Is there a new trend going on with the younger generation ?

I was talking to my niece, and asked her if she had a New boyfriend yet, she said, well kind of Uncle Ray, it's complicated and you won't understand. I said, sure I will whats going on. She said, well I don't have a new boyfriend but I'm in a relationship with Becka's  (her best friend) fiance. I said what ! She said yes, we all live together and are in a relationship. Then about 4 days later, I was in a Bar in Manhattan Beach California (which I love by the way) I was watching the Michigan State, Ohio State game. A bunch of younger people came in and were standing there shooting the bull. Well one of the young guys came up to me and started talking, he was really nice, then I said to him, is that your girlfriend, he said, oh sorry man for not introducing her, he said the is my girlfriend Sarah, and this beautiful blonde is our companion Kate. I said, (being old as I'm,,LOL) are you saying what I think your saying, he said, Yes, it's awesome and the 3 of us get along great, it's the best !

So I ask, since I never heard of such a thing, and then twice in one week,, is this a New Trend ? or have I just been in the dark ? ( you don't have to answer the last part)  LOL

Yup, it's been a while,,, 3 or 4 years. I was curious to see if some of the old bloggers were still around and they are but very inactive.  The blogs were quite animated back then, and with all due respects to Brittany, when MM decide to assign a hall monitor they became a bit boring.

My view of opinions is that there is no right or wrong but if you and Diana delight in doing drive bys on each an every blog, have at it.  That was another reason the blogs started their descent.  There were a few people who felt compelled to make a comment on every comment on every bog and to make matters worse, their comments were humorless, pointless and thoughtless.

I feel that as long as big money is involved, politicians will continue to have two goals... get rich and get re-elected.  Soros is just one a many evils and these Leaderships Pacs have become petty cash for our pols to do with as they please..

My lesser of two evils was the guy who wasn't in it for the money, and had some leadership and organizational skills.

Well Roc....it's hard to be as delightful a 'cut-up' as you are!  Never the less, I'm hardly on "every blog" but I will endeavor to reduce the number of drive bys in the future.  NOT!!!!  lolololo....*wink*.

How can one define either in such a small description?  You can see right away that the definitions are flawed. Liberal: "freely giving money, time or other asset" yet this is excluded for the conservative def., just that one line proves my point.  I know liberals that wouldn't give a dime, I know conservatives that would give you the shirt off their back.  I know the Young Republicans go out and work on Habitat homes despite that being a liberal and race bias organization (not saying they don't do good).  The YR also go to local homeless shelters and feed the poor.  And I am not saying liberals don't do the same, I'm just saying that your def. are not totally correct and screams of spin and bias.  Or perhaps these definitions are what made you choose to be liberal...if so, find a new source for definitions.

Lolo....of course it "screams of spin and bias".  I picked out stuff that made my point.  Obviously there are always variables.  But go online and see what you come up with.  I was putting out a working definition so we all generally know what we're talking about.  Hah-ha!  (That was a joke).  :))

Your definitions are flawed.  Of course they would be.  Liberals are not evolving, they are simple revisiting a history of human error.

And just so you know, I'm not liberal or conservative.  To call me either would be a insult.  Just call me a free-thinker.

My definitions are flawed????  I took them from Websters.

Quoting Dak:  Diana, you are full of it...Despite your liberal beliefs, I don't believe for a moment that you would share a man with another woman.  If I'm wrong, then I don't want to know.  Admit that you are secretly looking for a conservative guy that will just put up with your liberal views. *wink* :))

*********************************************

Well…..I guess the first thing we have to understand is what the definitions of conservative vs liberal are.  I’ll spare you the entire cut and pastes, but these are some of the words you will find in online dictionaries to define the difference:

Conservative – adjective - Disposed to preserve existing conditions, institutions, etc., or to limit change.  Traditional in style or manner: avoiding novelty or showiness; Old-school; Unprogressive.

Liberal – adjective - Broad-minded: tolerant of different views and standards of behavior; Generous: freely giving money, time or some other asset; Unconventional; Progressive: not opposed to new ideas, not strict or exact.

Hmmm…while I understand that you were being totally glib in suggesting that I might want a conservative man…..after examining the difference in the two types…..you can see that it’s not possible.  I definitely want a man that gives generously……whether it’s his time, energy, heart, mind….but especially that ‘some other asset’ part.    *wink*   :)))

This is where the country is headed due to liberalism.  How can it be healthy for a woman to share a man and bed with another woman.  Diana, if you think it's okay, then maybe that would be a option for you?

Really?  Where do you think the country is headed Dak?  I thought you were a big believer in individual rights and the Constitution?  Doesn't it say something in there about the pursuit of happiness?  Is their lifestyle choice really affecting you.... and/or how many people you choose to share your bed with?

PS:  Thanks for the words of advice.  I'll give it some thought!  *wink* :))

I think it amounts to youthful exploration and experimentation.  Young people today are way more open minded and tolerant of different human behaviors or ideas than the older generation is.  Sometimes they think they invented these ideas, but don't know what they don't know.

When my son was in high school he didn't date any one girl much, but just rather hung out/went out in groups....boys and girls.  Me??  I went 'steady' with just one guy.  Who knows....maybe more relationship experience will make the next generation better decision makers then we were, when it comes to marriage and raising a family.

One thing is for sure....jealousy is a malevolent and useless emotion.

Hi Ray,

Good to see some of the oldtime Bloggers still around.  Polyamory has been around for some time.  I think there's even a cable show that highlights polyamorous relationships.

(formerly irocas)

Good God.  Irocas!  Well, I can't say whether I'm happy to see you on here or not.  You gave me one hell of a lot of trouble before the last time you were kicked off.  Hopefully, this time, now that you're out of Pennsylvania [and somewhere down south where the weather is warmer] you won't feel the need to pounce on me with insults.

Whatever, so far it's nice to see you.  When you weren't insulting the heck out of one or another of us, you were always an intelligent and interesting addition to the blogs.  So far.....so far indeed....glad to see you back.  Whether or not I'll cointinue to feel that way remains to be seen.  N'est pas???

Just some F'ed up people without morals.  Sorry but that's just how I feel.  I'm sure that kind of thing has been going on for a long time, but it doesn't make it right.  Another sign of the times.

Actually there a 2 women on this site, that are together, that are looking for a guy.  That's either heaven, hell, or a little of both.  I have a difficult enough time when I have one woman in my life, I can't imagine them ganging up against me.  Talk about never winning a argument and constant dehydration.

Poor baby.  I hope you never wind up in the situation you're describing.

F'ed up people without morals indeed!!!

To 3345 Roc:  Like Sarah said, there's some big self-esteem issues going on here.  And the issues are with the women who would put up with this crap.

All I can say, Ray, is this is screwed up indeed.  New Age or any other newism?  It's screwed up to the max.  If this is what the younger generation thinks is cool, then I think the younger generation needs to be "fixed" in a big way.  Yikes Almighty.  This sucks big time.

Lol where I come from that's messed up! Lol I really can't see how people like that are truly happy. If it was two guys and a girl. Would the guy put up with that? I wonder... I think there is a big issue with girls having low self esteem.

One of the places I worked, several women, recent college grads, and one young man all lived together.  Claimed it was all just a place to live for all of them.

Never was sure how much of that I believed.

First long lonely weekend with only one she and he there?

Both just happening not to have dates?
