I was watching yet another interesting program the other day about the account of a Dutch family who were living and working in Indonesia in 1883. It was basically about this Volcano that erupted and sunk into the sea sending a tsunami and then 500 degree debri towards the people which resulted in thousands of lives lost. That was despite living more than 30 miles away. Apparently the blast was so loud it could be heard 3000 miles away.

In 1927 a new island emerged which is called Anak Krakatau which means son of Krakatoa. This island they said is rising 5m each year. I'm like OMG people of Indonesia you don't want to live anywhere near that thing. History is repeating!!

Nice view of the currents of the magma, the stress points, and the reliefs of our crust. Like a hot cherry pie, our crust has points of presure, and turbulent reactions to that stress.  Nice colors of delusion in the painting!

The effects of Krakatoa's eruption was world wide. The ash spread and produced sulfur dioxide ( H2SO4)gas in the upper atmoshere causing red sunsets and acid rain for 5 years afterward.

A Norwegian artist Edvard Munch painted an OMG moment "The Scream of Nature" refecting on the unusual sunsets caused by Krakatoa
