Are there ever times in your life that something completely crazy has happened to you? If so, do you consider it to be a funny story to share with people and make them laugh? Or do you consider it a complete embarrassment and would never tell anyone, because you are afraid it will make you look stupid?

I've done some/said pretty "stupid, crazy, and perhaps even insane" things in my lifetime. I can remember many years ago never telling anyone what I'd done for fear of being laughed at again. Then I realised that if I laughed about it and laughed with others it wasn't so bad after all. We're simply human and boy can we ever screw up sometimes. I honestly think it's better to laugh about it and share a laugh with others now. Okay since everyone seems to be sharing some pretty good stories (I'm not even going to dare ask how a leaf managed to scare you that badly Amatax3,that's probably another story in itself) I'll share one of my own. Years ago when I was in my late teens I was seeking some wild adventure and thrilled on danger and taking risks so decided to take up trick riding. You know the horse back riding where people jump on and off of horses and ride them while they are moving. I was doing great so long as I had a harness on. The first day I took the harness on I was running beside the horse and was set to hit the spring board and jump up on my trusted stead. I tripped on the spring board and cracked three ribs. To make matters worse I had to be taken to the hospital where my then boyfriend, who was a resident there at the time, was working. The jokes never stopped. Leigh

I have a few embarassing stories that I will take to the grave with me. Other than those exceptions, I am pretty willing to share- I don't mind looking like a fool if it will make someone laugh!

Amatax...that is hilarious...I can't imagine how a leaf scared you. But I once freaked myself out when I saw a man walking around the outside of my house, in the dark. It turned out to be a reflection from the TV onto the window. DUH! lol

Okay, here I am, two years ago, on the phone to the emergency nurse at the local hospital: Me: Can you please tell me how to get pecans out of someone's nose? Nurse: How old is the child, ma'am? Me: Uhm. Forty two. Nurse: Four or two? Me: No, forty two. I am the child. Me. Nurse: Did you say you had pecans up your nose? Me: Yes, thank you. Nurse: You really shouldn't put things up your nose. ......you know, I just can't finish this story. Because if I say the pecans got stuck in my nose because I was badly frightened by a leaf, I will not sound any smarter. And yes, they are out now. I really hate pecans.

honey I am soo honest about everything. I just blurt all my mistakes out. I dont care. You have to share your screwups to humor other people. I love to see people laugh at my pain/life. Makes it more laughable/bearable to me.

Yesterday I was reminded of an incident that occurred 5 yrs ago. I had taken my teens and a few of their friends up skiing. It had snowed all night, there was a foot of fresh powder. In the parking lot, I was directed to park in deep snow along the side of the road. Well, when in fresh snow, the rule is to pack it down so your heated tires (from the hwy driving) won't melt it, creating ice under your tires. I was driving a Suburban. I pulled into the spot he told me to. I had not noticed him walking behind me. This guy was standing at the very back, in a blind spot. I backed up 12 inches to pack the snow...I hear this thump, something hitting my vehicle. I checked my side & rear mirrors...saw nothing. I turned all the way around and looked out the rear window. Saw nothing. So I put it in Drive and drove forward 12 inches! Again I hear this thump, like something banging against my vehicle. I check side & rear mirrors, look out rear window again. Don't see anything. Perplexed I open the door to get out and check. This guy comes from behind my vehicle brushing the snow from himself. He had been standing in the blind spot when I backed up and hit him, knocking him off his feet. While he was picking himself up, the leg of his ski pant caught on my bike rack part in my trailer hitch. So when I pulled forward, I yanked his leg out from under him, and he went flying again...hence the 2nd bang! Fortunately he was okay. LMAO My kids still give me a hard time about that incident.

runforrestrun...too funny...I'm the same way! Although recently, I have told a couple of friends...simply because they were curious how I know people in various places throughout the World. I've met them all thru MM...males & females. They are great people, so I can't be embarrassed about that!
