So, my mother and I had this discussion today about voting Democrat or Republican. There was a smear campaign against Tammy Duckworth (a Democrat) about how she wanted to allow illegal immigration, and giving them free social security, making our taxes go up. I told her that if that were true, that I wouldn't vote for her just because she's a Democrat. Just like I wouldn't vote for Hilary just because she's a woman, or O'Bama because he's black. And I sure as hell wouldn't vote for Condoleezza Rice under any circumstancesm should she run. I'll vote for who is the most qualified, and I won't put each party into a group of Democrats and Republicans and say "this one good, this one bad." Anyone agree or didsagree? Qualified person first, or their party?

NativeNY: Unfortunately, a lot of people don't feel this way. A lot of people are stuck inside of their political boxes. And Mariana? Well... he does have a nice head of hair, lol.

Mariana- I here you. I'm getting kind of disappointed in my generation... I think there's been enough mistakes made, but I don't know who's going to step up and rectify them. LagoComo: Obama- yes... Spelling errors happen :) No, actually- Kerry said he refuses to apologize. The man is a veteran; of course he wouldn't make fun of the troops. But the Republicans are looking for any which to way to bring good Democrats like Kerry down. It's such a stupid reason to attack him, but it's all they could come up with. Just like with Clinton- trying to discredit him with some B.S. Kerry goofed- his note card said "...stuck in Iraq like Bush," but he adlibbed it and left that last bit out. But anyone with half a brain knows he didn't mean the men and women fighting over there. And what gets me really P.O.ed is people saying that Kerry or people who don't support the war are unpatriotic, but don't have any family members in the war themselves or who are unwilling to go over there too and fight this war that they think is worthy. Unbelievable.

Mariana- Yea, it probably is. Corruption (unfortunately) is what makes the world go round, and we're human, and some are more amoral then most. Angelface- To me, no I don't think that Condie would trump Hilary or O'bama or Kerry (now that he's grown a pair). And I'm not saying one party is more qualified than the other, though most feel that way either or. I'm just saying are people going to vote for just their party because it's their party, and not even caring about that particular politician's politics or what have you. LagoComo- You're right; it's the lies that piss me off, but that's never going to stop. And yes, Black/Irish, I know ;) But a lot of people will discount one of those halves... depends on who you are which one. And I would never put myself in such cut and dry categories. They're much too broad...
