I agree, that is a huge challenge to this "online dating" scene. It is fun to to get to know someone...and then what? I guess if it goes far enough, then there is a leap of faith that needs to happen. Who travels to who? How do you really know? I know if you get enough info you can verify the basics...but you can never verify the "in person' chemistry and connection...but then again, you never know when that risk is worth the reward. I doubt there is one good answer.

Personally I think it is very doable with a little planning especially if you are an indpendent contractor of sorts such as owning your own business. You come up with an agreed upon amount to be deposited with an attorney or in some other escrow and you go. Your basic normal living expenses and/or whatever amount agreed upon is then covered no matter what happens and you are both free to enjoy yourselves. I prefer to travel with women who are in between jobs. They always say "how can I leave when I have to look for a job." I always say "it's the best time to go. If you had a job you couldn't go period." Good travelling ladies.

I agree. I've have friends who had similar challenges. I think that I will just do as they do and keep my schedule "as is". I'm an Independent Contractor, so my schedule allows for *some* flexibility. I'll make minor modifications dependent on how long the other party and myself have known each other. However, just in general, if I'm in the middle of a contract I'm not packing up and leaving for anyone.
BTW, as somewhat of a "newbie" to the blogs/forums...I'm resurrecting some of the older, interesting posts. ; P
