I don't watch Fox News... do you?  If you're bound by party loyalty and blinded by partisan ideologies you're just a follower bleeting your support for their idea du jour like lambs to slaughter.  The Left and the Right fight to win the power, influences, perks and riches that come with membership to their self anointed aristocracy.

I hope that nuance of "political theater" didn't go unnoticed.  This was a political stunt by the Dems to bolster their mid-term media blitz and it seems you bought it.   A Constitutional Amendment requires 67 Senators and two thirds of the House and then has to be ratified by 38 States.  Remember the ERA?  I doubt that 2/3rds of this  Clown Congress could agree on what day of the week it is.

Rok, when you fail to ask for what you want....it is for sure you will not get it.  A cynical, defeatest attitude will achieve nothing!

If we the people want the money OUT of our politics .....and DEMAND it....they will vote for it or lose their jobs!!! We hire people who WILL vote for it.

IF NOTHING CHANGES....THEN NOTHING CHANGES!

If you don't see the clear and present danger of letting big corporations write our legislation and run our country...then you don't know anything about history!  ISIL ruthlessness is nothing compared to this money worshiping bunch!

Just more political theater Diana.  Do you really think the Washington aristocracy will bite the hand that feeds them.  This bill hardly made it's way out of committee.  The Supreme Court ruled on this several years ago so this is just a p*ssing contest between branches of gov't.  The Dem Super Pacs outspend the Republicrats.  Washingtom has become irrelevant, the midterms have become irrelevant, Obama has become irrelevant.  Hillary is the poster child for crony capitalism and lives in the back pocket of Wall Street.

If you really want to get anything done you'll have to do it yourself.

Ahhh....yes...the Supreme Court.  All I can say is that if corporations are people, with freedom of speech and religious rights....I wish they would have to start paying taxes like the rest of us people!!

I do believe this issue is consistent with what Jacques Attali, a French economist said, in an interview about a comparative study (Europe-US), I have recently listened to, that the main issue in the US is the disparity between riches and poors (all of what happened on Wall Street, Madoff, the mortgages chaos, etc.). A deep study in my opinion, because he reveals the high level of consequences in many other  important fields.

On another note, but also maybe related, I don't see in here, anywhere, what Mr. President is facing now also as obstacles to eradicate the dangers we are facing with that "cancer": is this a taboo in here?

Hi Infinity!!  So good to see you.  No, I don't think there is a taboo.  I have been buried under the stresses and tasks involved in putting my house up for sale in order to move closer to my mother.  No time to really debate issues of late.  Unfortunately, there don't seem to be many others interested in current event discussions.

This Republican denial ruse, reminds me of Robin William's take, on Obama&McCain's late  2012 Debates...Agree,Agree, But! Obama could Direct actions with Iraq, but went to Congress. Historical Debates happened in 2008; the Pullout Times of Afghan.& Iraq. Both parties agreed on 2013-2014,as a pullout window, The Iraq War was at the Urban Community Policeing phase, after the Surge. The Republicans(McConnell) want now, to use that move, as a reproach to Obama's Foreign Policy; though, The American People were quite sour of war, 2 years ago. Situations change; especially, with Mother Russia in the ARMSBZzzz. Russia has arteries in Syria. How many?

There is an upsurge of Russian Soldiers, coming back to their buryial, in their communities, in Russia...Ukraine? All had accidents...OK LOL! So, The world is littered with AK47's. Go Figure!

While the Saudi's dismember body parts in the Square, on Friday; They are upset at atrocities of ISIS. "Cut his clean hand off; watch him whither, for his crime. No societal uproar there!

The Hague has a few issues with Russia. ISIS/ISIL is the first act in this Russian Tragedy. Will the American People sour, when Syria, and Russia are warned; in this Obama Speach to the Nation? These are massive sorte's, into Syria?Iraq didn't berth ISIS/ISIL; Syria did....As Israel watches.

This might hedge Israel/Iran relations. Though, the countries are night and day apart, Iran has joined the Group of denouncing Islamic Countries to ISIS/ISIL's atrocities; Lancing an interstitial Cyst of Islam Perception. Iran has history with a vast area of Nations. Who built the Mosque on the Temple Holy of Holy's in Jerusalem. Maybe, somthing will heal. Distant Cousin's fighting...HOOooo...

...Grab your popcorn. This action has a 2 year period. Let's see what Hillary will do Jan. 3,2017. Now, That will be a wicked, New Years Party, on the 1st(111700:00)!

Well...Louisiana perculated a decision, toNOT identify same sex couples as joined in matrimony, and USSC law is bound to be altered from Meister VS Moore's(1879?) decision, to set minimum standards of matrimony; particularly, Man&Woman. Moore's widow was a squah, from Michigan, taken to wife from a tribe. Moore dies, and Moore's mother sells a piece of land, without the widows approval. Moore's mother challanged the Marriage. the basic idea of co-habitation, and voicing his coupling, made the Moores Married;plus the longevity, till his death. Some liberal States have already married GLTB couples. The general rule for a coupling is a Minister Of The Cloth, 2 witnesses, and,as support, a certificate. Most good marriage guests, number 50 up(Those SCotch Irish Canadian Winter Wedding's...Hooooo!)!

The couple in LA. have Due Process, and Discrimination in their favor. USSC Law is the Common Law,drawn from the purist of acceptance of combined societies. The 1st,4th,and 5th, especially the wording of LIBERTY, and PROPERTY; 5th. If someone wishes to exercize their liberty to someone else; OK...! Do Your Combo Charts.Learn Lot's!

As a sidebar; most thoughts go to the Sodom&Gomarrah story(Abraham, Lot); Much happen's in that Passage in Genesis. A deeper look at Sodom gives a Putrid Vialness outlook to the peope. You were a target, when entering the Gate. This went farther than being simply LGTB. All couples have social, personality issues within the relationship. I remember the scare of the Hemopheliacs, 1983. Roman bath's in Ole' San Franciscoooooo...Colonic's business boomed!

Sicero was Male Partnered, And, In the Roman Senate? Most thought Benjimin Franklin Gay; Not as I've seen. Some French are That Way!... OK...There is usually an artistic link to MM,FF...!

Hello King,

That was a fair reply. I was overly concise.

In front of a friendly audience or talking about topics she is comfortable with, she is great.

I incorrectly indicated that she was like former Boston Mayor Menino who could not accomplish the above.

I had hoped to avoid discussing the issue of whether or not Elizabeth Warren has Native American ancestry. In trying to avoid it I said something other than what I had intended.

When responding to questions regarding whether she had used false claims of Native American ancestry to advance herself, Warren looked very unpresidential.

I never saw Obama look that uncomfortable but admittedly I did not follow him as closely in his early years.

In general, my opinion is that for Warren the gap between speaking to a friendly audience vs speaking extemporaneously to a critical audience is a bigger issue than for many other politicians. The Massachusetts Democratic Party and media lined up behind Warren in her last election. For Biden there is no gap. He sounds foolish regardless.

If Warren were not likely (vs almost certainly) to face Clinton in the primary she would be in good shape. The media would be on Warren's side in the primary and on the side of whoever gets the Democratic nomination.

I think Warren will be unprepared for the barrage she will face from Clinton.

Much of the combat will be between surrogates.

But, the path to victory for Clinton is to get Warren in a deer in the headlights moment.

Since both candidates have published books since their last campaigns, when presented with uncomfortable questions they may just say "I covered that in my book."

But if Clinton can get Warren back on her heels I think Clinton can tip her over.

Clinton has no incentive to hold back. Regardless of the primary, it is difficult to imagine many voters changing their opinion of Clinton.

Scott Brown had substantial incentive to hold back.

The conflict for the African American vote will be challenging with Obama supporting Warren but the Clintons having long had large support from the African American community.

Given the sympathetic treatment that Warren has been given in Massachusetts, I do not think that she will be prepared to face Clinton. Even if she gets the nomination she may be too scarred for the general election.

Facing a friendly audience such as NPR or grilling someone from her senate seat Warren does very well. I just do not see how she will be prepared for Clinton.

I say all of the above having voted for Warren when presented with a worse alternative and will likely do so again.

YouTube has video of Warren hiding behind Governor Patrick when asked about the Native American issue. Should be damaging in primary and general election.

Waren is not a good public speaker?  I think a lot of Democrats disagree, since she's in more demand for speaking engagements all over the country than just about anyone other than Obama himself or the Clintons.

A May 25, 2014 article in The Economist titled "Curious ambitions" said, "Leaving aside the content of her policies, Mrs Warren is a punchy public speaker: crisp, clear and impassioned in tone, rather than strident. "
