I removed 2 comment I made that I thought was a bit too harsh, and may be off the mark. But it made me think. What if... ....there was a con man,, who scoped out blogs. Where affluent people hung out.... And fashioned his profile to attract an affluent woman that he found to be his target? Take for instance...a special woman pops onto these blogs... searching for a spiritual people, or even a potential love. BAM! within a week there is a spiritual guy....who lets it be known that somehow money IS a factor in his search. NOw how many of you would think that he cultivated his profile and blogs to attract her? I can't be the first one to pick this up. Tell me if you think I am wrong...or maybe just a little over sensitive from past blogging experiences. Most of you know what had happened. ~T~

Hey, T, I'm still pondering this. Just for kicks... What if... ...there was a silly man, who scoped out blogs where cool people hung out... ...and fashioned his profile to attract a cool woman that he found to be his audience? Take for instance...a bored but cool woman pops onto these blogs... searching for an entertaining people, or even a potential love. BAM! Within a week there is an entertaining guy....who lets it be known that somehow obtaining an audience IS a factor in his search. Now how many of you would think that he cultivated his profile and blogs to attract her? How many of you would even notice? How many of you would care? How many of you would you find it as amusing and charming and heartwarming as I would, if he had? I'd probably melt like the glaciers if someone wrote a profile just to attract me! (Hint, hint!!! But sorry guys, ca$hflow is not my best asset....) What does it say that the only words I changed in this scenario were *con, target, affluent, special, spiritual, and money?* ~L

Dear Cassie, Sweet as ever, and it's very nice of you to acknowledge that intelligent people like you can be wrong sometimes. I'd love o join your visionary blog when I have a little more time to research as you have. I am curious, however, about how many authors he's stalked or "visited at home and in their labs". Why not a list and contact information, why only claims that he has done so?

Blu, Well put, point taken, digested and you are right... no harm . no foul... but anyone who has access to a computer has knowledge at their finger tips. I am not saying fake per se... I am saying maybe an opportunist at best, feigning bloated interest in a topic he dabbles in. MAYBE... I guess we'll never know. ~RF~, ~Bam~&,~Smiley~, Thanks.... however not to judge or to cause havoc.....I stated clearly "What IF"....keeping' things OPEN ~N~!......I miss you.. lunch next week? If you can squeeze me in.. I need a KOP shopping experience soon. ~Romantic~, ~Gen~, ~MoM~, even ~MrK~..... thanks for posting... although, don't allow my suspicions to cloud your judgment.... WHAT IF!!!!!!!! ~T~

Dear Nicegirl, As was true in the last fake profile fiasco, it is best to let the facts dictate judgment. There, we had common misspellings between allegedly different profiles, assertions of meetings and telephone converstions between fake people, and major inconsistencies in postings. Certainly VL is well spoken, knows a number of resources for his interests and seems nice enough (I also adopted the "no harm, no foul" rule last time, only getting involved when personally attacked). As before, I'm withholding judgment, but am curious about the inability for someone familiar with TV and movies, who apparently has a scanner and the ability to crop with it, and who knows about motor operated camera lenses, be they a parapsychologist, community devloper, vegan or otherwise, to obtain additional digital photos somewhere other than the DMV. Do these profiles with very attractive photos come under more suspicion vis-a-vis the "too good to be true" principle? (Yes, VL, that was a compliment).

OK! I admit it! I mutated my profile! I did! I Did! (bawling...) LOL Seriously, though, I did... But it was the effect of finding someone, not the cause...

A friend at work emails me: Stop checking your email! Get back to work! I call her: "I'm not checking my email, I'm blogging. 'T' smelled a troll." Friend: "Gross!" LOL

What a theory, T! I wasn't here to see all the past tragedies that have been referenced, but I have seen some of the backlash and the ill feelings that remain in the blogs, and I'm sure in the hearts of many. A lot of people got hurt, and others were disenchanted by the "Nascar" experience, and some lost faith, etc. So it makes perfect sense to me that many here are still feeling some degree of sensitivity, and super-careful about not being re-violated. I am quite certain you are not alone in that! I know little to nothing about the validity of comments made in other blogs. Not on the specific topics mentioned. Nonetheless, what I can speak to is the following: Like RG--my experience says trust your gut, and have that guide your actions. You've gotta live within your own skin, so do what you gotta do to take care of yourself. And if that's calling a duck a duck, get quackin'! (Sorry, but it's late, and I found that terribly amusing!!!) Just be clear where your own lines are, and don't cross them. Remind yourself that you may inform others about risk, but you can't stop them from doing risky things. And let it go when you've done your part. Like RG, I chose a new user name. I knew my career-based one was pretty lame, but it was the only thing I could think of when I was writing my profile! LOL I'll also probably revise my profile as I go along, and self-reflect, and attract men that I'm not necessarily looking to attract. I always try to write with the reader in mind. Too much grad school? ;) Level of self-disclosure on blogs, with strangers, etc. is a whole separate topic in my opinion. People have different levels of comfort with that, and ways of building trust, etc., based on past relationships, upbringing, careers, etc. I would say it is one of many things to pay attention to, but not necessarily a determiner of anything dubious. It's when I suddenly feel like buying a lot of mint condition used cars in someone's presence, or start thinking that with just one small move I can live a happy sappy schmoozy woozy life, that I start doubting the source.... Keep on blogging! I value your presence here! ~L

OK!gotcha! I think you are speaking a language we call bull let me tell you why..... Referencing your SUN blog. You say that little particles come through our skin and go into our blood stream, killing the surrounding tissue, drs. call this cancer... what a crock... Let me tell you what I know..because you are talking cells... that is MY language. You see, the sun emits radiation... causing the mutation of the skin cells during metamorphosis, or changing of the cells,, FYI cells are most radio sensitive during their growing stage. This has nothing to do with particles in the blood stream.. Radio sensitive spots on the body are eyes, skin, gonads, and any part of the body that regularly renews itself. The sun's rays activate the melanin in our skin to protect it. Which in itself is activating the metamorphic change which in turn, leaves the skin vulnerable.
