      1. Interacting with women makes men dumb: Researchers at Radboud University of Nijmegen in The Netherlands, determined that men tended to have difficulty performing cognitive tasks after socializing with women.
      2. Beautiful women can be hazardous to a man's health: Researchers at the University of Valencia in Spain found that attractive female raises stress hormones of men to dangerously high levels.  Some men were so stressed out, their cortisol hormone levels reached that of a person diving out of a plane.
      3. Women thrive on romantic uncertainty: Researchers from Virginia University and Harvard found that women were more drawn to the profiles of men who showed little interest in them.
      4. Married women are more likely to get bored than single women: A psychologist at Stony Brook University studying couples in long-term relationships found that boredom sets in after seven years of wedded bliss.
      5. Beautiful women are happier with less attractive men:  A study published in the Journal of Family Psychology found that women who marry less attractive men tend to be happier in their marriages. The not-at-all stereotypical thinking behind the study is that men place more value on physical appearance while women prefer a stable, supportive spouse.

Quoting RealtorLulu:

I agree with #1 - In 2008, when the Dallas Cowboys lost to the NYG during the playoffs 21-17, Jessica Simpson, who was dating Tony Romo, was the reason (according to some of team members). Tony just couldn't concentrate on anything other than her.

Regarding #2 - I met a guy when I was living in Miami who invited me to dinner. We met at a restaurant in Miami Beach and were served some wine. We were standing at the railing by the water and after about 20 minutes of chatting he took my hand and I could feel his hand shake with every heartbeat. He then started to look flushed and that was my cue to step away from the possible heart attack. As Diana said, that was many years ago and there's little chance I could inspire a heart attack now.

Lulu,

I remember when that happened.  I felt sorry for Jessica.  It wasn't her fault that Tony was a dork.  I cute dork...but nevertheless.   lololol...I thought they made the perfect couple!

#3  Simply does not work.  I have been showing little interest in almost all the women on MM.  I should be overrun with enthusiastic women.

Alas, it is not so.

#1   Men usually don’t like to multi task.   Of course there are exceptions.   Plus, some of those that seem to be good at it actually are doing serial single tasking in short bursts first one then another.  A friend who had a hyperactive syndrome turned his handicap into a virtue with his ability to do several things at once.   He explained to me that he simply could not concentrate on anything for very long , but he could switch from task to task with no problem.

Anyhow, it is hard to quit thinking about a lovely lady.  It is not that you are dumber, or less capable, just what you are just then using your brain for.

Yep, I'm going to use number 5 study.  Only difficult part is, how will I find a more attractive woman. LOL  I can say that since I don't have a photo up.  Everyone here believes me, right?...Right???...RIGHT???

Orlando, women are also more attracted to men that are already taken.  When I had a GF I'd have women hit on me all the time.  And I've heard other guys say the same.  The better looking the girl, that you are with, the more you'll get hit on.  I think it's some kind of competition challenge thing.  So, we should both go out and find some hot women that are willing to let us say they are our GF, then we'll get a lot more dates. :-)

Dakota,

In the book I mentioned reading in my MM Reading Blog on May 1st, it mentions that studies have found people who prefer men or women who are engaged in a commited relationship with someone else are usually people with serious commitment issues. For example... It's a common fact that married men rarely leave their wives to go on to marry their mistress. And visa versa. So in a way, it's safe for these commitment phobes, because they don't have to ever worry about anything becoming permanent............. BeWell

BeWell and wishing you only the best ! ..................;-D

Hi Dakota, works the other way too.  Back in the dim distant past when I was at university and this was easy to do, I liked to find attractive coeds that were being ignored, not dated, etc.  Sometimes these girls had a “problem,” but usually not.  So, I would start dating them.  Did not take long and I had lots of competition.  I think it had something to do with how the girl perceived herself.  Her confidence, sense of her own attractiveness, how she carried herself, on and on.

Probably works that way on men too.  So in that sense borrowing a beautiful “decoy” might not work.

O~

Re: #2 again.  Another first date:  I met this guy in Ft Worth at a Cutting Horse show.  He had a horse in the show and invited me to come over there to meet and watch his horse.  So I did and was pleasantly surprised to meet a very handsome, tall, well dressed man.  He should not have been intimidated at all by me!  Everything was going really great, when about an hour into the meeting he said he wasn't feeling well and felt like he needed a doctor.  We went to the 1st Aid Station and found that his BP was 220/120 and pulse 109.  He called his doctor and was told to get to an ER, so I drove him there.  Well it was a Saturday and as you can imagine it was busy.  We spent 5 hrs in the ER before he was released.  lolol....omg.

Of course....that was a number of years ago.  I doubt I could still inspire a trip to the ER....but....perhaps lesser events!  lolol  *wink*
