Is there a new trend going on with the younger generation ?

I was talking to my niece, and asked her if she had a New boyfriend yet, she said, well kind of Uncle Ray, it's complicated and you won't understand. I said, sure I will whats going on. She said, well I don't have a new boyfriend but I'm in a relationship with Becka's  (her best friend) fiance. I said what ! She said yes, we all live together and are in a relationship. Then about 4 days later, I was in a Bar in Manhattan Beach California (which I love by the way) I was watching the Michigan State, Ohio State game. A bunch of younger people came in and were standing there shooting the bull. Well one of the young guys came up to me and started talking, he was really nice, then I said to him, is that your girlfriend, he said, oh sorry man for not introducing her, he said the is my girlfriend Sarah, and this beautiful blonde is our companion Kate. I said, (being old as I'm,,LOL) are you saying what I think your saying, he said, Yes, it's awesome and the 3 of us get along great, it's the best !

So I ask, since I never heard of such a thing, and then twice in one week,, is this a New Trend ? or have I just been in the dark ? ( you don't have to answer the last part)  LOL

This generation just doesnt want to commit and work together on issues. It's sad!

Ha ha. Welcome to the Digital Age!  It seems the millennials only commit to their digital devices... nothing like a Smarta$$ phone.  I recently read that their attention span has declined to about 8 seconds which is down from 12 seconds in 2000.

What's most alarming is that the attention span of a goldfish is 9 seconds.

Well Roc....it's hard to be as delightful a 'cut-up' as you are!  Never the less, I'm hardly on "every blog" but I will endeavor to reduce the number of drive bys in the future.  NOT!!!!  lolololo....*wink*.

Have at it.... you'd probably have to lose close to 50 IQ points to reach the depths of boring the old blogs became.... pointless, humorless and thoughtless.  I doubt you're up for that.

Yup, it's been a while,,, 3 or 4 years. I was curious to see if some of the old bloggers were still around and they are but very inactive.  The blogs were quite animated back then, and with all due respects to Brittany, when MM decide to assign a hall monitor they became a bit boring.

My view of opinions is that there is no right or wrong but if you and Diana delight in doing drive bys on each an every blog, have at it.  That was another reason the blogs started their descent.  There were a few people who felt compelled to make a comment on every comment on every bog and to make matters worse, their comments were humorless, pointless and thoughtless.

I feel that as long as big money is involved, politicians will continue to have two goals... get rich and get re-elected.  Soros is just one a many evils and these Leaderships Pacs have become petty cash for our pols to do with as they please..

My lesser of two evils was the guy who wasn't in it for the money, and had some leadership and organizational skills.

How can one define either in such a small description?  You can see right away that the definitions are flawed. Liberal: "freely giving money, time or other asset" yet this is excluded for the conservative def., just that one line proves my point.  I know liberals that wouldn't give a dime, I know conservatives that would give you the shirt off their back.  I know the Young Republicans go out and work on Habitat homes despite that being a liberal and race bias organization (not saying they don't do good).  The YR also go to local homeless shelters and feed the poor.  And I am not saying liberals don't do the same, I'm just saying that your def. are not totally correct and screams of spin and bias.  Or perhaps these definitions are what made you choose to be liberal...if so, find a new source for definitions.

Lolo....of course it "screams of spin and bias".  I picked out stuff that made my point.  Obviously there are always variables.  But go online and see what you come up with.  I was putting out a working definition so we all generally know what we're talking about.  Hah-ha!  (That was a joke).  :))

Apparently you haven't been around these blogs in awhile.  Diana and I go at each other all the time in friendly debate.  Just trying to teach her right from wrong. :) You are correct, "we are neither friends nor enemies"  I keep course on my beliefs.  I voted for the lessor to two evils...does that answer your question? I voted against George Soros, the man that has cause suffering of the common people around the world, with his greedy financial schemes.

@Dak... "My friend, with all due respect, my credibility is secure on these blogs and in real life."

"My friend"... now that's a stretch.  We don't know one another.  We are neither friends nor enemies.  We just disagree on the cause, morality and ethics regarding polyamory.

@Dak,@Diana...

.I think I can clear this up and get back on point regarding this blog subject.

I'm not certain, but assuming you both voted in the last Presidential election, did you vote for the....
Free thinking, conservative, Democratic Candidate... or
the free thinking, liberal, Republican candidate.?

I'm so sorry my dear... it was my mistake.  I should have asked you how you came to your conclusion that one of the women was lesbian and the other bisexual.  In addition, I should have inquired about how you acquired your insight regarding dreams that old men dream about.

I hope my tirade didn't cause you undue physical or emotional duress.  You seem to be a sweet young single woman who is just plain gorgeous.  I doubt you'll be single for long.

Thanks for straightening me out.

Your definitions are flawed.  Of course they would be.  Liberals are not evolving, they are simple revisiting a history of human error.

And just so you know, I'm not liberal or conservative.  To call me either would be a insult.  Just call me a free-thinker.

Quoting Dak:  Diana, you are full of it...Despite your liberal beliefs, I don't believe for a moment that you would share a man with another woman.  If I'm wrong, then I don't want to know.  Admit that you are secretly looking for a conservative guy that will just put up with your liberal views. *wink* :))

*********************************************

Well…..I guess the first thing we have to understand is what the definitions of conservative vs liberal are.  I’ll spare you the entire cut and pastes, but these are some of the words you will find in online dictionaries to define the difference:

Conservative – adjective - Disposed to preserve existing conditions, institutions, etc., or to limit change.  Traditional in style or manner: avoiding novelty or showiness; Old-school; Unprogressive.

Liberal – adjective - Broad-minded: tolerant of different views and standards of behavior; Generous: freely giving money, time or some other asset; Unconventional; Progressive: not opposed to new ideas, not strict or exact.

Hmmm…while I understand that you were being totally glib in suggesting that I might want a conservative man…..after examining the difference in the two types…..you can see that it’s not possible.  I definitely want a man that gives generously……whether it’s his time, energy, heart, mind….but especially that ‘some other asset’ part.    *wink*   :)))

If you say so, but claiming a causal/source relationship between polyamory and liberalism is quite a stretch and diminishes your credibility.

The same can be said about hatred and anger.  They serve no useful purpose and remind me of a Buddhist saying that likens it to drinking poison and hoping the other person dies.
