Do we GAMBLE w/ each other's hearts? 185 Views 07/30/11

I’ve had several short term relationships in life which has left me to wonder. Are we all just gambling with each other’s hearts and when we lose, we simply move to a different playing table? I often think if we could just shake the dice a little differently, or use different chips; then perhaps we might all WIN at love?

After reviewing many "dating profiles" and engaging myself in conversation with others, I notice it isn’t only the women who seem to be disgruntled with dating. It also appears men are growing just as tired of the revolving door “love” seems to swing in everyone’s direction.

My question is…. If we gamble with other people’s hearts all the time, does this mean we are gambling with our own? At the end of the day do we even have much “heart” left in us, or have we been so used like the chips swept away at the table after a big loss, there is nothing left? Is the risk worth the price we pay?

Gambling, like many other hobbies becomes an addiction to many. Some people lose houses and families in the mist of their “fetish for thrill” never to return to their previous lives. I wonder, does this happen to some of us on a major quest for love? Are we capable of “losing all bets”....  forever, resolving our hearts never to receive the love we once desired so strongly? Perhaps our energy has been so consumed and absorbed during the process; there will one day be nothing left to give? Is this humanly possible? Is this what makes some people appear so damn unlovable and bitter? Were they at one point on such a fervor for love they have finally “lost” so many times, they remain in the mire like an addict who can’t make his way off the streets?

I just wonder.. If we are all so busy “gambling with other people's hearts”, at the end of the day, where does that leave our own?

~~ BEST WISHES TO ALL in 2013 ~~ 286 Views 12/31/12

Just want to wish everyone a WONDERFUL NEW YEAR!!  ;)

I am a firm believer if we set our focus on the the bad things in our life, we will find nothing but the negative..

And if we seek out the good qualities, we will find ourselves surrounded by the positive...

I feel the same way about people.

We all have our flaws and weaknesses; but if we seek out the "goodness" in others, we can surely find something positive they may have to offer. Make the decision to find the POSITIVE in EVERYTHING!

There is nothing stronger than the human mind, and we are what we feed it.

HERE'S TO A NEW YEAR FILLED WITH OVER-FLOWING POSITIVE MEMORIES!!

   ~~~~HAPPY NEW YEAR EVERYONE~~~~
Sad day for our Country 729 Views 12/14/12
♥♥♥ It is a sad moment in time when little innocent lives are so viciously taken. There simply is not, nor will there ever be, an explanation for something so heinous to occur. I am just reading of this horrific tragedy and just hours ago I was in a Catholic Cathedral praying for my own children's lives, though I am admittedly not Catholic. (I feel God hears regardless of religious preference. ) Tomorrow I will head back to the same spot and pray more fervently for those who have lost what they held most precious in their lives. GOD BLESS ALL THOSE SHAKEN BY THIS TRAGEDY AND MAY HE COMFORT THOSE IN THEIR SORROW.. ♥♥♥
Nine Lives??? 499 Views 12/24/12
Dear MM Bloggers,
If you have "Survived" yet ANOTHER "End Of The World"...... Please contact your Princess here and inform me of your status!! I'm "HOPING" Everyone is okay!! ;)
When I was a little girl, my mother was convinced by her JW "cult," the end of the world was coming on a certain day in 1975. Incredibly, I SURVIVED this "END" @ the ripe young age of 8!! (Can you imagine the FEAR I felt living as a child thinking I was going to die? And "Armageddon" in their eyes was to be a horrific death!! And if I recall, there were some issues with Russia at the time and I just knew I was going to be blown up by nuclear bombs because my mother always had the news on!!) Now maybe you know why I dislike following politics and history... I was convinced my house would be raided just like Hitler did with the Jews.. and I was taught I was not allowed to "fight back," as killing was "wrong." Jeez.. Thinking about it, it's a wonder I am half sane people!! LOL...
Additionally, I will have you know, I Survived when the calendar changed for 2000 and the World was to shut down. In fact, I was on my computer at exactly midnight to "unplug it" in case it started acting wierd! BWahahahahaha!! (Oh, and I didnt have money in the bank.. Not because I was worried over the Millenium changing my wealth status..... but I preferred my $7.56 be on my person!)
And now I awoke to see I have "Survived" once again...
I AM SIMPLY AMAZING!!!
So if any of you have "Survived," please hit me up! I feel like I am in that Will Smith movie seeking Survivors. Hope I don't start speaking to manicans! People already look at me oddly when I talk to myself at Wal-Mart...
Well, I survived and I wanted to let you guys know! Your Princess is safe and sound.. in Columbia.. That's South Carolina folks, not the country! HeeHee~~
AND NOW MAYBE YOU KNOW WHY I PREFER FAIRY TALES WITH HAPPY ENDINGS???
Now where did I hide my crown? (I didn't want anyone to take it in case I was invaded, so I hid it!) Bwahahahahaha!
~~Dear Agnostic / Atheist Bloggers~~ 41 Views 12/31/12
HI My Agnostic and Atheist friends!!!!
SO MUCH dissension has been created lately directly reflecting on the opposing views of Christians VS. Atheist... Rather than fight, I prefer "Understanding" and "Acceptance" of others views. Therefore I wish to pose a question for my own personal enlightenment....
For the individuals who do NOT believe Jesus is our Savior, do you celebrate Christmas? As I was growing up, I was not "allowed" to celebrate ANY holidays, or my birthday; so when I left home, I started celebrating EVERYTHING I could! It was a huge deal when I purchased my first Christmas tree and although I only recently "accepted" Jesus, I STILL celebrated Christmas, (NOT even knowing what the meaning behind it was) So I bought my children presents, listened to the music etc. I did this although I was agnostic until I was in my 40's, because I wanted my children to "be normal" and "fit in"; the things I never felt when I was young and as a bonus, it was "fun!" WHO DOESN'T LIKE GETTING PRESENTS! ;)
So, do you, as a non-believer celebrate Christmas and put up a tree and buy gifts etc? Or do you tell your children you don't believe in Jesus as being God's son, so you omit the holiday? I mean, Christmas IS about Jesus.... But I celebrated for years despite no real understanding of the celebration.
AND, does being Agnostic or Atheist affect any other holidays like Easter? I know many Christians who are against Halloween. (I am not one of them... I use it to play "dress up!")
I know the Jewish community believes Jesus existed, and was a great man; just not the son of God. Does the Jewish faith believe Jesus was resurrected? If so, do they celebrate Easter as the resurrection of Jesus? One thing I have noted that I admire of the Jewish faith is "acceptance of others!" (Except for marriage! LOL)
Anyway, I was not "allowed" the freedom to explore such things as a child. I wasn't even allowed friends in the outside world. I've never explored these issues and I am not one who will go all crazy if someone doesn't feel the way I do, so I thought I might ask what others believe. I do not feel we are all to believe in Jesus. I mean, it SAYS SO in that thing we call THE BIBLE, so why would I ever argue with someone about it?
So if anyone wishes to enlighten me here, please do. NOTE: This is NOT a debate on God! I think we've all had enough of that! I merely am asking how holidays such as Christmas affects non-believers.
I respect the right for everyone to hold and share their own views. In fact, I expect it! As a Christian, the Bible tells me not everyone will believe the same as I do. I didn't even believe as I do until I was 41! Therefore I feel  it is "innapropriate" trying to convince anyone to believe as I believe by typing words on a keyboard. I am more an action girl. Fighting over beliefs is stupid in my eyes. I also find that type behavior to be disrepectful to others, regardless their belief. If anyone becomes nasty, or is disrespectful, I will exercise my right to delete and possiby block members.
THANK YOU~
Release the BILE.... 270 Views 12/17/12
There was a little boy who loved the New York Giants, and another little boy who might have been the worlds best mechanic one day. No doubt some of the little girls were "tomboys", while others only wore frilly dresses and draped themselves in their mothers scarves and shoes. An NYPD Lieutenant lost his nephew in the shooting. One mother lost her "Emilie".... (I am blessed to still have mine....)
I read the Principal lost her life in trying to defend the children and herself. One teacher was said to have locked her entire classroom in an adjoining bathroom where she could not fit. She had the children crammed in so tightly some were standing in the toilet. She left them locked safely, only to lose her own life. One janitor went around to the classrooms to make sure the doors were locked from the inside to keep the children safe. He was gunned down heniously in the hall. I guess he should have hidden. (Not really.)
Ironically, we think of our "HEROES" in the military, but we have true American Heroes all around us. Remember the Pennsylvania field?
In light of this tragic event, I personally am requesting we all try a little harder to be accepting and loving toward one another and empower ourselves with a little more resolve to make a difference in each other's lives, not hinder one another's growth. There is enough "filth" in the air not to add to the mixture.
Perhaps some of us have dealt with our own nastiness in our personal lives. I think it is time to "let that go."
Take a moment and reflect inside yourselves. What is important to you? Is it really to have the last word in that argument, or to not be the one at fault? If those things are what matter to you, you may need a huge reality check. If there is one thing I am good at teaching, it is realism. I've laid on my death bed with my own little Emily screaming while holding onto her daddy's leg, "What's wrong with my mommy!!" The fright in her voice was so loud, I think the emergency walls shook! She was the age of many of the slain children, the innocent age of six. Turned out her mommy had massive peritinitis and almost died from all the bile being absorbed in my body. POISON KILLS.... It appears your colon really serves a major purpose and needs to be free of holes!! ;) Two weeks later, I was released from the hospital wearing a "crap bag" and held a new "bag of anger" for God, if there was one, (I was agnostic at the time) and I faced a whole new set of anger in life. It took 6 months for the bag to be reversed and a hell of a lot longer for the scars to start healing. I am speaking "emotional," as the visible scars will always remain. It is events, as this tragedy teachers now refer to "their 9-11", that carry me back and serve as a reminder as to what is truly important in life.
It isn't having the last word, or winning an argument or everyone taking your side. The truth of the matter is, "releasing the venom," the bile that seeps inside us... THAT is what matters most. We are of no good to others while carrying around a bag of "hatred." The survivors of this tragedy have a difficult road ahead. The bumpy road to "FORGIVENESS..." I think this is what most people miss who are Christians. I don't see God "forgives us" for "us".... He "FORGIVES" us for Himself! Otherwise, He'd have to carry a mighty heavy load for all the sins we "willingly" commit. Let those of us who believe, pray for Strength to HEAL...
"Father I pray all the individuals involved and extended in this massacre get the help they need to move forward without holding on to the venom that must flood their veins right now. Help these babies and the community to heal in a healthy manner. Hatred is a strong emotion and I can only imagine the anger they must feel toward this young man, his family, life, and possibly You. As you know, hatred is truly a nasty noose we place around our own neck. Allow no one to steal their JOY for the rest of their fleshly lives. Bitterness is a nasty seed to sow. Help these survivors to recognize this and to embrace "forgiveness" in order to thrive peacefully in life. Anyone with half common sense should recognize forgiveness isn't about the other party... it is about extending ourselves in order to heal properly. It is "Agape Love." But I guess I know this better than most, don't I Father? I already feel I know where the slain are Father, so I speak not for them. I request You blanket those who still feel the pain, including the shooters remaining family and loved ones. In Jesus name I pray. Amen."
EVERYONE is entitled to their opinion.. EVERYONE is entitled to share their views on other peoples opinions as well... However, for one to take such measures as to have someone "REMOVED" is going far beyond the scope of what they are entitled to, IMHO. (In My Humble Opinion)
No two people will EVER have the same thoughts or agree 100%...nor should they....
I myself apologized to a lady this week, as our discussion spiraled out of control. These things happen!! I was personally uncomfortable with how heated things became and felt, "This is not the image I wish to portray as a woman who tries to follow in Christ shadow." I often fail, (more often than not honestly.... but everyday I start anew...) She and I were fortunate we were allowed to air our views and in the end came to a mutual truce on our differences. This is how we each learn from one another and grow as individuals. As a newer Christian I am saddened to see not all Christians follow the words they spew on paper. The Bible I read says to "love your enemies." Nowhere have I read, "Get people thrown off a site because they hurt your feelings and you think they are rude to you." If "religion" or God is that strong of a pull for someone, there are other sites that are based on this premise. We blog about sex, toys, infidelity, and several other "adult" topics.
If we were not allowed to express matters "freely", we would hold no need to be "UNIQUE" ...
We would be more "robotic" and we would never expand our mindsets.
Therefore, at the end of the day... whether right, wrong or indifferent...
EVERYONE should have the FREEDOM to EXPRESS their OPINIONS..
BEN STEIN'S THOUGHTS..... (2005) 141 Views 11/08/12
With the election finally over and the Holidays approaching, I felt it might be a great time to share this commentary I recently read that gave me "food for thought." Although it was written in 2005, I feel it applies heavily to today's times.
I myself have grown tired of hearing advice on how to greet others during Christmas time ... "Say Happy Holidays... Don't say Merry Christmas!" As a newer CHRISTian... (4 years now) I WANT to say MERRY CHRISTMAS and I've wanted to say it since I was a little girl who would hide in my room singing "Rocking Around the Christmas Tree" "hoping" my mother wouldn't come in and take the tape away from me. (non Christian) I wasn't allowed the FREEDOM to partake in Christmas, so now I want to relish it for the newer meaning I know of it... So I want to cherish it for MY newfound beliefs.. not some commercialized "Let's make it work for everyone" hype!
Oddly, I have felt a certain connection with a couple of Jewish men. First with Rabbi Albert Lewis as portrayed in "Have a Little Faith" by Mitch Albom (another Jew) and in reading this, I enjoy Ben's open wisdom as well....  ACCEPTANCE, for me, IS KEY....... I accept others, despite what they may NOT believe in... Therefore I would like a little respect and common courtesy for what I feel is important. I feel Ben says this best....
The following was written by Ben Stein and recited by him on CBS Sunday  Morning  Commentary.
My confession:
I am a Jew, and every single one of my ancestors was Jewish.  And it does not bother me even a little bit when people call those beautiful lit up, bejeweled trees, Christmas trees...  I don't feel threatened..  I don't feel discriminated against.. That's what they are, Christmas trees.
It doesn't bother me a bit when people say, 'Merry Christmas' to me.  I don't think they are slighting me or getting ready to put me in a ghetto.  In fact, I kind of like it.  It shows that we are all brothers and sisters celebrating this happy time of year. It doesn't bother me at all that there is a manger scene on display at a key intersection near my beach house in Malibu .  If people want a creche, it's just as fine with me as is the Menorah a few hundred yards away.
I don't like getting pushed around for being a Jew, and I don't think Christians like getting pushed around for being Christians.  I think people who believe in God are sick and tired of getting pushed around, period.  I have no idea where the concept came from, that America is an explicitly atheist country.  I can't find it in the Constitution and I don't like it being shoved down my throat.
Or maybe I can put it another way: where did the idea come from that we should worship celebrities and we aren't allowed to worship God as we understand Him?  I guess that's a sign that I'm getting old, too.  But there are a lot of us who are wondering where these celebrities came from and where the America we knew went to.
In light of the many jokes we send to one another for a laugh, this is a little different:  This is not intended to be a joke; it's not funny, it's intended to get you thinking.
In light of recent events... terrorists attack, school shootings, etc..  I think it started when Madeleine Murray O'Hare (she was murdered, her body found a few years ago) complained she didn't want prayer in our schools, and we said OK.  Then someone said you better not read the Bible in school.  The Bible says thou shalt not kill; thou shalt not steal, and love your neighbor as yourself.  And we said OK.
Then Dr. Benjamin Spock said we shouldn't spank our children when they misbehave, because their little personalities would be warped and we might damage their self-esteem (Dr. Spock's son committed suicide).  We said an expert should know what he's talking about..  And we said okay..
Now we're asking ourselves why our children have no conscience, why they don't know right from wrong, and why it doesn't bother them to kill strangers, their classmates, and themselves.
Probably, if we think about it long and hard enough, we can figure it out.  I think it has a great deal to do with 'WE REAP WHAT WE SOW.'
Funny how simple it is for people to trash God and then wonder why the world's going to hell.  Funny how we believe what the newspapers say, but question what the Bible says.  Funny how you can send 'jokes' through e-mail and they spread like wildfire, but when you start sending messages regarding the Lord, people think twice about sharing.  Funny how lewd, crude, vulgar and obscene articles pass freely through cyberspace, but public discussion of God is suppressed in the school and workplace.
Are you laughing yet?
Funny how when you forward this message, you will not send it to many on your address list because you're not sure what they believe, or what they will think of you for sending it.
Funny how we can be more worried about what other people think of us than what God thinks of us.
Pass it on if you think it has merit.
If not, then just discard it... no one will know you did.  But, if you discard this thought process, don't sit back and complain about what bad shape the world is in.
My Best Regards,  Honestly and respectfully,
Ben Stein
SHAG/SCOOB vs. FUDD/BUGS! 165 Views 10/03/12
THIS JUST IN!!!
I have been informed by "Unknown" and "Unreliable" Sources, our very own "child-hood hero" ... SHAGGY is running for President! THAT'S RIGHT!!
SHAGGY FOR PRESIDENT!
Of course his favorite side-kick SCOOBY-DOO will be his running mate!!
As it turns out... NO ONE could agree, and even members of both political parties were not exactly "overjoyed" with their selections for the November race; so they have determined finding an "outsider" who will work (or NOT work) for mere "Scooby Snacks" would make a finer selection! This will save on costs to our Presidency as Shaggy needn't money and Scooby has refused to wear $500,000 dresses and can't stand cavier and champagne!!! IT'S A WIN-WIN AMERICA!! ;)
It is my understanding the first item on their agenda will be "Legalizing Wacky Weed" and embarking on a 50,000 acre "Scooby Snack- Organic" farm. Turns out all those years before pesticides and chemicals were considered "harmful"... Shaggy and Scooby were already a leg up on the importance of "natural herbs!"
WHODA THUNK!
So everyone! Pencil it in election time! Shaggy and Scooby are making a comeback! Umm... "IF" they can remember when to show up! I understand that green stuff takes a toll on one's memory.... But hey, I don't know from experience.... I'M JUST GUESSING!
But it sure explains all that smoke always coming out of the "Mystery Machine" and all the food cravings!!
TOODLES ALL!
KEEP LAUGHTER in Your Lives...... It really IS the Best Medicine! :)
Our SISTER-HOOD 130 Views 09/04/11
I had been engrossed in the movie “SEX and the CITY” and witnessed Samantha feed Carrie after her humiliating ordeal with “BIG” dumping her before their wedding ceremony. It was almost as if I was transformed into that very scene and could have been on either side of the spoon. My eyes filled with tears feeling Carries’ heart wrenching pain and Samantha’s undying love for her friend. At the precise moment after viewing this, I received an email from one of my GF on this site telling me what has been transpiring in her life. MANY BLESSINGS ARE HEADED HER WAY, but only AFTER enduring many years in an unfulfilled and abusive relationship! Tears filled my eyes once more as I read her words of new found happiness. I am delighted for her to be “moving up” in LOVE after her downward battle in pain! There is always HOPE around the corner, we just have to keep the FAITH during our struggles. This is where “TRUE BONDING” between our “sisters” comes so abundantly crystal clear of how much resolve in ourselves we pull from one anothers' strength.
It has become apparent many people read my words; especially the ladies I somehow “touch”, unknowingly! This week I was blessed with introduction to 3 women I had never met and who have never even posted on one of my blogs. Each wrote privately to express their views on how I have somehow touched their hearts by doing what I enjoy and what comes naturally for me; to place my thoughts on paper. I feel extremely blessed to be.. just “little ole me!” God gave me a heart that feels w/ such intensity it is difficult for me not to express my “emotions.” My expressions tend to come out with passion, zest and fervor; therefore I am further graced sometimes leaving others with some sort of footprint. I have been this way since I was a little girl. I have heard these confirmations my entire life.
So I felt I would share some thoughts on our “SISTER-HOOD”… the deeply felt connection when two strange women can see one another from across a crowded room and know what the other is thinking. The unspoken motherly bond we connect w/ when we see a frustrated mother w/ whiny children at the store, and we smile at them, pat their back and encouragingly say, “You are doing a fine job. You should have seen my little Mikey! Boy was he a pistol!” And the frazzled mother exchanges a smile as you see her eyes starting to tear. You never truly know if she was at her final breaking point, or if you just touched her heart that immensely. Perhaps it was a little of both. If you have never been blessed with this type bonding with a strange woman ladies, I pray one day you do. And should your life not be filled with girl friends that are there for you regardless of the circumstances, I pray one day you will.
THERE IS AN UNSPOKEN RULE BETWEEN WOMEN WHO TRULY BOND AND CONNECT. It’s called being an UNCONDITIONAL FRIEND. Regardless of whether you agree with one anothers' choices and decisions, an UNCONDITIONAL FRIEND NEVER leaves your side. The connection TRUE BFF’s share is simply UNBREAKABLE. There is no CONDEMNATION, JUDGMENT or the throwing of stones when one falters. And there is ALWAYS a soft place to land when the earth shatters and it feels as if the world is caving in on us.
I watch as Carrie rushes to Miranda’s new home after she left Steve for cheating on her. It is a New Year’s Eve which would otherwise have been spent alone by both parties. The two friends chose to be lonely, “together.” I recall countless hours stroking several girlfriends’ heads after a bad break up, and having several cradle me after somehow my world had collapsed around me. It’s an unwritten rule. We do not leave our own kind when wounded.
So for any of you ladies watching and wondering, I THANK YOU as well for being who you are. I see you cruise my page and read my blogs and I too, gather strength from you! Many times we gather strength from the simplest things in life. And some of those simplest things in life are merely simple people like me, with nothing other than our heart hanging on our sleeve for everyone’s view. True, some may poke, some may judge, others may condemn. But the women who hold “TRUE SPIRIT” inside themselves can always find at least one piece of beauty when a masterpiece shatters.
Just remember 3 things as we walk past one another:
BEAUTY EMBRACES- WRAPPING ITSELF AROUND OTHER BEAUTY,
POSITIVE RESPONSES REFLECT POSITIVE REACTIONS,
AND THE POWER OF LOVE BREEDS FORTH MORE LOVE.
When we walk with LOVE in our hearts, we will be amazed by the “BEAUTY” that surrounds us! THANK YOU to ALL the “beautiful women” who have written me and who just follow me to follow. I am blessed and encouraged to be surrounded by “your beauty!”
With all sincerity,
Hope
SACK LUNCHES.. VET story to share..... 131 Views 04/17/12
I received this in an email a while back and wanted to share, as it touched my heart... Regardless ones belief in war, where they are located geographically, or what team "PAYS" for them.... The SOLDIERS who fight our battles should be RESPECTED and THANKED for their service to whatever degree their cost. This is a little reminder. ************ I put my carry-on in the luggage compartment and sat down in my assigned seat. It was going to be a long flight. 'I'm glad I have a good book to read. Perhaps I will get a short nap,' I thought. Just before take-off, a line of soldiers came down the aisle and filled all the vacant seats, totally surrounding me. I decided to start a conversation. 'Where are you headed?' I asked the soldier seated nearest to me. 'Petawawa. We'll be there for two weeks for special training, and then we're being deployed to Afghanistan." After flying for about an hour, an announcement was made that sack lunches were available for five dollars. It would be several hours before we reached the east, and I quickly decided a lunch would help pass the time... As I reached for my wallet, I overheard a soldier ask his buddy if he planned to buy lunch. 'No, that seems like a lot of money for just a sack lunch. Probably wouldn't be worth five bucks. I'll wait till we get to base.' His friend agreed. I looked around at the other soldiers. None were buying lunch. I walked to the back of the plane and handed the flight attendant a fifty dollar bill. 'Take a lunch to all those soldiers.' She grabbed my arms and squeezed tightly. Her eyes wet with tears, she thanked me. 'My son was a soldier in Iraq ; it's almost like you are doing it for him.' Picking up ten sacks, she headed up the aisle to where the soldiers were seated. She stopped at my seat and asked, 'Which do you like best - beef or chicken?' 'Chicken,' I replied, wondering why she asked. She turned and went to the front of plane, returning a minute later with a dinner plate from first class. 'This is your thanks.' After we finished eating, I went again to the back of the plane, heading for the rest room. A man stopped me. 'I saw what you did. I want to be part of it. Here, take this.' He handed me twenty-five dollars. Soon after I returned to my seat, I saw the Flight Captain coming down the aisle, looking at the aisle numbers as he walked, I hoped he was not looking for me, but noticed he was looking at the numbers only on my side of the plane. When he got to my row he stopped, smiled, held out his hand and said, 'I want to shake your hand.' Quickly unfastening my seat belt I stood and took the Captain's hand. With a booming voice he said, 'I was a soldier and I was a military pilot. Once, someone bought me a lunch. It was an act of kindness I never forgot.' I was embarrassed when applause was heard from all of the passengers. Later I walked to the front of the plane so I could stretch my legs. A man who was seated about six rows in front of me reached out his hand, wanting to shake mine. He left another twenty-five dollars in my palm. When we landed I gathered my belongings and started to deplane. Waiting just inside the airplane door was a man who stopped me, put something in my shirt pocket, turned, and walked away without saying a word. Another twenty-five dollars! Upon entering the terminal, I saw the soldiers gathering for their trip to the base. I walked over to them and handed them seventy-five dollars. 'It will take you some time to reach the base. It will be about time for a sandwich. God Bless You.' Ten young men left that flight feeling the LOVE and RESPECT of their fellow travelers. As I walked briskly to my car, I whispered a prayer for their safe return. These soldiers were giving their all for our country. I could only give them a couple of meals. It seemed so little.... A veteran is someone who, at one point in his life, wrote a blank check made payable to 'The United States of America ' for an amount of 'up to and including my life.' THAT IS HONOR....... AND THERE ARE WAY TOO MANY PEOPLE IN THIS COUNTRY WHO DO NOT UNDERSTAND THIS.' Author Unknown.... *********************** According to the National Coalition for Homeless Veterans... we have on any given night, up to 67,000 VETS who are HOMELESS.. It is stated over 50% are "mentally ill"... I hold issue with the government being in charge of our health care, if no other reason than this.. If a man can't feed his own family, he has no business feeding someone else's. WE AREN'T FEEDING AND HOUSING THE ONES WHO WROTE A BLANK CHECK .. WITH THE POSSIBILITY OF ENDING THEIR LIVES.. The side of the war anyone is on.. should not matter. The soldiers opinion is negate when they sign that piece of paper. At the end of the day... what matters is we provide for those who sacrifice MOST... GOD BLESS OUR SOLDIERS... PAST, PRESENT AND FUTURE!!
CHEATING .. PART 2 Pls read 1 FIRST! 1425 Views 07/09/11
Does this mean the cheater does not “love” his / her spouse? I don’t think in most cases that means this at all. I cheated after 11 years, not something I am proud of, but hey, I’ll stand in the line of fire and get singed if it happens to make me a better woman today than yesterday. I loved my husband and our children. Was I SELFISH? Absolutely! It was also selfish on HIS part when I reached out to my husband for years telling him he did not devote any attention to me anymore, we never did anything alone and on the few occasions we did, not only did I have to plan it, but he was always talking about the children or work and the focus was never on his wife. In essence, I felt HE HAD LEFT ME before infidelity began. And for anyone wondering your answer is: “No, he never cheated, despised cheating and to this day resents my betrayal. He also has never owned up to HIS PORTION of our failing marriage.”
There are many dynamics involved in being a “couple.” Anyone on this site is either single searching, or married and not quite as happy in life as they would like to be. So in the end, is WHY a person cheats on YOU, or why YOU cheated relevant? I say ABSOLUTLEY! A relationship takes TWO willing participants and in “most” cases, BOTH PARTIES have CHECKED OUT long before the cheating begins or the storm ends! I have found the ones who remain resentful after the storm blows over never truly “get” they played a role in this tragic betrayal!
I have to be honest. I take a step back when I find out a man’s wife cheated on him. WHY? Because as a woman who has been through this, I look for “signs” he is emotionally w/drawn or unavailable.  It has been my personal experience and through what I have witnessed, I am already guessing he wasn’t “emotionally available” for his wife, so he will not fill my emotional needs either!  I know myself all too well to recognize I crave “emotional security and attention!” My first clue I missed with my ex? Well the fact he told me EVERY woman he had ever had a serious relationship with had cheated on him PRIOR to his entering my life. That was a neon sign I missed! I was only 20 though, so I didn’t view life as I do now in my 40’s! But if you have a constant barrage of men or women cheating on you as my ex did… you may wish to examine your OWN behavior in relationships. Something you do or don’t do pushes the other to cheat. Some will argue, “Well why is EVERYONE I choose a cheat? I just choose cheaters!” I recommend you look to how YOU TREAT THEM first. We are only in charge of our “OWN ACTIONS”, not everyone else’s!
Please do not misunderstand me. I am in no way advocating “cheaters” behavior, or making excuses for those of us who have chosen an “improper” path. I just wish to express it is not always as cut and dry as some may feel. I also wish to convey, if you have ever cheated or been cheated on, in the future it might also be more beneficial to look toward what your “needs” are, whether the person you meet shows signs they are capable of fulfilling them, and whether or not this is someone you can see as “the last person you ever have an intimate relationship with.”
Because at the end of the day, it DOES matter! If we don’t LEARN what caused us to cheat, or what we missed that caused our partner to cheat, the cycle will be repeated again and again, as the “cheater” or the “cheated!”  How do I know this to be true? Well, now my ex has “one more woman” who dumped on him because essentially HE has never learned from his past. He chooses women who need his emotional understanding, and he lacks in this arena! I craved a husband who told me I was beautiful, would bring me flowers or would just text to say hello or “I love you.” I received NONE of this from DAY 1! Instead I received a man who would come in throw his clothes all over, make messes everywhere and sit in front of the tv while I tried to get his attention in cute little nighties after the kids went to bed.  His emphasis was always on his work, what the children were doing, how tired he was and honestly he was so focused on everything BUT ME, he was too exhausted to have anything left to give his wife! If you do not put your spouse FIRST, your children will suffer in the end. What have I learned by being the “cheat?” I learned I must find a man who gives me the emotional support I crave, will not dismiss me when I speak, and who is a more romantic, expressive type man who will show his love for me with “action.” Was my husband a “bad” person? Absolutely not! Am I a “bad” person? Absolutely not! WE didn’t give one another what we needed in the relationship and I “faltered” in the cheating arena FIRST! A relationship takes TWO devoted people committed to doing whatever it takes to withstand the test of time. He wanted me home for YEARS after I left. I refused, knowing he was incapable of giving me what I needed to be happy. I could not change who he was any more than he could change what my emotional and physical needs were!
So, in the end it is my belief, IT ALL MATTERS…..
And people should remember….
CHEATING, (however wrong it may be)
IS ONLY THE SYMPTOM OF AN ALREADY FAILING MARRIAGE…
IT IS NOT THE DISEASE!!
When everyone starts taking responsibility for THEIR PORTION in their failed relationships, perhaps they wouldn’t remain so angry about how poorly their spouse treated them.
Thank you~
A DROP does NOT = a TABLESPOON!! 157 Views 11/13/11
MANY MAY WONDER HOW A BLONDE ENTERTAINS HERSELF ON A LONELY SUNDAY NIGHT WHILE AWAITING "THE GOOD WIFE" TO COME ON.....
Well......
Things can get a bit "complicated" when one decides to use regular dish soap in the dishwasher...
NOTE: A DROP is NOT equivalent to a TABLESPOON!! A DROP is only a SMALL amount..
(and I have been told only use 2 DROPS when utilizing normal dish liquid for dishwasher soap!)
PLEAZZZEEE... Do NOT try this at home!! It might not be pretty!
I'm still "rinsing"!!! HeeHeeHee~~
Just sayin.... ;)
To ALL our VETERANS.. THANK YOU~ 151 Views 11/11/11
I was raised to believe the military was filled with "bad murderous men" dammed to a death with no hope of resurrection by a woman whose religious faith hadn't allowed any kind of government involvement at all. I was taught to vote was a sin and anyone involved in political affairs lived a life "unworthy" of God. My mother’s religion was FREE to teach this premise; despite the fact the religion she chose never understood this.
Regardless their beliefs, I am FREE to walk outside my home and pick up the newspaper outside my door; which is FREE to publish whatever they wish. I am FREE to complain about waiting 10 minutes in a grocery line where I can buy as much bread and milk as I want and not have to wait a week to get it. I am FREE to buy whatever my heart desires and do not have to answer for every action in my life. No one dictates what I wear or whom I answer to. When I purchase the vehicle of MY choice I am FREE to roam wherever, whenever and however I want. I am FREE to select the career of my choice to maintain this monetary status and FREE to obtain an education wherever I choose.
I am FREE to buy and bear arms and FREE from slavery in my own country. I am FREE to vote and FREE to serve any God I want at any time regardless, day or night. I am FREE to roam my streets if I wish. My fear of being shot is from misguided hoodlums, not by my own government for trying to climb a wall. I am FREE to draw, write or speak whatever I wish whenever I deem necessary. Everyone here is FREE to read or not to read.
In the United States of America, though this appalls me, I am even FREE to burn our own countries flag on my front lawn, or possibly even the front lawn of The White House if I can climb the fence. I would be arrested for "trespassing," not burning of our flag.  I am even FREE to die wherever I wish. In fact I am SO FREE in this country of ours, the only thing detouring some of my goals would be money, which is basically the only thing that seems to not be FREE around here, unless I own a bank and need a FREE "bailout."  Handouts come FREE to many with some headaches, but I can obtain welfare, food stamps, health care and various "public assistance" if I show a true need for it or learn to "work" our system.
So in a "World filled with heavy prices," I welcome we ALL show a little respect and remembrance of who gave us that FREEDOM in the first place.  I know I will.
To ALL our vets who have paid with the dearest price of their life so that my FREEDOM remains, I THANK THEM and their families for their sacrifice. To ALL the vets currently and previously who have paid be it by their time, family, or wherever they have suffered, I THANK YOU as well.
Many people take these "everyday" privileges for granted because it has always been here in our lifetime. Many people do not realize how powerful FREEDOM is and what a luxury has been granted in our honor.  There were lifetimes ago when such FREEDOM did not exist. Please remember this as you set out in your robe to head to the foot of your driveway to grab the paper and read whatever some "seasoned" author or some nutcase chose to write that you may have the privilege of reading. In many countries Bibles are smuggled in; the citizens caught with them go to prison. They in affect lose further FREEDOM for trying to gain a little LIBERTY in their life.
A Price was paid, and whatever side of the fence you sit is NOT WHAT MATTERS in the end. It certainly does not matter on VETERANS Day. Our RESPECT, HONOR and LOYALTY to ones who have paid the highest price of all is the only recognition they get at the end of their lives. They have pledged their being to serve us so that this FREEDOM we often take for granted remains and ask no questions when duty calls.
Minimal, for one day, kiss this highly indebt soil you walk on. And then, walk up and say THANK YOU to a VET. You not only preserve the sanctity of our nations premise, but you show compassion for those who have sacrificed most.
HAPPY VETERANS DAY to ALL who have served!!
There may be times... 172 Views 11/07/11
At many points in life, each of us has valuable lessons to learn. I know for myself, I am undoubtedly a front runner in this crazy rat-race called LIFE! I see that hopefully one of our newest bloggers has learned a valuable lesson regarding human decency and empathy; but more so I hope she took with her a self-awareness regarding how important others perceptions of her is. A blog which many found extremely offensive has now been taken down, as was requested, by the author. I want to THANK HER OPENLY, for paying attention to what people in this room were stating. I am unclear as to what her intentions are, as her comments have been hidden as well as the blog. I only hope she has thought things over and recognizes how offensive her words were in an already cruel and vile world.
I do not know this individual, or what SHE has endured in HER PAST that had caused her to be so insensitive. I know many of us felt, even behind the scenes, she needed to seek emotional help. I also feel after reviewing her profile, the possibility remains she may have just “thought” she was being humorous and didn’t quite know what to convey coming into a new station with new people and trying to “fit in.” I hope she has learned to “OBSERVE” a little more the environment surrounding her before speaking. Being the “new girl” is never easy, as all eyes are upon you! Time will tell if this was a valuable learning tool to help her succeed further in life in an upstanding and classy manner.
One thing I will state is; there was some merit to what I feel she was trying to convey… all be it should not have been portrayed in a mockingly manner in this forum. Many victims of sexual assault, esp victims perpetrated upon in younger years, DO have brain malfunctions leaving them with sick,  twisted, mind-bending relations to the beauty of what a sexual relationship is to be like between 2 individuals. I knew a girl in school who was raped at knife point with her boyfriend being held back watching who later dated her rapist. It can be an extremely UGLY world out there! I know, as I have my own “sexual issues” I deal with on a daily basis. I only pray LIV’s little friend escapes those demons. Somehow I think not though and this saddens me.
What I also know with all certainty is that every one of us has been placed on this Earth for a REASON. Each of us has a personal history which brings us to where we are at and NONE of us is exempt at making mistakes and having to correct them mid-stream. I sincerely hope this is the intent of this individual who has caused some level of pain for many. And further, I sincerely hope she recognizes if we portray ourselves in an unworthy manner, we will only receive positive attention from unworthy people. That kind of attention will NEVER bring forth a man worthy of her love.
Thank You,
~~Hope~~
