Here's to the crazy ones. The misfits. The rebels. The trouble makers. The round pegs in the square holes. The ones who see things differently. They are not fond of rules and they have no respect for the status quo. You can quote them. Disagree with them. Glorifying or vilify them. About the only thing you can't do is ignore them, because they change things. They push the human race forward. And while some may see them as the crazy ones, we see genius. Because the people who are crazy enough to think that can change the world are the ones who do. Not my words but very wise words penned for an "apple" commercial and sent to me by a friend. Sometimes it's hard being different. Thinking differently then everyone else it seems. Not viewing the world with the same rose coloured glasses like your neighbour. Being pushed at, proded and told to conform to the ways of others. But who is to say that conforming is right for each of us. Being true to ourselves is what should be right. Daring to be different should be right. Thinking out side of the box and aiming for those stars. That should be right. Dare to dream. Dare to try. Dare to fail. Dare to succeed. (G.Kingsley Ward) Around here, however, we don?t look backwards for very long. We keep moving forward, opening up new doors and doing new things - because we're curious. And curiosity keeps leading us down new paths. (Walt Disney) We learn from our pasts. We dream of our futures. But the present is where we live. Dare to try and dare to make a difference. Even in some small way. Dare. Happy New Year Everyone. Leigh

Shazbot.. I'm not overly one for exchanging insults either. Sometimes it's best to put differences aside and simply go on. And so I shall. So here is to a new year.. and to being different. Agreed?

no thank you ,its not worth the effort. My source was the MM archive.Limited as you say it is. I see no point in engaging in insults. Snarky remarks are not productive. I am an artist, not a computer scientists, although I do know a few of them. Programming does not interest me in the least. I could shake a canister of chicken bones, if you like, to predict the Future.

Now there is a simple answer to that one. I pulled most of my blogs save a few this past spring. I'd be more then happy to email them to you and I did happen to keep a copy of each in a file on my computer. Not all contain quotes, but when I felt another's words personified what I wished to convey in my blogs I have included them. I started on the blogs over 2 years ago and feel free to ask any of those who were here long before you to confirm that. Actually You could even contact staff here at MM and ask them personally. John and Amber have both been in contact with me over the past few years. Perhaps you should have broadened your venues when you did your research. It has been my personal experience that when you think you've completed your research some new point is made and it starts afresh. I only took a break and pulled my blog for a personal reason and nothing more. Shazbot, this blog isn't about THAT sort of "crazy". At least not in my opinion. I wrote the blog about such people as Albert Einstein, Martin Luther King Jr., Audrey Hepburn, and the list goes on and on and on. These people and many others on here aren't looking to create chaos and disorder. They are thinking out side of the box and using imagination to create or solve "problems". For example a device that allows people to turn on and off a light by clapping. Only drop a book and the lights go off too *LOL* As for the other sort of crazies, I'm sorry I'll leave the online drama to those who have the time and energy to allow them to get upset about it. I am not a troll and I know very well that trolls exist on here. This blog has nothing to do with trolls. And anyone with an IQ over 100 might very well have been able to point that out to you. By the way I do happen to value my reputation and I value how people view me. As I am very sure You do as well. Hey Shazbot, here's an idea, perhaps you could invent a way that would cure us of this troll problem. Perhaps you could create a program that sniffs out which people are real and those who have ill intentions and could be called trolls. I'd even volunteer to be the first tested too.

MA..I have an annyoing penchant for research. When you said you often use quotes in the body of your blogs. I couldnt remember any. I went and looked up all the blogs you authored that are still on MM and read them. There was only one that contained a quote. Maybe you could find more, but I didnt.

oh no ,,i think that I will leave that open. Im not concerned as to if you are or are not a troll. Doesnt matter. Here's to the crazy ones IS the title of this blog isnt it ? We have people on this board who like to change identies like most of us change underwear. They enjoy in creating chaos. I would suspect that they well may be clinically insane. BUt HEy,,thats just MY opinion. So Leo,,why arent you answering any of my questions ? I have my theories why but Ide like to hear YOUR version.

Your post is a bit puzzling Shazbot. First of all are You assuming I'm a troll? I often speak in quotes and many of my blogs in the past have contained them somewhere. I am rather curious to know what you meant by Trolls on parade. So please do fill me in on this one. And then could you also explain to me how your post kept in context with the topic of the blog. This should be interesting to hear.

Honey... There are many reasons to disagree with others. Some have very different opinions and radical ideas that many aren't ready to hear. And sometimes we can disagree simply because we can. Disagreeing can raise important points and allow us to see other prespectives on the same subject. How we disagree is what should be taken into factor. "Nature gave us one tongue and two ears so we could hear twice as much as we speak." (Epictetus) Though sometimes even the smartest of minds can forget this simple rule and use emotions to determine their words. It's part of life and of learning.

Leoncivirgo.. Forward is always better then backwards isn't it? I love brainstorming sessions. I've actually joined a group online specifically for that. It's really interesting most times and then the networking that goes on from some of the get togethers is even more interesting. And to think this is all possible because someone believed he could find a way to help the deaf to hear. All that we have now was perhaps once envisioned in books and in the imagination of minds in the past and present. I can only wait to see where the furture leads us. Dreaming and imagining are the first steps. Taking that leap and doing it is still vastly more important. Lloyd Jones said, "The men who try to do something and fail are indefinately better then those who try to do nothing and succeed." I say to those who are "crazy", be inspired. Take chances. And if at first you don't succeed, try, try again.

Nice forward look,Leigh. We need more of this here. Some of my most thrilling conversations are with individuals that are enguaged in inovative ideas, and trying to bring them to working status. It sometimes turns to a brainstorming session, and new avenues are created. We dream of better ideas because we do not like the status quo.Take, for instance, understanding how a tin of food is manufactured, realizing that filings from the cut surface could be injested, preventing cuts from the sharp surface, and general ease of opening created the electric can opener that removes the top without the other damaging effects. This idea takes on more weight with the aging as far as arthritis,or lack of mechanical ability. Such a simple thing, but worth a mint, and quite inovative. It took technology over 70 years to move from phonographs to CD's. Rumor on the street is that CD's are obsolete to IPOD'S,MP3's,and total compact mobile information access(4 words, but a multi trillion dollar market). With a manual battery sorce, and a small dish pointed at a satallite, someone can access the internet in a remote desert location. No batteries required. Some like the simple life, and there is a time, place, and comfort zone there. To inovators,a problem is a solution to realize. Our dreams are our ticket out.
