A man I am really interested in I will make the first move but I prefer the man to do this. The problem with me sending emails is I am new to all this and I never know what to say! I have blown it many times lol. I once sent A wink to A man I was really interested in he looked and said nothing:( I apologized and said it was the first wink I had ever sent, alas he was not very forgiving:)I usually send winks after I establish a connection just because I love being playful:)I also try to send A wink if a man sends a sweet wink like I think your Beautiful, my favorite word to hear from A man:)I can not always respond to emails and winks, as my laptop is constantly acting up and I get well.. a lot of responses. For those who ever wondered how this is possible, I am on multiple dating sites. You can find the most interesting people in many places. The way I see it I am not A millionaire (yet) But if I can afford the dues you should be able to as well.I confess sometimes I take a break on dating sites and do not renew. This is usually because I need to get off the roller coaster in the dating site sky lol And or I like you once said " life is calling":)

Quoting: Originally posted by Taycott Honey, ths is a common trick by many dating sites to get you to buy the membership. The people are real, but they are not sending you winks, the site is. I am on a site and have never sent a wink to anyone yet I get loads of messaes saying they are responding to the winks I sent. It is a gimmcik.

That's becuase your profile IS sending winks. I just ran through this issue with a particular site. Not to mention membership was extremely expensive. I kept calling to cancel the trial period and they kept offering me more "free" time. After the 3rd week of an unpaid paid membership, I cancelled it for good. The quality was terrible and the limits were rediculous even for the trial. They encrypted email addresses so that every email address was theirs. You could never get off the site. By the time I realized this... It was too late to contact the one person I might have had an interest in. Obviously, they were on a free trial as well and had cancelled before I caught the site's quirks. And trust me, I explained my extreme irritation while I was cancelling the membership. Needless to say, the quirks completely negated the whole reason for the site. Now I won't get to go play on a horse farm. That would have been fun.

Coming from a non member. . . I wink. That is all I can do. But I am not going to waste my money if I dont get a wink in return. Wasted too much money already on sites that were just not for me. I dont want to jump too fast. So, if I wink, and get a wink back, I would be more likely to join. There are others out there like me, I am sure. So, you might want to wink. You might miss out on a good woman. Rhonda

its interesting this phenomenon of the wink and i completely agree with you. If someone, is interested in me i would like them to write. It shows honour and intent. It doesnt have to be a novel but a few well chosen word speak volumes dont you think
