What do you think about women showing affection in public with another woman? Do you think it gives wrong signals that they may be lesbians?
According to my expreriences, a friend who liked to be lovey dovey with me in public created a wrong impression that we may be a couple and was a turn-off for men.

Welcome to the world of global blogs.  Interesting name...is it an Egyptian or Greek Godess ?

I have noticed that many ladies who have viewed your topic thus-far, remain quiet.  I wonder Why.

Thank you. Nefratiti is an Egyptian name. The name sounds like Nefertiti the queen of Egypt.

Well let me just say, that your exotic good looks make you a show stopper at any venue.  If I saw you having fun with a gf, I doubt that I would be able to take my eyes off of you!  This is meant strictly in the most complimentary way....coming from a woman that only likes to play with men.  *wink*  :)

That being said....I don't think too many men would look at you and think....Lesbian.  Most know that it's mostly all about the show and the attention gained! Just have fun. Girls like to have fun...and show off sometimes.     *wink*

Nefratiti,

You asked if a woman showing affection towards another woman in public gives the wrong signals that they may be lesbians.  And you said your friend acted 'lovey dovey,'  creating the impression the two of you were a couple, and turned off men.

When we answer, SOME assumptions have to be made.  Unless one of you has the other one bent over and applying a BOB in a vigorous manner.   Those activities, I think we all understand.    Activities short of that require context.  And you are asking what others (men) ASSUME when they see close interaction between two women.

I'll stand by my earlier statement.  Usually it is fairly clear.  But if you feel it is possible you are giving the wrong signals, then DUH, it is possible some guys will interpret it wrong.  All of which  are assumtions.
;):):)

!Nefratitti~...In europe and elsewhere but rarely in the US , many women walk arm in arm with other women friends and men do the same.
It's rare to see a man do a double tap on the cheeks here in the US but elsewhere, it's perfectly normal.
Here in the US...the perception of what men and women perceive to be a weakness is always avoided and branded, gay or lesbian, or weak or against God or against society...Although America is a great country...it's loaded with some real redneck ignorant overly christian boneheads.

You got that right!!!

I think most guys can tell the difference between friends and romantic attraction.   However, if YOU feel your friend was being 'lovey-dovey'  and appeared to be OK with it, I think it is likely a man watching the same interaction would assume you two ladies are lovers.
