Is anyone besides me concerned about this? This administration was to disarm the people. How can a revolution start without guns and ammo? This is going to sound totally and absolutely crazy to some people who like this administration. I am not convinced that the killing in CT was not a planned event. Things are too out of kilter with this administration that I'd put nothing and I mean nothing past them for them to put their agenda into play. I read Glenn Beck's book Agenda 21. That is a real thing for those of you who don't know that the UN is endorsing.

Obama is a radical and there's nothing to keep him from doing whatever he wants. He's got all the crazies on his side! I'd not put it past him or those in the background, George Soros, to do whatever it takes to disarm the American people. So much so, that he'd orchastrate another tragedy such as what took place in CT. Children being injured or killed tugs on the heart strings way more way way way more than adults. You see the outrage and the gun buy backs and people talking about doing away with the second amendment. We are losing our rights given to us by the founding fathers... the freedoms that were fought for, that patriots lost their lives for.

I will even go as far as FEMS camps....I can only imagine what you are thinking reading this...hell I don't even know if MM will even allow this to be put out there for discussion. I hope they will and I thank them ahead of time if they do.

Oh boy I can hardly wait to see the responses I will get!!!!!!

TRUE STORY---- JANUARY 2013...

The Mother ran to her attic with her 9 year old twins to escape a criminal trying to rob her. When THE CRIMINAL realized what she had done, he HUNTED HER AND HER CHILDREN DOWN IN THE ATTIC!

She shot all 6 bullets, with 5 hitting him.. YET HE STILL MANAGED TO RUN AWAY!!

What if her ammo had been limited? Or she had missed most of her shots?

HER FAMILY WOULD BE DEAD!!

Does it really matter how many shots a Mother must take in order to enforce her children's safety?

Had it taken 50 shots to save her children...

I'M ALL FOR IT!!

Gun control has become the new agenda for politicians that cannot solve the real issues of the US.  The vast majority of people on the gun control side have never owned or fired a gun.  Hunting was a way of life for us on the ranch.

As background, our family was raised on the ranch in Georgia.  We were taught to respect and honor a gun.  We were taught at age 6 to shoot a BB gun and then progress to larger caliber shotguns, rifles and pistols.

Hope, I am still struggling to understand the point you are trying to make.  Ok, let’s try to examine your most recent statement.

You said:  I "compared" the MURDER of an Unborn living little creature…………….to the government controlling what guns a person possesses...

Is your comparison that murder is similar to government control of semi-automatic weapons???  Can you help me to understand how that is an appropriate analogy?

Ok….is it also Murder to kill other living little “creatures”?  What does the word Murder mean to you?  When does the fetus become a person?  What makes a person?  Is a person capable of reason; capable of emotion; possess consciousness….does a fetus possess these characteristics?

Does Pro Choice mean Pro Murder to you?  If abortion is murder…..should women who choose abortion be prosecuted for 1st degree murder?  Should they be arrested, prosecuted and sentenced to the death penalty?  What about her accomplices?  Is the death penalty murder?   When is killing murder?  Is war murder? Is hunting murder?

All these questions are very difficult to answer and can be dependent on economic and social issues, including your personal belief system.  But no one is for abortions.  Education and prevention of unwanted pregnancy are two of the potential answers for this issue. But the GOP seems hell bent on cutting support for these types of programs, ensuring more socioeconomic problems/challenges for our society.

Re: Gun Possession:  Specifically at issue is the public proliferation of military style weapons and high capacity clips that are used to create scenes of mass murder. I thought conservatives were against weapons of mass destruction.  If someone wants to shoot this type of weapon, why don’t they join the military?  That’s what they were designed for……war.

In the past, opponents to common sense gun legislation used to say home protection, hunting and recreation are reasons for opposing regulations.  No longer true!  Now, admitting legitimate ownership of normal guns is not affected and is constitutionally protected, they suggest the potential necessity for insurrection.  Again, I encourage any and all that find our duly elected government unacceptable, to please move to Somalia.   They have NO government…..and I hear it’s nice this time of year!

The Constitution was written in order to form the government of the United States and it is charged with the number one task to “insure domestic Tranquility”.  PLEASE read the first statement of Constitution!!!  Gun laws that promote public safety and tranquility do not conflict with the 2nd Amendment.  Don’t take my word for it.  Supreme Court Justice Scalia, appointed by your beloved Ronald Reagan, says so.  Do opponents think they know more about constitutional law than he does???

Trust me on this one:  The NRA (the gun lobby) does NOT care about 2nd Amendment rights!  Their opposition to legislation only has to do with protecting the many, many millions of dollars weapon and ammunition manufacturers/retailers make off this American obsession with violence.

If the GOP continues to be the party of Guns Over People, they are finished politically!  The majority of Americans are in favor of common sense gun safety laws and I can provide the recent polling data to support that statement.

Hi Dekan,

Can you provide some evidence regarding your statements?  How did you hear about black helicopters and black Suburbuns?  Can you explain your statement about sheriffs arresting federal agents who are trying to take away guns?  What is that all about?

Thanks.

Hey hey Lady DI....

Hope you are doing well..... Between work and being sick, we havent seen much of you lately.  I heard you being paged on NOTHING by LIV... I wouldn't worry over it.. It's probably just NOTHING!! BUT... I am working on a very special "Naughty Nurse" uniform for you after I complete Pat's!! PAT will be blushing!! Wait til you see. IT'S HILARIOUS!!

Hey, what's up with no picture? You have nice photos... Now you're just another blue mystery!!

Okay folks, now, back to our reguarly scheduled program! Heehee~~

BUT DI...... I DIDN'T compare a woman to a gun....

I "compared" the MURDER of an Unborn living little creature, whose little brain is making waves, he can hear, move, has all his little fingers and toes, and all his adult organs are formed ....

to the government controlling what guns a person possesses...

The Liberal side "fights for WOMEN'S rights" for abortion...... FINE! It's a mere "fetus" that cannot live outside the woman's body. Fine! But I fail to wrap my little blonde brain around how this same side who deems it is "okay" to suck an obvious living creation out of a woman's body like a vacuum and rip his little body to shreds... ALL IN THE NAME OF A "WOMAN'S CHOICE" over HER BODY.. Killing 800 babies a day...

And YES, I know all about the back alley abortions etc... and I still remain Pro-Choice, despite the sickening photos I saw yesterday...

But, What I fail to understand is ..

How does the same side that defends the right TO MURDER,  murder of another living HUMAN creature, REGARDLESS OF THE CIRCUMSTANCE, wish to take away and CONTROL ANY LAW ABIDING CITIZENS GUNS... PERIOD!

That's the question of the day!

The parties are BOTH UNBALANCED in their views, and that is exactly why individuals as myself are aways caught in the crossfire!

THE GOVERNMENT NEEDS TO STEP BACK OFF MY BODY, MY GUNS, MY MEDICAL CARE, and everything else that is MY BUSINESS...

PERIOD!!

There is a lot of controversy regarding WHAT the government wants to "take away"... I do not have the actual documents in my hand..

However, history has proven in government control.....

Give them an inch.. They take a mile..

The government should not be given a centimeter!

If the people who are "so concerned" with the semi automatic firearms going around "killing innocent babies"...

WHY ARE THEY NOT TRYING TO ABOLISH ALCOHOL?

Smells a little fishy from where I stand...

We are on our way to government control...

“Hope this made sense to at least 1 person....”

Lololol…..me too!  You basically lost me when you compared a woman to a gun.

Difficult societal issues are never “simplistic”.

The practice of abortion dates back to ancient times.  The first recorded evidence of induced abortion is from the Egyptian Ebers Papyrus in 1550 BC.  Source: Wikipedia

Prior to Roe vs Wade, desperate women facing the financial burdens and social stigma of unintended pregnancy and believing they have no other option, risked their lives by undergoing unsafe abortions…..often done clandestinely by untrained individuals or by the pregnant women themselves.

Methods such as drinking toxic fluids like turpentine, bleach, or drinkable concoctions mixed with livestock manure……or inflicting direct internal injury by inserting herbal preparations, or a foreign body such as a twig, coat hanger, or chicken bone.  Unskilled providers also improperly performed certain procedures in unhygienic settings, causing perforations and infections.  Often external injury methods were used, such as jumping from the top of stairs or a roof, or inflicting blunt trauma to the abdomen such as with repeated punches.

I won’t go on to describe the statistics of how many women died, suffered long-term health complications or the thousands of children left motherless.

The burden of unsafe abortion lies not only with the women and families, but also with the public health system. Every woman admitted for emergency post-abortion care may require blood products, antibiotics, oxytocic medication, anesthesia, operating rooms, and surgical specialists. The financial and logistic impact of emergency care can overwhelm a health system and could potentially prevent attention to be administered to other patients.

While I am well aware of the Christian point of view and the ideology to control the behavior of others, there is one clear fact.  It is poor and minority women that will be disproportionately affected by the unavailability of safe abortions……because wealthy women with resources will always get their safe, medical abortions.

Abortions should be rare, legal and SAFE.  It is a difficult and private decision which should be made by the woman, in consultation with her family and physician.  IMO

PS:  BTW Hope….I am gratified that you no longer believe Liberals are coming in black helicopters to take away ALL guns.   Read up on the Supreme Court Heller case.  The Court ruled it is a “Right” to have a gun in your home for self-protection……”End of Story”.  *wink*  However, Justice Scalia is quoted below in that case.  The Second Amendment is not unlimited…..as in the example of automatic weapons and sawed off shotguns which have already been banned.

Quoting Diana3316:

So….let me get this straight.

The nation of Libya collapses in a pool of blood and four seasoned American adults get killed, the Congress holds hearings demanding answers…..yet when twenty innocent 6 year olds get slaughtered in cold blood by a crazed person in our homeland…..then there’s no reason to do anything differently.

PS..

Regarding the photo about "fetus":

Day 21: HEART BEATS

Day 28: Backbone / Muscles Form / Hair Sprouts.. Unless it's my baby.. NO HAIR TIL AGE 2!!!!

Day 35: FINGERS

Day 40: Brain Waves detected and Recorded

Week 6: brain takes over, liver produces blood cells now

Week 8: All adult "parts" have been formed... and are working..

SO... As a HUMAN BEING... Should I be "Pro-Choice?"

NOOOooooo...

WHY? am I Pro-Choice then???????????????????????

BECAUSE I THINK THE GOVERNMENT NEEDS TO STEP BACK OFF MY BODY... AS WELL AS STEP BACK OFF MY GUNS AND PERSONAL LIFE IF IT DOES NOT AFFECT OTHER INDIVIDUALS...... PERIOD!

Christians answer to GOD on this issue and for Non-Christians, they hold no Higher Power Authoritation in their lives, so they answer only to their conscience. (at least for now)

Therefore, so far as the "viable life" ....

Well, let me put it to everyone this way, as I am fully aware many "Christians" are probably very angry with me being Pro-Choice.. And please don't clog up this woman's blog with hate mail... Should you feel the need to chastise me, please do so privately. I just fell upon some abortion photos, so I am an easy target, as I am "down" right now and almost in tears.. (I had NO IDEA.. I AM sickened.. But will remain Pro-Choice)

YES, I think abortion is murder.. At least after Week 8 for sure... Heck at like week 6 a fetus will suck it's thumb, so if that isn't a LIFE, I don't know what is! (I sucked my thumb til I was 12, so I should know!)

Abortion is NOT an easy issue for me..

1) Too many starving babies as there is..

2) ONLY THE MOTHER CARRYING can keep that "fetus" alive..

3) I can't raise even ONE of the millions of fetuses aborted, so who am I to say what a woman MUST do. I'm not here to live her life for her or make all her choices.

4) The government needs to stay out of our business if it does not harm others..

5) It's a "God-thing" for me.. I believe in a Higher Power and I feel this is such a complex issue, only HE has the right to judge...

Now, I would ask the ones, as our Lovely Lady DI here, who has BTW, granted me many stimulating as well as some insightful commentary in the past...

If you are for "gun control," and you believe in abortion...

How do you view "gun control" differently than abortion? There's a HEART BEAT, EYES, a FETUS HEARS at 6 weeks, it sucks it's thumb...

How is it OKAY to control our guns...

but not a woman's body carrying a fetus that sucks it's thumb and uses it's brain?

If a woman were pregnant... and REFUSED TO EAT...

Would you wish that woman to eat? Of course you would! You know the fetus will die if she doesn't...

Do you get upset watching a woman drink or smoke when pregnant.. (I FUME!!! )

WHY? If "IT" isnt really important until it can breath without mom's help... What difference does it make?

And lastly,

If I had a baby and let it sit in my home and never offered food... and the baby died...

Would THAT be murder?

See, a "baby" can't take care of itself anymore than a fetus can.... even after birth...

THAT'S the reason we have crazy, loving, passionate people out there fighting for the fetus...

Because in the same respect animals and born babies can't care for themselves or speak up for themselves, neither can the fetus.

Hope this made sense to at least 1 person....

Actually Lady DI..

WHAT is there to do? The perpetrator of the "CRIME".... is DEAD....

CASE CLOSED.....

It REALLY IS THAT SIMPLISTIC...

These heinous crimes occur.. TRUE... But it isn't like we have some epedimic of mass shootings happening daily. We have bad people all over the globe choosing from time to time to commence in HORRIBLE CRIMINAL acts where a mass of people suffer or die and we mourn as a Nation. These acts have been anything from the Jim Jones (from Indiana) poisoning over 200 babies, McVey and Nichols bombing killing 169 people, 19 of whom were children, and most recent, the Newtown massacre where 19 children and several adults were slain.

HOWEVER, taking the statistics of mass murders, or tally up ALL murders PERIOD, regardless of how one is murdered, murder is not even a blimp on the radar.

Realisticly, in a Nation / World filled with

U.S. 315,238,749
World 7,062,837,289

Mass murders, or ANY murder are simply NOT a frequent crime when you work it against the POPULATION OF PEOPLE.

SO WHY WOULD ANYONE CONSIDER TAKING PEOPLE'S GUNS AWAY? Especialy since anyone with any lick of common sense has to figure "most" crimes committed are NOT committed with traceable, legal weaponry, single shots or automatics. WHY? Because criminals don't want to get caught!

In the United States of America we PROSECUTE individuals we suspect to commit CRIMES, one of which is MURDER, be it by firearm, poisoning, vehicular manslaughter, negligence etc... We don't care HOW you kill, but IF you murder, and we suspect it, you will stand trial..

The young man is dead, therefore, he CANNOT stand trial.

IT'S JUST THAT SIMPLE!!

We should not be even arguing the semi-automatic gun laws to begin with.  And people, this IS about AUTOMATIC TYPE GUNS... I really wish people would quit spreading rumor the government wants ALL guns taken away. NO THEY DO NOT.....

(at least, NOT YET!)

And regarding Libya.. YES, we SHOULD demand answers..

As far as Newtown goes..

WE ALREADY HAVE THE ANSWER...

He was an emotionally unstable young man who found a means to reign harm on innocent victims. You know as well as I do DI... ANY individual who could perpetrate this was not of sound mind...

The answers, my fellow bloggers, do not lie within the gun .. The answers lie within the mental health of many who go unseen as needing help... In many ways, the perps are the initial victims. And now we get to allow the fine government to run our health care...

This is a MENTAL HEALTH ISSUE, not a GUN ISSUE....

In 2010, almost 11,000 people were killed / murdered in DUI accidents... Perhaps we should abolish alcohol... I mean, it IS ALCOHOLS FAULT the people died...

Right??

SUICIDE.. (MENTAL Issues) is FAR more an issue than rapid gunfire...

WHAT ARE WE DOING ABOUT THAT?

Look at the green... Those are all SUICIDES in 2010...

3 TIMES higher rate than FIREARM DEATHS a year..

Please note the children aged 10-14... SUICIDE is only 2nd to Motor Vehicle Accidents...

Don't bury your heads everyone.. This has NOTHING to do with guns...

MENTAL HEALTH~~

The Underlying Issue..

HI DEKAN.....

Ran across this on that other social site .. and thought about you...

Although I am a Christian, I do believe in the "freedom" of choice for a woman's body. I know for many, they consider me to be a horrible person due to this and frown terribly on me... (Have there ever been some nasty comments on that OTHER site! LOL)

BUT... I truly feel THIS SIGN exemplifies MY BELIEFS in gun "control."

If we do not select, as a nation, to control what a woman does to her body in the first trimester of pregnancy; we have NO BUSINESS or "RIGHT" in governing Americans and what guns they select, regardless of how many and how rapidly bullets can fire.

As with most EVERYTHING ELSE... WE ARE OUT OF BALANCE POLITICALLY!

Have a great weekend!

I had posted here previously and lost it when trying to edit and computer froze! UGH... But thought I'd say HELLO when I saw this..

I find it ironic, that some of the people that seem to think it’s sooo patriotic to say the Pledge of Allegiance, are some of the same people that want to arm themselves against the Republic they have pledged allegiance to!!

What????   It seems their patriotic words…. are basically worthless!

This has been circulating around the Internet for quite some time. No one seems to know who to give credit to for this amazing presentation, but it deserves to be seen. If you've read it, think about what it says. If you haven't read it, it's well worth the time it takes to do so. It's as true today as it was one hundred and ninety years ago. I can't stress enough how important this issue is. Whether you own a gun or not, look at what history shows the chain of events has been throughout time when gun rights are taken away from the citizens, and don't cave in to the pressure this administration is using to put this bill through. Call your Senators and Representatives and tell them they won't have your vote in the next election if they vote for this bill. Sign online petitions. Talk to friends and neighbors who don't understand the implication the passing of this bill will have...not only our freedom...but on the very survival of America as a free and Democratic nation.

December 29, 2012 marked the 122nd Anniversary of the murder of 297 Sioux Indians at Wounded Knee Creek on the Pine Ridge Indian Reservation in South Dakota. These 297 people, in their winter camp, were murdered by federal agents and members of the 7th Cavalry who had come to confiscate their firearms "for their own safety and protection". The slaughter began AFTER the majority of the Sioux had peacefully turned in their firearms. When the final round had flown, of the 297 dead or dying, two thirds (200) were women and children. Around 40 members of the 7th Cavalry were killed, over half cut down by friendly fire from the Hotchkiss guns of their overzealous comrades-in-arms. Twenty members of the 7th Cavalry were deemed "National Heroes" and awarded the Medal of Honor for their acts of cowardice.

We do not hear of Wounded Knee today. It is not mentioned in our history classes or books. What little does exist about Wounded Knee is normally the sanitized "Official Government Explanation" or the historically and factually inaccurate depictions of the events leading up to the massacre on the movie screen.

Wounded Knee was among the first federally backed gun confiscation attempts in United States history. It ended in the senseless murder of 297 people.

Before you jump on the emotionally charged bandwagon for gun-control, take a moment to reflect on the real purpose of the Second Amendment- The right of the people to take up arms in defense of themselves, their families, and property in the face of invading armies or an oppressive government. The argument that the Second Amendment only applies to hunting and target shooting is asinine. When the United States Constitution was drafted "hunting" was an everyday chore carried out by men and women to put meat on the table each night, and "target shooting" was an unheard of concept, musket balls were a precious commodity in the wilds of early America, and were certainly not wasted "target shooting". The Second Amendment was written by people who fled oppressive and tyrannical regimes in Europe, and refers to the right of American citizens to be armed for defense purposes should such tyranny rise in the United States.

As time goes on the average citizen in the United States continues to lose personal freedom or "liberty". Far too many times unjust bills are passed and signed into law under the guise of "for your safety" or "for protection" . The Patriot Act signed into law by G.W. Bush, then expanded and continued by Barack Obama is just one of many examples of American citizens being stripped of their rights and privacy for "safety". Now, the Right to Keep and Bear Arms is on the table, and will, most likely be taken away for "our safety".

Before any American citizen blindly accepts whatever new firearms legislation that is about to be doled out, they should stop and think about something for just one minute- Evil does exist in our world. It always has and always will. Throughout history evil people have committed evil acts. In the Bible one of the first stories is that of Cain killing Abel. We can not legislate "evil" into extinction. Good people will abide by the law, defective people will always find a way around it.

And another thought Evil exists all around us, but looking back at the historical record of the past 200 years across the globe, where is "evil" and "malevolence" most often found? In the hands of those with the power- governments. That greatest human tragedies on record and the largest loss of innocent human life can be attributed to governments. Who do governments target? "Scapegoats" and "enemies" within their own borders … but only after they have been disarmed to the point where they are no longer a threat. Ask any Native American, and they will tell you it was inferior technology and lack of arms that contributed to their demise. Ask any Armenian why it was so easy for the Turks to exterminate millions of them, and they will answer "We were disarmed before it happened". Ask any Jew what Hitler's first step prior to the mass murders of the Holocaust was- confiscation of firearms from the people.

Wounded Knee is the prime example of why the Second Amendment exists, and why we shouldn't be in such a hurry to surrender our Right to Bear Arms. Without the Second Amendment we have no right to defend ourselves and our families.

I read an article about The Citadel. You need to go check it out. They are talking about building a fortress kind of city...not against the government because they'll getcha no matter what, but a community that will have each others backs. As of right now land has been purchased in Idaho in the mountains. Too much to write but check it out and give me your opinion before I offer mine.

Government's first duty is to protect the people, not run their lives. President Ronald Reagan

Quoting Windrider735:

Just one thought...no matter how well oiled and sealed the guns are, if you bury them they can be found by even the cheapest metal detector, and the ones the government will be using will be state-of-the-art. Some believe that limestone caves are safe from metal detection, but even if this were true...high frequency sound waves can be used. Burying them under manure piles won't work. Maybe under the floors of metal buildings, but with today's technology...I seriously doubt if there are any safe hiding places. The modern detectors not only find the metal, they show on a screen exactly what it is and how deep it's buried. Any other suggestions?

Just make sure you've got one gun around that can't be traced no matter how the law changes.   Enuf said.
