I have begun celebrating my birthday via dinners and lunches with my friends. And since they have busy schedules...my celebration is spread everyday...this will probably last till the end of January or more!!!lol... There goes my weight!!! I will just have to shed it at the spa.
So, my dear fellow 'capricornians'... I wish all a 'HAPPY BIRTHDAY' AND MORE!!!!
Yesterday, I was on my way to an appointment two hours away from me. That previous day, it has rained heavily and that evening was extremely cold! Though the sky was already crystal clear, the temperature is still too cold and piercing to the bones!
Driving down the hill on this zig-zag road, I was the 4th car. We were only going 20 to 25 miles an hour. To my mind, I thought...I should call my appointment that I might be late...slightly! I would prefer to be there late than never! As the thought crosses my mind...
The 1st vehicle in front of me suddenly turned and rolled three times! I was in shocked! Dog carriers on the middle of the road...none of us could see the driver...she has been burried with her belongings including her cats in cages inside. All of us got on our cell phone...calling for help...
Scary that is!...no matter how careful we try...things just happens unexplainably!
Though, we all try to be extremely careful...'Be Safe Anyway' where ever your destination may be...
This is dedicated to the Humane Treatment of Animals Everywhere!
Treat me kindly, my beloved master, for no heart in all the world is more grateful for kindness than my loving heart.
Do not break my spirit with a stick, for I would lick your hand between blows, your patience and understanding will more quickly teach me the things you would have me do.
Speak to me often, for your voice is the world's sweetest music, as you must know by the fierce wagging of my tail when the sound of your footstep falls upon my ear.
When it is cold and wet, please take me inside for I am now a domesticated animal, no longer used to bitter elements. And I ask no greater glory than the privilege of sitting at your feet beside the hearth. If you had no home, I would prefer to follow you through ice and snow, rather than rest upon the softest pillow in the warmest home in all the land.
Keep my pan filled with fresh water, for although I should not reproach you were it dry, I can not tell you when I suffer thirst. Feed me fresh food, that I may stay well to romp and play and do your bidding, to walk by your side, and stand ready, willing and able to protect you with my life.
And master, when I am very old, if the Great master sees fit to deprive me of my health or sight, do not turn me away from you. Rather, hold my trusting body gently. I shall leave you knowing, with last breath I draw, my face was always safest in your hands.
On my way to the office today, I decided to stop at this newly opened 'Hair Cut' place and have myself a hair cut! Yes, she cut 7" off my hair. My hair is still below my shoulder blade...so, I consider it still long.
The conversation today enlightened me about my late precious dog...'Baltimore'
The year was 1996, in the fall. I was at the vet waiting for my other dog to be groomed.
While looking at the poster board, I noticed a picture of this sad, skinny, unkept looking mut...and the post says like this...'I have just been rescued by a nice lady next door that had just moved in. I have been neglected for almost five years tied to a pine tree. This nice lady took her three months to convinced my current master to let me go. However, this nice lady already have four dogs and 4 cats and continuously rescue all unwanted and abused animals. My temporay mommy will only let me go to a new home...if my new master will love me and care for me unconditionally'.
I don't know what came of me...but I found myself calling the lady and ended up with the dog.
According to the rescuer which she became my best friend...this poor dog would whine for hours trying to free itself under the fence. The owners totally neglect the dog and could go on for days unfed. He was also hit by a car and went untreated!
When Liza got the dog, it took six baths just to removed all the mud, debris and fleas feces that were imbedded in him. She had him nutured and had some shots.
I took him immediately to the vet when I got him. He had severe heartworm, severe ear infection, four back teeth have to be removed. I spent thousands of dollars on his first month...having been advise this dog has 50% chance of making it because of the heartworm treatment.
He survived! He blossomed! We bonded beyond words! I was informed that he will be on medication for the rest of his life. I accepted that. Several years down the road...the ear infection became untreatable that a surgery have to be done. He lost his hearing completely and in 2006, he finally left me for good! I was devastated and distraught!
The moral of the story is that, the woman that cut my hair told me where she lived and I told her about my adopted dog that came from her neck of the wood. She informed me she knew the people and knew how the dog was treated. She said she felt bad about the dog's condition. She said that they had no business having any type of dogs.
Than, the woman proceeded to tell me that the wife got hit by a car at the same spot the dog was hit years ago while my dog was in their possesion! This happened two weeks ago. She did not survived!
I felt bad...but a question came to mind as I was driving down the hill...'Was it faith for the dog to come 'Full Circle' to tell me the story of his previous existenced with the original owner and to let me know the faith of his original master in the end?'
I missed him. This dog showed me his unwavering love...undescrible!

So where do I begin...
Oh yes, it is about 'Thanksgiving'!
For 12yrs now, I have spent 'Thanksgiving' holiday alone with my pets. Though I am surrounded with great people and great friends that would love to have me over for dinner...though in the end...I would politely declined all the invitations one by one...
You see, I have two big dogs (used to be four), two cats (had them for about a year now), and one white snowy color rabbit.
Before the cats and the rabbit came to my life, I started a tradition that I will not travel anywhere but to stay at home with them during 'thanksgiving' holiday.
We all celebrate 'thanksgiving' by going full board on the trimmings. This year, I baked a 25lbs turkey, pumpkin pie, prepared fresh vegetables.
The dogs enjoyed the turkey and pumpkin pie, the cat enjoyed the turkey breasts, and the rabbit was very happy of her own smorgas board of vegetables and fruits!
I, on the other hand, had turkey, dressings, salad, a glass of wine (a bottle more like it), pumpkin pie, the smell of the burning wood on the fire place was pleasing, set on the couch and watch six sappy movies back to back!
With the exception of the rabbit, the cats and dogs all found their own very spot next to me and slept thru the night while I endulged myself with my sappy movies!
All in all, I called it 'Heaven'!
I am sure it would had been different if I have someone special to spend it with...however, I know he will come! I am no hurry!
I hope everyone had a fabulous thanksgiving like mine!
I was driving home late last night from having dinner on a windy road up the hill, when suddenly I noticed a newly born doe wobbling back and forth at the middle of the road.
Then I wondered where mama deer was and as I was worried about the safety of this cute little creature, I stopped my SUV with the blinkers on to warn upcoming vehicles coming home or leaving the mountains.
I proceeded to approach this tiny creature when all of a sudden it got down on its four legs and belly on the road. It looked at me straight in the eye. The only source of light we both shared was coming from the headlight of the SUV.
I carefully helped it to get up and oh my God, its hair felt like a velvet? so smooth to the touched! The night was quite and still. I thought of taking him home to rear till it was able to fend for itself in the wild when suddenly I hear a foot steps coming toward me.
I looked in front of me where the footsteps were coming from... was a four legged mama deer slowly approaching to where we were and stopped. I let go of the tiny creature? they both looked at me for a minute or two?then they slowly and quietly walked off into the redwoods.
I was left on the middle of the road in awed, exhilarated, and relieved!
I am wondering if there was a message to this?.

DADDY'S EMPTY CHAIR
A man's daughter had asked the local minister to come and pray with her father.
When the minister arrived, he found the man lying in bed with his head propped up on two pillows.
An empty chair sat beside his bed.
The minister assumed that the old fellow had been informed of his visit.
"I guess you were expecting me, he said.
'No, who are you?" said the father.
The minister told him his name and then remarked,"I saw the empty chair and I figured you knew I was going to show up."
"Oh yeah, the chair," said the bedridden man.
"Would you mind closing the door?"
Puzzled, the minister shut the door.
"I have never told anyone this, not even my daughter," said the man.
"But all of my life I have never
known how to pray. At church I used to hear the pastor talk about prayer, but it went right over my head."
I abandoned any attempt at prayer,"
the old man continued, "
until one day four years ago, my best friend said to me, "Johnny, prayer is just a simple matter of having a conversation with Jesus.
Here is what I suggest.
"Sit down in a chair; place an empty chair in front of you, and in faith see Jesus on the chair.
It's not spooky because he promised,
'I will be with you always'.
"Then just speak to him in the same way
you're doing with me right now."
"So, I tried it and I've liked it so much
that I do it a couple of hours every day.
I'm careful though. If my daughter saw me talking to an empty chair, she'd either have a nervous breakdown or send me off to the funny farm."
The minister was deeply moved by the story and encouraged the old man to continue on the journey. Then he prayed with him, anointed him with oil, and returned to the church.
Two nights later the daughter called to tell the minister that her daddy had died that afternoon.
Did he die in peace?" he asked.
Yes, when I left the house about two o'clock, he called me over to his bedside, told me he loved me and kissed me on the cheek. When I got back from the store an hour later, I found him .
But there was something strange about his death. Apparently, just before Daddy died, he leaned over and rested his head on the chair beside the bed. What do you make of that?"
The minister wiped a tear from his eye and said, "I wish we could all go like that."
Prayer is one of the best free gifts we receive.

The Lone Ranger and Tonto
The Lone Ranger and Tonto went camping in the desert.
After they got their tent all set up, both men fell sound asleep.
Some hours later, Tonto wakes the Lone Ranger and says, 'Kemo Sabe, look towards sky; what you see?'
The Lone Ranger replies, 'I see millions of stars.'
'What that tell you?' asked Tonto.
The Lone Ranger ponders for a minute then says, 'Astronomically speaking, it tells me there are millions of galaxies.
Time wise, it appears to be approximately a quarter past three in the morning.
Theologically, the Lord is all powerful and we are small and insignificant. Meteorologically, it seems we will have a beautiful day tomorrow.
What's it tell you, Tonto?'
'You dumber than buffalo shit. Someone stole tent.'
Just read each one carefully and think about it a second or two...
1.I love you not because of who you are, but because of who I am when I am with you.
2.No man or woman is worth your tears, and the one who is, won't make you cry.
3.Just because someone doesn?t love you the way you want them to, doesn't mean
they don't love you with all they have.
4.A true friend is someone who reaches for your hand and touches your heart.
5.The worst way to miss someone is to be sitting beside them knowing you can't have them.
6.Never frown, even when you are sad, because you never know who is falling in love with your smile.
7.To the world you may be one person, but to one person you may be the world.
8.Don't waste your time on a man/woman, who isn't willing to waste their time on you.
9.Maybe God wants us to meet a few wrong people before meeting the right one, so that when we finally meet the person, we will know how to be grateful.
10.Don't cry because it is over, smile because it happened.
11.There?s always going to be people that hurt you so what you have to do is keep on trusting and just be more careful about who you trust next time around.
12.Make yourself a better person an know who you are before you try and know someone else and expect them to know you.
13.Don't try so hard, the best things come when you least expect them to.
REMEMBER: WHATEVER HAPPENS, HAPPENS FOR A REASON
The Biker and the Lord...
A man riding his Harley was riding along a California beach when suddenly the sky clouded above his head and, in a booming voice, the Lord said, 'Because you have TRIED to be faithful to me in all ways, I will grant you one request.?
The biker pulled over and said, 'Build a bridge to Hawaii so I can ride over anytime I want.'
The Lord said, 'Your request is materialistic, think of the enormous challenges for that kind of undertaking; the supports required reaching the bottom of the Pacific and the concrete and steel it would take. It will nearly exhaust several natural resources. I can do it, but it is hard for me to justify your desire for worldly things. Take a little more time and think of something that could possibly help mankind.'
The biker thought about it for a long time. Finally, he said, 'Lord, I wish that I, and all men could understand women; I want to know how she feels inside, what she's thinking when she gives me the silent treatment, why she cries, what she means when she say nothing's wrong and how I can make a woman truly happy.'
The Lord replied, 'You want two lanes or four on that bridge'
I was walking around in a Target store, when I saw a Cashier hand this little boy some money back. The boy couldn't have been more than 5 or 6 years old. The Cashier said, 'I'm sorry, but you don't have enough money to buy this doll.'
Then the little boy turned to the old woman next to him:
''Granny, are you sure I don't have enough money?'' The old lady replied: ''You know that you don't have enough money to buy this doll, my dear.''
Then she asked him to stay there for just 5 minutes while she went to look around. She left quickly. The little boy was still holding the doll in his hand.
Finally, I walked toward him and I asked him who he wished to give this doll to. 'It's the doll that my sister loved most and wanted so much for Christmas. She was sure that Santa Claus would bring it to her.'
I replied to him that maybe Santa Claus would bring it to her after all, and not to worry. But he replied to me sadly.' No, Santa Claus can't bring it to her where she is now. I have to give the doll to my mommy so that she can give it to my sister when she goes there.'
His eyes were so sad while saying this. 'My Sister has gone to be with God. Daddy says that Mommy is going to see God very soon too, so I thought that she could take the doll with her to give it to my sister.''
My heart nearly stopped. The little boy looked up at me and said: 'I told daddy to tell mommy not to go yet. I need her to wait until I come back from the mall.'
Then he showed me a very nice photo of him where he was laughing. He then told me 'I want mommy to take my picture with her so she won't forget me.'
'I love my mommy and I wish she doesn't have to leave me, but
daddy says that she has to go to be with my little sister.' Then he looked again at the doll with sad eyes, very quietly.
I quickly reached for my wallet and said to the boy. 'Suppose we check again, just in case you do have enough money for the doll?'' 'OK' he said, 'I hope I do have enough.' I added some of my money to his without him seeing and we started to count it. There was enough for the doll and even some spare money.
The little boy said: 'Thank you God for giving me enough money!' Then he looked at me and added, 'I asked last night before I went to sleep for God to make sure I had enough money to buy this doll, so that mommy could give It to my sister. He heard me!'' 'I also wanted to have enough money to buy a white rose for my mommy, but I didn't dare to ask God for too much. But He gave me enough to buy the doll and a white rose.''
'My mommy loves white roses.' A few minutes later, the old lady returned and I left with my basket. I finished my shopping in a totally different state from when I started. I couldn't get the little boy out of my mind. Then I remembered a local newspaper article two days ago, which mentioned a drunk man in a truck, who hit a car occupied by a young woman and a little girl. The little girl died right away, and the mother was left in a critical state. The family had to decide whether to pull the plug on the life-sustaining machine, cause the young woman would not be able to recover from the coma.
Was this the family of the little boy? Two days after this encounter with the little boy, I read in the newspaper that the young woman had passed away. I couldn't stop myself as I bought a bunch of white roses and I went to the funeral home where the body of the young woman was exposed for people to see and make last wishes before her burial.
She was there, in her coffin, holding a beautiful white rose in her hand with the photo of the little boy and the doll placed over her chest. I left the place, teary-eyed, feeling that my life had been changed forever.... The love that the little boy had for his mother and his sister is still, to this day, hard to imagine.
And in a fraction of a second, a drunk driver had taken all this away from him.
