FACT? There have been 5 people post on this blog. (including author)

If one more new person post... Chances are 2 of the 6 individuals will harbour "INACTIVE TB".... (according to the MAYO CLINIC)

Now before anyone panics......  TB is actually, according to MAYO, NOT easy to get.    ;)

MAYO REFERENCE TO ACNE AND BEARDS?

STAPHYLLICOCCOCAL FOLLICULITIS--

Medical terminology?

ITIS = INFLAMMATION

Inflammation of the "folli"... (FOLICULE where hair enters the pore.)

Reality for acne I read?

One gets ingrown hairs and acne when THEY SHAVE.. If one never shaves, they never get ingrown hairs, and acne doesn't occur where hair is prominent.

That was the reference to ACNE and FACIAL HAIR

"BARBERS ITCH!"

RMAC----

I see there is some HEAVY MISINFORMATION being spread regarding beards and what the MAYO CLINIC has stated... Therefore, I am anointing myself as your "official researcher" for beards...

For my research-- I have reviewed the items as mentioned on another thread regarding the MAYO CLINIC. (I will supply pictures of my findings.) I would say when one is doing research, one needs to delve deep into their work and not just take the first post of the findings. The FIRST POST when you go on MAYO and search BACTERIA IN FACIAL HAIR.. Yes, it shows 9 findings.. You have to READ the findings to see what it says!

So before all you "beard lovers" go all crazy running for the toilet when you see "irritable bowel syndrome" etc... DON'T PANIC! LOL...

I have found NOTHING mentioned under "tuberculosis" ON THE MAYO site regarding beards, facial hair, etc... Doesn't mean there may not be "some sources" which state harmful bacteria can be found in beards, etc.. OF COURSE THERE CAN BE!! BUT... we also need to bear in mind, WE HAVE HARMFUL BACTERIA THAT COVERS OUR ENTIRE BODY EVER SECOND OF EVERY DAY ON EVERY INCH OF OUR BODY...

I believe I already covered if one is on a respirator, uses facial stuff for employemtn, etc.. WHICH, TO MY UNDERSTANDING, IS PRECISELY WHY THEY DO NOT ALLOW BEARDS IN MILITARY. Military personel is not allowed to have facial hair interfere with the functioning of the gear they may have to wear. (gas masks, etc)  Additionally, there is a "grooming standard" to keep things simplified, such as the "original shaving of the head." Has NOTHING to do with bacteria, etc.. The military expects ones to conduct themselves in a certain manner as well as "look the part." Many fields have their areas of "how" one should dress, or make themselves appear. You don't see many Realtors out there dressing shabbily to show homes, regardless of the value of the home.

Now know this.. I, your Princess, refused a job before in the medical field. WHY? B/C they were going to make me get rid of....

**Rolls eyes.. NO--- not my beard sillies! My ACRYLIC NAILS!!

Well, what Princess have you ever seen without pretty nails!!! In many areas of medicine, they worry about "extra bacteria" that can be found underneath and in between the nails, esp. FAKE nails. In many areas, they even make women (and men) keep their REAL nails, short... AND UNPOLISHED!!! IT'S A PRINCESS NIGHTMARE I TELL YA!  ;)

Now for PART II of my um......  "research".. I am throwing myself "under the bus" and I am going to kiss as many men with "nice beards" as I can.. and

We'll see if I get sick!!! I'M A GENIUS I TELL YA!!

And, not to worry guys.. I am a very resilient (and resourceful) little Princess.. ;))))))

NOW JEN--- I AM STILL HAVING NIGHTMARES MYSELF... THANK YOU VERY MUCH! That photo was the prime example of HOW NOT TO WEAR A BEARD! And ICK! I concur!! Those handlebar and the braided beards, etc.. BARF!!

But-- Darlin... Let me show you one man..... bald, bearded, clothed, naked, honey.. IT DON'T MATTA!

My Hollywood Hot Shot that gets me all fired up.... each and every time I see him...

**Drooling now.. It's so crazy, because I typically go for blue eyes.. But this is MY BAD BOY.. even with the scruff!!

OH COLIN! OH COLIN!! The Princess is runnng a "test!" I NEED A KISS SCRUFFY MAN!

Bwahahaha!! ;)

Whew--- I think I hear a cold shower a "COLIN" me!! Heehee~~

Boy, have I missed a big something.  I don't recall seeing anything about beards on here.  Nevertheless, allow me to weigh in:

I like well-groomed beards and mustaches.  But I HATE scraggily beards and mustaches that look as though a family of voles could be living in them unseen by the naked eye.  LOL

Lol,as Hoping stated, that pic I posted was disgusting and I am not sure if I will EVER get it out of my head. Regardless of what creepy crawlies may or may not be found in facial hair, i am just not wanting to kiss a mustache again. If you do decide to kiss for a decent length of time, Whisker Burn may occur and that is bad enough.

Even though I don't find thin lips appealing or some of the other stuff whiskers can hide, I still prefer clean shaven. Your conclusion, RRMac, even if it's true does not change my mind. Twenty year old mustaches where something LOOKS like it could have crawled in there & died is bad enough!!  Those beards that men make little ponytails or braids out of,.. equally gross. The Hitler mustache, the ridiculously faux thin mustaches, the YMCA Cop mustache, food remains in any whiskers, beards that take over the face and grow over most of their cheeks, etc.,etc, all bad.

I am now completely turned off, once again ;/

AMEN RMAC!! I saw what you and CG both posted!! I am surprised your comments remain on the blog actually, as one woman posted how it was basically being blown out of proportion. I politely AGREED with her stating several things, and BOTH our comments were deleted. I felt badly for this newcomer and wrote her apologizing, hoping her first comment she ever made being deleted would not ward her off the blogs! Then a man with a "short beard" posted, and his post was removed. Everyone was very polite and respectful, so I am bewildered here. I thought blogging was for discussions and "listening" to other people's thoughts? What do I know.. I'm just a wanna- be Princess! ;)

Some of what I recall posting...

1) My children have eaten dirt, potting soil, cat food from the cat bowl on the floor.... and God knows what I never witnessed!! Yet they are still living and breathing munchkins! (Just wayyy bigger than munchkins now!)

2) Broccoli is said to be filled with worms we never see, as well as everything that touches our lips has "stuff" in it... but I still eat it! IT'S ALIVE! IT'S ALIVE!!

3) Scientist say we are about 90% "microbes" or "bacteria".. In fact, they say without this "bacteria", we would not be living.. BACTERIA KEEPS US ALIVE!

4) We are instructed it is best NOT to use too much anti-bacterial soap all the time. WHY? Because we KILL the "good bacteria" and then cannot fight off the "bad stuff!"

4) Beards are said to help men (and women..... HA!) in preventing facial cancer.

5) I reviewed the CDC sight and all I found in regard to beards? If you wear a respirator or work in the field of needing that type of gear, (firefighter comes to mind) .. You are not allowed to have facial hair, as it affects the effectiveness of the gear. I read NOTHING about women being hospitalized from sucking on bugs! ICK! BUT, that one photo JEN posted WAS disgusting!

Well, that is what I recall off my little blonde brain for now!! ;)

I'm glad you shed some light on the "parody"...

I personally do not care for "kissing" men with beards or facial hair...

HOWEVER, one of the best lovers I ever had wore a short beard... and I recall him like it was just yesterday... HEY! Maybe it was yesterday!! Bwahahahahaaha!!

Have a great week RMAC!! And if you sport a beard... Just grab some lighter fluid and soak it up, grab a lighter and fire away! Surely that will "purify" your "cooties!!"   ;)

RMac, that's good to know. I like facial hair on a man as long as it's well maintained.
