Why is it that so many members don't post photos with their profiles? Do they have something to hide, ie., married, extremely ugly or too famous? Are people honest or are they hiding something? Personally, I don't bother to look at profiles without pics because although we attempt not to be shallow, there has to be some kind of spark when one views someone's pic or we would not be human. I have tried it before, chatted to someone on the net for a year, went to the USA to meet him even though his photo caused no spark, I thought that he had enough Charisma in real life to alter my opinion, not all the charisma in the world could change his looks when I met him! So now, I only view profiles with pics and there has to be a genuine spark or it is just a waste of time. My other question is: just how many photos are "real" not fake (downloaded from other sites), are people honest in who they say they are or are there a lot of con-artists out there just looking for naiive people to use and abuse? Sadly it does make people wary, so for the honest people out there, give us the benefit of the doubt, you may be surprised. Honesty is the best policy, whether it sounds naiive or not, there is nothing more hurtful than skeletons falling out of the closet at a later stage. May you all find your soulmates, be well and happy!

As far as the pics downloaded from other sites, yes, unfortunately that's quite common. There's a thread on it in the forums called "Stuck in Africa Scam." Usually they'll rip off a picture of a model from the Focus Hawaii Modeling and Talent Agency, but have also been known to rip off regular people's pictures from dating sites. At some point, they'll say they're stuck in (almost always) Nigeria, but that no one can cash their paycheck, and they hit you up for money. Sometimes they'll send a check, tell you to keep X amount for your trouble, and wire the rest of it to them. It'll come back bad, and you'll owe your bank whatever amount you sent that person.
