Working out is the best and most difficult thing somoeone can do.

These two facts go hand in hand together, as the most difficult things lead to the best rewards.

Your health is very important, more important than money.  When you are healthy and fit, they body will heal itself, and it can do a better job than almost anything else.  Not only does working out make you healthy, you will feel great and when you feel great, you will feel more confident and then making love, having sex, and just normal activities will be better overall.

I write this because the gym saves lives and it saved mine on more than one occasion.  Also an added benefit is you are surrounded by beautiful people, and most people know the benefit of that.

Here's a short gym story. I see this bodybuilder guy with an assistance dog working out. I have never seen a dog like that in the gym before. It's a sweet, miniature poodle that I make fast friends with. I love all animals unless they're mean and will eat our pets like our local coyotes. Anyway...come to find out, this guy has such a low, body fat percentage (like 6% or less) that when he works out, he might faint so the dog can sense if he is about to faint and will alert him and if possible, lay on him. This guy was massive by the way, all muscle.

Dogs that help medical conditions are like a miracle, let alone just our average dogs that give us unconditional love. What I find odd is that this bodybuilder's medical condition could possibly be helped if he only added more fat to his system?  I didn't want to be too nosy so I didn't ask the guy about his entire lifestyle, he may very well have been a bodybuilder for his sole income, who knows?

That is a interesting story.  Jen, there's a very ugly side to Bodybuilding.  The things that BB put in their bodies is unbelievable.  His system was probably way out of whack due to sugar imbalance, not low body fat.  The body fat thing was just BS in my opinion because virtually everyone that is on roids will deny it.  Of course I could be wrong, but I don't think so.

Thats too much, buts its a great sport, and they do work very hard at what they do.  Also in all fairness, that is them during the show, and in the offseason, they are still feminine sexy :)

I personally am more attracted to the fitness sports girls, which is an entirely different look.

Jenk - Those babes in the gym that you speak of are not there to work out.....they are there to advertise their products and services, LOL! What are your thoughts on the real ladies that take the time and effort to work out so much that they bulk up and look like bodybuilders? Those ones scare the hell outta me!

As much as I appreciate muscles, I don't like bulky ones on females. I have to say my arms are getting a little muscular and yet they still have the dang ability to flap, as much as I should keep that info to myself,... at least I am working on it.  I have triceps now!  More reps, less weight seems to be the key.

You know what I don't like, it's the extremely hard look that their faces can get, especially as they are getting older, if they gained 10 pounds, their faces would feel out and they would look much better.  This happens to both sexes, unfortunitely the bodybuilder types don't want to gain any weight.

Okay, I edited and added this photo. I'm sorry but I really find this look undesirable on both men and women. What is my least favorite other than possibly the no fat look in their faces, is their legs..ewww. This lady has some of the worse thighs I've seen. I searched for photos tonight, this is definitely too extreme in my opinion.

I absolutely agree with Jen.  Most guys don't find women attractive that are so masculine looking.  There's probably a huge amount to say about these women and why they look the way they look.  But I'll leave that be and just say, they work very hard to look that way.  So I'll give them credit for hard work.  And I find that look more attractive than the extreme opposite of 400lbs.  And the dark tan is to accent their muscles and at the time of comp. they have worked out to increase blood in the muscles.  So in everyday life, they don't walk around looking like that.  Plus, during a comp. they are dehydrated and at their weakest point...all in the name of competition.  Still, I do find it unattractive.

Heading out to take my dog for a walk, then I'm going to hit the gym. Jen, you are correct with your tri exercises.  Keep the weight low and do the reps, otherwise you will cause the muscles to hypertrophy, which is not cool for a lady.

Pilates and yoga is excellent too.  Swimming is really great for the abs, and also lots of fun!!

It all depends on his or her personality and where you are.  I heard California is full of gym going people!  Canada is also very health and fitness conscious.  I love the gym, it is one of the best places ever.

Nav,

Welcome to the blog!

Now, I dare you to challenge me to go to the gym! I love the gym and to work out, yet I once took out gym membership that cost about £100 monthly yet I only went there 5 times in 4 years! Not impressive! Well, I keep fit in other ways and as I am told I don't look too bad. Suffice to say, that membership was eventually cancelled. I now have another membership which cost approximately the same, but which is a lot more fun because I am actually doing what I want to do - swimming - so it's lovely and I don't need to be pushed or bribed into doing it. I also do Pilates and that is so much fun!

California may be full of "gym going people" but it is also full of completely shallow people with little to no substance whatsoever and virtually no social skills.  There is a crude saying that I don't really like to repeat but to give the readers the exact quote,it's "Don't shite where you eat". It means that men are not suppose to talk, etc. with women at the gym or from their gym and I do find that to be mostly true at the gyms I go to.   I think it's sad how little anyone communicates at the gym.  I refuse to stick to the rules however and have made some acquaintances there. Hopefully for your sake, it is a nicer gym that you go to.

Btw, thanks for the comment you sent me :)

Ha!!  Quote:" ..you are surrounded by beautiful people"  Really? I must be going to 'the-not beautiful by a longshot people', gym, lol. Kidding.. but yeah, it's kinda true. I actually prefer not to do myself up before the gym unlike some females who appear to have done their make-up right before the gym, these are also the same ones who wear pink latex with matching running shoes. They may wear words across their asses also that may as well say "Look at my ass".  "I expect you to look at my ass and if you don't look at my ass I am offended" type girls. Uggh :/

I dare anyone to remotely be interested in me at the gym. If you like me enough there then you will like me anywhere.
