You know the USA doesn't care about the "Russian equivalent of the Patriot" since we have the UFO technology from the Roswell crash. To bad we don't have the element to power it, that came from their planet. Wahooo..ooo HaHa! As for the black hole, light travels at 186,000 miles per sec. and the gravitational field of a BH is so strong light can't escape, so if you sit on a black hole, your ass will stretching first and you'd look like a rubber band for a spit second warping time. Of course you'll be dead and not really care. HaHa! Just as a disclaimer, I'm not sure if this is true...I've never tried it. But I am sure of the UFO technology...Alien abduction is real...just ask the lady in hair curlers on the 6 o'clock news.
Quoting worldmind:
Dakota haha...ohwell...its a W hole other subject haha This is the russian things..maybe I would say a good guess...
This is the almost secret Russian equivalent of the Patriot anti-missile system. Sold to Syria is the last heard f it
hmmm not funny to the enemy I guess
Rich B. oh dear oh dear...Yeah I think once I heard if you sit on the ring of the opening of the black hole its like trvelling hundreds of hundreds years of time or something odd like that...yeah...well..I guess we need to travel there with eyes shut and a nice pillow under our head...ZZZZzzzzz ;-)

The Grand Canyon is a pretty large hole, so I figured it fit the theme.
Being a straight guy, I'm much more into holes also, but I will give you my opinion on your Russian pole photo. And this is just a guess. To me it looks to be part of a mobile rocket launcher. So those are rocket launch tubes. They would either be on a large truck with a hydraulic lift (for trajectory)or even a trailer hooked to a truck. The lateral rings are for containing the internal pressures of the rocket when launched. One end is capped with a round shape which contains internal pressure, while the top is open...a launch tube. Of course I could be wrong.
As for the black hole, my recommendation is; If you plan on visiting you'd better pack really heavy, since I have a feeling you are going to be there for a long time. Not even Richard Branson is that insane. And Richard, if you are reading this, I mean that in the kindest way. :) LOL
Quoting worldmind:
Oh sorry for late response...
HAHAHHA You are funny Dakota! :-)))
yeah Grand Canyon...but..is that into the holish-theme...?
Oh I will definately check the marble put very interesting indeed :-)
Im not qutting the holes yet but..can you tell what poles are these in the Russian Army Museum in Moscow?
Im really getting sucked into this storyline where there is no hole without a pole and suddenly were the Russians into this soup ;-)))

The Fort Worth Water Gardens in the middle of downtown Fort Worth, TX. It has always been a favorite location of mine. When my children were small I would take them there just to see them go down the steps to the bottom.
The Water Gardens were designed by New York architects Philip Johnson and John Burgee and built in 1974. This "hole" has inspired many to paint, take wedding photos, have picnics and the last time I was there a few months ago, I managed to take photos of a young couple as he spread some rose petals, pulled a ring and proposed on one knee. It was beautiful!
This venue was also used as the door to the outside world in the 1975 movie "Logan's Run".
I guess I too, have been fascinated by holes!!!

Dakota...who asked you for the Russian tshings oh i mean poles??? Its a hole blog..HOLE blog man! ;-))))
It's Russia, you know Russians are very secretive people...they ain't gonna show just anyone their hole, they might show it to you privately, but there ain't no photos of that hole despite it being the deepest in the world. They just show their pole only...they may be sexist of something.

If you want white, it's the finest white. I've seen Italian marble that's not white but very pretty. Like I said it's being ground for antacid now. But I'm sure there is a company that will cut it into slabs and polish it. All you have to do is Google Sylacauga (Marble City) Marble. You'll find info on it.
Quoting worldmind:
Dakota...interesting marble source indeed...so its considered up there with the italian stuff?

My favorite growing up back home was Las Pailas, in the east coast of Puerto Rico. It was actually two holes with rock formations that would serve us as slides. We would climb up to the top of the water slide and jump on to it. The soft rocks would cradle us as we slid down and plunged into the first pool and then we'd make our way to the second slide. I had not thought about it in years but seems that this location has become quite popular. If any of you is ever in "my island", check it out. It's just beautiful! Here is small paragraph of a write up I fould online: One of Puerto Rico's best hidden treasures: a twisting and turning natural waterslide called Las Paylas. Accessing this exhilarating chute requires a brief scramble atop some rocks, and then it's a fast-paced, 30-foot-long descent into an invigorating pool of chest-deep water. While many locals opt to go barefoot, shoes with traction are helpful for navigating the slippery surfaces. -Lulu-

Fishy..oh thanks a bunch for giving me the ever anticipated permission of being a man..nooot...HAHA...or you are maybe referring to any of your possibly selfexperienced experiments..i guess it can be pretty lonely out there...Hihi Zzzzz ;-)...its ok as you say..either way...now when Ive not even given it a thought..i know that I wouldnt want to be in any mans shoes as women (not all, not all the time) can be darn nasty sometimes so ill stick to being a nice lady to outbalance the nasty ones...Im sure the men out there in the world would not even dream of having it any other way regarding me..and definately me regarding me...but must say though that Ive experienced one woman admitting she fell in love with me and I already gave her the No never not me-answer back then...she was a co-student at one of my universities...but she also admitted having a crush on at least 4 others at the same university at the same time for different reasons...her crush on me was that she thought of me being unusually classy and feminine...she said "i know you are not into this but I couldnt help my attraction..just wanted you to know.." then she took another sip of her drink at our graduation party... she was really tall (around 180cm) and masculine but interesting enough she was working extra as a model at that time, I guess her androgeny gave her some breaks...anyways I do respect all peoples choices in life...and expect others to respect mine.
Oh thanks for the warning of the dam...would have missed that sign otherwise...and got swallowed by the hole...ohh...noooooo...;-))))
Yeah...on a more serious note...we are 5 friends starting to look at this adventure of the hole hunting...me and my odd ideas eyh haha..we have been on several adventures together before..one was looking for natives in the Sahara desert..OMG what an expierience that was..oh..dizzy or not...Ill tell ya...we have been to the Himalayas though, so our dizzymeter seems rather solid..this will be a piece of cake...we hope :-)
