Hoping some of the men out there can educate me. Why are all you men in your late 40's or 50's looking for the women in their 20's and 30's....young enough to be your daughters?

If you are truly looking for your other half to live he rest of your life with, wouldn't you want someone who has the same values, shared similar life lessons and experiences you've had. Where do you think your 20 or 30 yr old will be when you are in your golden years and really need that special someone by your side? Why wouldn't you be looking for someone your equal, also well established, independent and not looking for oyu to take care of them but someone who truly wants to be with you for you - not because of your bank account

Just curious. Thank you for the education

ROFLMAO.  My very average picture has garnered nothing but scammers!  It seems we're damned if we do and damned if we don't.  Lying gets you noticed and a first date but nothing else.  Being honest gets you bupkis.

C'est lat vie.

I probably look a lot better in person than I do in my pic.  Just guessing of course.  But I suspect that's true.  Also I'm 23 pounds lighter now than I was when my pic was taken.  Haven't gotten around to having anyone take a new pic of me.  I hate photos.  But, then again, I pretty much don't care much about garnering any dating interest any longer.  Too long a history with too many scammers.  I'm here for the blogs only.

But, Dak, we DO want a photo of you!  All of us are dying to know what you look like.

Love you, kiddo,

Pat

Pat you asked for my photo...so here you go.  It's pretty recent..about a year ago.

Usually I'm humble and have a self deprecating personality, it doesn't help on a dating site where you are suppose to tell everyone how great you are! Lol. I find it fascinating those seldom times that I look at profiles on here and see how very average looking people call themselves "Hot" or at least "Very Good Looking", who exactly are they comparing themselves to I wonder.

You are right, DAK holds far more humour than most people I know. He made me laugh so hard one day, there was so much tears running down my face! It was hilarious! And you know what? He doesn't even believe he is that funny...he said to me "Liv, you are far too easily humored"! Yeah, right! I just wonder why none of my prospective dates make me laugh as hard, LOL? Should I send them down to Dakota School of Humor to be vetted first?

I love humour, far more pleasant than endless drivel and mindless arguments....

Toast to more humour on the blogs....cheers everyone!

Liv.

I'm with you Liv.  More humor needed here.  Too bad I'm not in a very humorous mood.  I need some heavy duty inspiration.

ROFLMAO! DAK...you nailed it good, my friend!!

The other day, I had a 60 year old man chasing me down hell's road! I couldn't believe it. He wouldn't take no for answer. There was no where in my profile where I indicated that I might be interested in a 60 year old man. However, not wanting to be rude, I politely declined. But he persisted and before I knew it he started sending me sexual messages. That was it! I actually remember my fingers instinctively typing the word "Ewww" and sending it back to him! I blocked him straight away after that! LOL!!!

So, Memories, men will be men!

Liv.

Hey Liv,

It's crazy the things people do.  A while back, I had a 19y.o. girl from Canada (those crazy Canadians) contact me.  Now, I'm not saying I didn't like it, but I just couldn't get serious even when just talking to her.  I didn't get lucky enough for her to talk sexual to me...darn it...but it was interesting. :)  So I guess, if a 60 year old is looking for a 30 year old then there will be one somewhere.  Getting old.....er sux, but it will happen to us all.

Hello Memories,

First I'm not sure "all" men are looking for younger women.  Secondly, When someone tells me "she's young enough to be your daughter" I reply: That's impossible because I don't have a daughter. :)  So, I can answer your question in the most simple way.  Youth is attractive and men are visual.  Some men are just stupid and have no idea that they are screwing up, while others knowingly screw up by dating younger women.  And sometimes it works out perfect for a older man to be with a younger woman.  My aunt was well over 20 years younger than her husband and it worked.  Then there is the whole question of; what is age? and is age really just a number?  As we all know, some things do get better with age while other things do not.  It also matter how a person is health wise.  I stay in really great shape so I appear to be a little younger than my age.  I am more attracted to a thinner woman and many times both men and women put on weight as they age.  So I do find myself more attracted to younger women in that aspect.  I live in Alabama and I believe it was rate the 3rd most obese state...even many of the young woman are over-weight.  I'm into healthy living and that just will not work for me.

Men seek younger women for multiple reasons.

1.  The man is trying to reclaim his youth.  She makes him feel like he still has it.

2.  The man wants a younger woman to impress his friends.

3.  He finds a younger woman more attractive.

4.  He's to damn stupid to realize he's gotten old. (I know a guy like this and he looks his age)

Now, there are some younger women that are mature and can hold good conversations.  But I've found that the majority of younger women seem to have ADD when trying to hold a meaningful conversation.  I can't deal with that either.

So IMO it is much wiser for a man to date someone around his own age.  And if he is attracted to younger women, then he should compare himself to the men her age and see if he has the ability to keep up.  If he can, and is willing to take a chance on failing...then go for it.  But the odds are stacked against him and he better be a exception to the rule of aging.  Now, let me get back to searching for 18y.o. women. :-)  Man, we guys are stupid. Wink :)

I fail to understand those who post no photos as well. I can verify DAKOTA WAS NOT FAT, and WAS in shape when we met. I was travelling.. Where was I going DAK? IDK.. But I was traveling and we met and he bought me dinner.  :)

The problem I had? His fave place was Logan's Roadhouse.. WHERE THERE ARE PEANUTS ON THE FLOOR! lolol.. (Actually, it wasn't bad.. )

HOWEVER DAKOTA!! I can't vouch you aren't fat now dear!!

People, that's WHY you need to DATE all photos!!

But no DAK is no troll.. I mean, LOOK AT HIS PICTURE!! Bwahahahahaaha!! :)

Yes, look at my picture closely...I'm with the blue man group.  Hoping there is no fooling you.  Right after we met, I started eating at the peanut joint every night, gained 300lbs and am in denial. :-)  It could be true???

I have no idea where you were going, I think you were on a quest for the Holy Grail or something like that...sand bags were in the back, so I guess you'd been doing some kind of Indiana Jones thing.

PS.  You drive a Dodge Pickup with big A** rims...I figured you could take a few peanuts on the floor. :-)

Hey Jen,

Yes, it's a turn off to me when I see people say that they are "hot" or "very good looking" on their profile.  Even if they are, it sounds like they are totally self absorbed.  I'm more attracted to the girl next door look, model shots don't do much for me because they are doctored.  I'd rather see a every day kind of photo, it gives me a perspective on the person.

As for what I said, I can see how it could have come across wrong.  All I was saying is that I live healthy, exercise a lot, so I find myself more attracted to the same.  That doesn't mean I don't like women that are overweight, they just are not for me...as for a dating relationship.  In fact I was out last night with a friend and she is very large...but she is so sweet, kind, and gentle.  I like her but I just can't see her hitting the gym with me.  I need to be motivated and to motivate.  Someone that is more interested in fast food than exercise is just not good motivation for me.  Like most people, I like fast food but it doesn't like me.  I just can feel good eating that stuff.  Why is it that the bad stuff always taste so good?

Oh, and I understand 100% what you are saying about how people perceive themselves.  Years ago I purchased some gym equipment from a guy.  I asked him, why are you selling your equipment?  He said, because I'm in such great shape that I don't need it any longer.  Ummm?...he was average at best.  So I try very hard to be accurate when I say I'm in shape...and I always have room for improvement...plenty of room. :-)

My daughter tells me that my dates have to be at least 10 years older than she is.  She wants no risk of a mother-in-law being any closer to her age or younger than she is.

Not much risk.
