the first stop on this trek is a casino property near philadelphia, mississippi...run by the choctow nation called pearl river resort... two casino/hotel properties about 550 rooms each... last year, both were open but services were a bit limited...best restaurant closed...etc... this year one of the hotels is shut down...the other sparsely subscribed... the casino floor is very much locals...very few tourists/players there are two very good golf courses here...a small advance group from our party got here last night and played one of them....over watered and practically unplayable... we will be looking elsewhere tomorrow it would appear that this area did not get the memo that the recession was over... be well, jay
