After almost a year, I am moving to my new place that I had built to my needs. It was not so much teh builders, but rather the administrative processes that held it up. I'm very excited and cannot wait. I'm sure some of you have good advice what to look out for and post move-in items that one never think of until it happens. Please comment.

there are many on the market that are quiet and effective. Take a browse through Consumer Reports website,,they have excellent listings. You just want to make sure of two things 1) they are the right size for the rooms ( the literature should tell you what size room they are designed for) 2) that you get the type made for out gassing/chemicals/fumes as opposed to just "purifying"...again,,the product lit. should address that. as for me,,I have a live-plant jungle in my house and live at the beach so I use open windows and plants ! ( not that effective where everything is new...but dont forgot to open the windows often ) Have your friends and family send you houseplants like sanseveria, philodendron, orchids, pothos, deiffenbachia..these are the tough guys who can take the newness.

Opty, hahahaha since I will be living just below a wine estate, I can get a good bottle of wine to accompany the cork screw. Puck, if only I can take a week. Made it easier for me, using movers. Moving on Thursday and have a bit of a long weekend. LC, yes, I'm sorting through stuff now. I will definitely get a broom and call it LC to remind me of you. :):) Darcy, what ionizer do you use? Never heard of this as it will help, because the new house and paint smell is strong. All the best with your move. Thankfully all will be going with the movers in one shot and Cadbury will then go along. Thankfully I don't have much stuff to move. Joys of singlehood I guess. Maybe one of these days some MM members can come and visit.

ide agree with Opt,,make sure a corkscrew is present.. ide suggest some Temple Bells to ring throughout the house before moving in...some wine or a good whiskey to celebrate.. an ionizer to lessen the affects of the "out gassing" process of new materials. I always move the pets first, and the plants last. ( the pets dont get so stressed out if they go the first trip and know they arent being left behind.Of course,,secure them in the new place with some of their toys and their bed etc.) Im moving too,,just not to my own home..at least not this particular time. I hope you have a great time setting up your new dream .....hugs, Darcy
