I was looking at a friends post on FB. Research had been carried out on the impact a name could have on a child's success in life.  For instance they had names of people who attended Oxford University between 2008-2013. Names such as Eleanor, Anna, Peter and Simon were more common there than names such as Paige, Shannon and Reece.

However, like all studies I believe there to be more factors at play here.

Your thoughts?

Sarah :-)

Ha yes, I looked up that song. Very funny! :-)

Yes people with different backgrounds do tend to choose different clusters of names. I had to laugh the other day there was this posh London guy on the tv and he make reference to his daughter who was named Clemontina. I'm like wow she is most definitely destined for Oxford or Cambridge. hehe

As soon as I saw the title I knew the answer but bill got it first.  "Bill or George, Anything but Sue!"

It might be appropriate to research why anyone would fund such a study.  Does anyone know someone named Eleanor?  I do believe that if you name a kid Apple, Plum or Peach they might become a fruit.

It may be a little before your time, Sarah but Johnny Cash had a hit song named ""A Boy Named Sue."" that might answer your question. I am sure you can find it on U Toob...
