So I've had to cancel my hot air balloon ride at Luxor after recent events in the news where around 16 people have died after their balloon caught fire and burst. There was also a similar incident in 2009 where people were critically injured after dropping 40ft. So health and safety there is obviously not up to scratch.

Can anyone recommend any other good locations which are safer around he world for hot air balloon rides? Needs to be of a warm and sunny climate for the views.

A hot air balloon ride is most definitely on my bucket list!  Here in Arizona there are a lot of places that have rides.  I'm not sure if that is in your vicinity either, but it is warm.  Good luck with that.

Breathtaking views, and always a little anxiety about whether we'll land in a pride of lions.   lol

Sarah,

Albuquerque, New Mexico has some amazing balloon festivals. One in particular, is a World event in early October, they hold it every year. Hundreds go up around the same time, usually launched in a few groups.

They offer a lot of rides during this fiesta time.

Hi Sarah,

I don't know how interested you are in traveling to southern California from Las Vegas but if u r, here is a video for you.  I live in Temecula, CA., it is a very popular area for Hot Air Ballooning. There are lots of companies to choose from (at least I'm assuming there are), just search for Temecula Hot Air Balloon Rides. We are about a 4 hr car ride from Vegas.

And yes the time and temperature is imparative..
I went skydiving and hit it right before sunset, and it was beautiful!!
